👍, thank you for that comment and useful info 😊. Unfortunately I didn't see it 🙈. It took me 5 minutes originally to find the battery 😂. I am honestly still in shock that the 1st nib broke 😲. I will pin your comment so others might see it 👏
I bought the dell active pen and am using it one my Kobo Sage. Sometimes when I hover over the screen the Kobo detects this as writing. Is this a known problem that can be solved?
The latency is not class leading but, unless you are extremely easily annoyed by latency (and I can be). It’s not that bad either. The writing experience can still be a bit buggy though. It is fine to write notes on occasionally and is possibly my favourite device to sign documents on. However, I am not sure I would trust it as a device to write meetings notes on for hours a day.
Somewhat unrelated question...but wondering if you have run into an issue of annotations that you make in epubs (written text; circled words) just vanishing - like a whole page? It's happened to me on more than one occasion. I'm going to raise this issue with Rakuten, but thought I would ask here as well.
Hi Steve, great point, yes and no is the answer 🙈. I have not found them just vanish but I have found them in the PDFs particularly move pages and it is a bit like hunting your notes. It is definitely worth raising with Rakuten and I suspect it will be fixed in future software 🤞. I hope it's not making the Kobo unusable for you, although I very much get that it's frustrating.
Hi Verna, I prefer the Surface pen, the Dell pen is similar to the Kobo pen it just rattles less (not to be underestimated). The Surface pen is a nicer pen, I actually like the highliter at the back. And it's magnetic which means you can attach it to the front of the device which is useful. It's just is an even better built pen worth more than double the price to you? If I am being honest I like the colour options on the surface pen also. 🙈
@@AlexSamuels I actually like that too since I keep mixing up the buttons. I'm just trying to see the differences in surface pens. There's a cheaper version that looks like the one you're using, but I don't know why. I think it's battery type.
@@vernabailey3671 this is a link to the one I got if that helps. geni.us/Wnpu. I got a bit confused too when I was buying it. There is also a nib set which I decided not to get 🤔
So i bought the dell pen. Feels way better! But now ím trying to find nibs (tips) for it… DELL doesnt know, Google dosnt know and ive searched alot! Does anyone know what nibs i can order???
Thanks Jasper, great point and question. 2 things, I have seen comments that say the nib kit for Bamboo ink should work. Unfortunately I sent the Dell back but I do use the bamboo ink and they are good nibs. The other thing is have you tried the Kobo nibs? They might not fit but it might be worth a go. I have found with several of these pens than the nibs are interchangeable. Hope that helps 👍.
@@AlexSamuels Good choice to send it back because now i know that DELL does no sell tips for it at all, they see it as a one time use as they told me. Íll take a look att Bamboo ink pens due to the Kobo pens tips does not fit in Dells pens. Thanks for your answer.
@@JesperForssblad I like the bamboo ink pen, one of the reasons I like it is that it charges via USBC, so no AAAA battery. However, the disadvantage is that it turns months into battery life to days/weeks. But it is easy to charge. The best pen I use with an AAAA battery is the Microsoft surface pen. Good luck getting a pen that works for you 👍
@@shreyash6495 No, I use the RM 2 most days as well as the 12.9 iPad Pro. The kindle and the kobo get used most weeks. I want to use the Onyx Boox more but it doesn't get used that much and I don't use the supernote at all. I really need to give my second iPad to a member of my team but I just haven't got round to it get and I do sometimes still use it.
I am surprised people make such a fuss about a AAAA battery. I've seen several reviews so far that seem like they've never seen one. Most, if not all, active pens that are not rechargeable use a AAAA battery: Microsoft Surface, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc...
It's a really good point Serge, but I am not sure I have ever seen a AAAA battery 😂. I haven't used that type of pen before. I was surprised and pleased how small and light it is 😊.
It comes with an extra nib, the nib is on the back of the box.

Thank you, I found the spare nib after seeing this comment, on the back of the foam, under the key hole-shaped plastic, in the pen box.
it took me 2 weeks to find the extra nib 😅
Thanks for testing them out! It's much appreciated as I'm about to check out the Kobo Sage soon and I'm looking for some decent stylus alternatives.
The Kobo Sage looks nice 👍, great piece of kit especially with the right stylus.

Sorry, not one I know the answer too. 😔
Can someone put a link on where & which dell pen to buy? :)
I can although this is my pen of choice amzn.to/3HG4HHW

Really interesting pen, does it work well?
Has anyone figured out a way to swap the buttons so that you can use the surface eraser to erase?
Hi Matthew, great question, I would love to know too. I assume you can do it with a surface tablet but I don't have one to test out my theory.
