Thank you Jim. As always you make great points. I can see adding the flattener to my slot car tools in the future. As cool as the brushless motor seems to be, we really don't race so that's more money towards new cars. :D

The 2 digital readouts are actual temperature and set-point ... it does not have a timer on that controller ..

I used to race many years ago and sometimes built my own chassis. Paying $150 for a chassis flattener seems ridiculous. I'm guessing this is for some class of racing where people have to run a cheap mass produced chassis for cheap racing, but if you need a $150 chassis flattener to be competitive, that isn't cheap racing. The $400 brushless motor also sounds ridiculous, except when you take a look at the latest Koford price list, find a complete Gp7 or Gp27 motor, add spare brushes and springs and you're paying $400 or $500 and it might last one race meeting before rebuilding.

Nice job Jim. I'm with you professional tools, not for the back yard.

The brushless motor and ESC are way over priced. They are more expensive then any RC car brushless motor and ESC. The parts are not hand made. Only the wire wrap around the stator could be hand wrapped.

    It's (Slot Cars) !
    Lets not forget that.
Nobody should be paying $150.00 for something that should come from the manufacturer right to start with.
And now they want to sell a $400.00 motor?
They are going to far with it.
Build a real car and see how they work that out , I'm not into any of that nonsense they trying to push.
It's not that deep people , keep it fun not dumb.
