Thanks, trying out a new format. Couldn't give up the camo/surplus fetish so incorporating it in a new way.
@@survivalcommando lol nothing wrong with cool camo! Branching out and trying new things is how you can grow your channel to different audiences. Once you find something you like that performs well it’s all up from there!

It is.
Oak B is a very effective pattern, both Spring and Fall, and many "new" patterns are just copies of it. The Russian SS Partizan camo is a knock-off with a slight color change.
I did a comparison video.
My fav: 1- gorka partizan (spring+fall) 2-ATACS AU 3-german W SS 39 (spring+fall) As I am old and do not engage in tactical games, I mostly use an adaptative green backpack and one or two sniper veils to somewhat be not so visible if in an extreme situation. The new marine pattern seems nice... There are some finnish patterns (winter) that would look interesting if tinted with coffee (there is no snow where I live) The rodhesian patern is very interesting, but I find the blobs/smears too large. The modern russian pattern seems interesting, specially after some washes (to fade the greens) and a trip to the coffee or tea bath...
What is your environment like?
@@survivalcommando On what? colors? temperature? vegetation? Well, on the dryer side, browns, ocre, yellows...in summer / fall, a bit more greens on winter / spring... Usually between 5°C and 45°C but I have registered from -9°C to 48°C (about 25 F to 120° F) By the way: I do not have air conditioning neither at home nor in my office and rarely shower with hot water...
No black color was used on those early camouflage patterns. To this day, i deem the SS camo one of the very best ever made. I don't know why future patterns insistend on adding black to the pattern, like the FLECKTARN for example. It is not a color found in the forest - it is not a natural color. And indeed some trees can look black under certain lighting conditions, it still makes more sense to use dark brown instead.

A valid point! Swedish M90 has what apears to be a lot of black but it is actually tinted with blue color and not flat black

@@survivalcommandowe tend to use panterka/camo interchangeable although there's a particular polish camo variant named Panther
You're definitely going to want to figure out some thermal protection. Just a tarp between you & the opposition's thermal imaging gear ain't gonna cut it. A thermal blanket cut & sewn to fit might work.....

Same smock I wear hunting in central Virginia . Very effective . Got mine from At The Front .

Why this type of WSS camo pattern was largely abandoned is beyond me.
Yes , however Russian elite units use it and renamed it SS LETO. I wear it in some of my vids.
Think it was to do with when the German army was disbanded American policy But yes agree , it's brilliant camo

Good old Stihl! I have one from my father in law Here to restore. Made in Western Germany. I will do that soon. And man that was a Big Ass knife 😮
I still have my (faded) one that I used every hunting season hear in Central Alabama. Mine had Mil Tec on the tab and lemme saw it was a Head Turning piece of gear at the Club. I had to go look at mine after seeing the other video of the autumn pattern. Very similar and I believe I bought mine in 08. Great Video.

@@survivalcommando lol no Hunting Club I was a Member of for over 13years. They all used the most up to date Commercial Patterns. Real tree, Mossy Oak etc

I was at the Wannemacher show this last weekend. A former Rhodesian 3 RR soldier was selling original and good quality reproduction Rhodesian camo. Be back next year with loads more
Rhodesian Is a great pattern but I don't have it. Instead I have the Angola lizard pattern
@@survivalcommando I'm a Rhodie fan boy since the late 70s. I had a set of original for a while. Honestly, the German WWII oakleaf works much better here in Oklahoma. But, I'll keep that to myself 😏 I'm still planning to get some reproduction Rhodesian camo along with some oakleaf.
