For me, germans of ww2 will always be the masters of camo. All their patterns work amazingly well, way better than modern camos. Any ww2 german camo kicks multicam and all those actual fancy camo. Dot44 and Leibermuster are truly the universal camo. They work in all seasons and all landscapes, from desert to steppe. Since it is hard and expensive to get dot44, not even mention leibermuster, cheapest and easiest choice would be alpenflage. Cheap, great quality and amazingly efficient camo. I compared it against multicam. It kicked it, even from drone video. Multicam/OCP is way too light because the background color is light tan. Should have been dark brown, or at least darker tan. I also have the oak leaves, reversible. It performs better than alpenflage in autumn, but not really a big difference. For some oakleaves lovers, you can get the russian SS Partizan, which the autumn model is basically an exact copy of the original.
Depends multicam was more introduced for the Afghanistan environment, and will hold up in just about any environment because of the neutral colors where as these old german patterns were for the European front
Great video! This stuff literally disappears up here in North Central Ohio during the fall and winter months, LOVE IT! Still waiting for everything to blossom and change back to green so I can flip it to the Spring/Summer side. Also have a repro Plane Tree Pattern #3/#4 on the way that looks to have a mistake in the coloration from the photos, looks like the primary color shades for green, brown, and tan of Multicam but in the Plane Tree pattern.
I've used the Oak B, Blurred Edge and Splintertarn patterns for deer hunting for years and they all work as good or better than 90% of the new 'tacti-cool' patterns out there. BTW - nice buck rub on that tree as you're backing out!
I feel the modern Flecktarn and Reversible oak camo they make now is not as effective nor as good quality as they did back then. Still a great camo for hunting and re-enactment either way
Ww2 german oakleaf camo is still superior to anything modern militaries use today. Change my mind. Its a shame companies dont produce tactical styled clothing and plate carriers in this camo
If you had a hat on your camo would have been perfect I love the video that camo is super Awsome it works super fantastic 100 out 100 from me here n South Africa it works here to I have that camo🤙🤙
@@survivalcommandothe Country USA is so messed up for not copying it and using it. Instead creating camo and using camo that doesnt work. Im speaking of the US. The USMC MARPAT does work.
damn. it practically disappears. i wish more movies and games showcased this in the field instead of trying to make ss units look like they were in the barracks constantly
I've always been a big fan of the Oak Leaf pattern. It's one of the first camo patterns I saw as a child and it left an impression.
May I ask where you saw it as a child? In a movie? A videogame?
I wear this smock hunting in Virginia . Works very well .

Original ss smocks in mint condition are even better at camouflaging.
Old Smocks wont fit my 300 pound frame I imagine. LOL.I love mine in 3XL and I was ecstatic the day it came in the mail.

Yes, I tested both sides out in all seasons and blends in.
I was in the jungle washing my camo suits and hung them for drying... It took me hours to find them back!!!
Very effective
Curious to see how the Italian camo works. That pattern existed since the late 1920's.
You talking about the san Marco camo?
Yes@@survivalcommando

South Africa Good deal. My Favorite camo is the Angola lizard pattern.I plan to do some African bush war load outs soon.
It would work great here in Oklahoma.
Ill bet , I don't believe Modern camo will ever surpass it either.
Would also work great in Mn fall
@@franktillman295 I love it .Best camo ever.
