    Max is right... Kyrie is a momentum player. Once his shot isn't falling, he's virtually useless. He isn't a playmaker, doesn't make guys better, is an average passer. Idk how many times he let Klay hit open 3s trying to gamble on the steal. Upside is he's only 24.

      Mama There Go That Man Who is better than kyrie if youre gonna trade him? Players like wall, curry, lillard cant go with lebron. You have to think that kyrie the reason why they won game 7, cavs still reign the east, get some defenders (a center or like a tony allen type of player), and they'd probably have a chance at dubs.

    • @zachariah-binyisrayl5570
      @zachariah-binyisrayl5570 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mama There Go That Man On size alone...Kyrie can't guard Klay Thompson. But Klay can guard Kyrie with no problem. That's because Klay knows that Kyrie is a TERRIBLE defender. He's just not good at it. Kyrie can only guard Curry. He's too short to guard anyone else. The reason he kept letting Klay get open is because he has to chase Klay (and Curry) through so many screens that he's tired as fkk on offense...and starts missing shots. That's just ONE of the ways GSW beats u....they RUN YO ASS TO DEATH. They make u chase them around the court all game long. If u don't have the energy and stamina to keep up....you're done. This is what happened to the Cavs in the finals.

      Cooliehigh Marley It's a shame that people are so HYPNOTIZED by Kyrie's handles and scoring...they don't take the time to ask...."BUT CAN HE DEFEND" ??? His height only allows him to guard Curry (he's too short to guard anyone else)...so who can he lock down ? Who has he stopped from scoring ? NOBODY. We saw this in the finals. It's called getting EXPOSED...and Kyrie got exposed on defense. People should put their emotions for Kyrie aside...and just look at FACTS. KYRIE - CAN'T - DEFEND.....ok ? Score....yes. Defend....hell naw.

      the only thing that is lacking with Curry is "on ball defense" but that is due to his height disadvantage and skinny body build. other than that, he's good in off ball defense, high bball iq, can rebound (heck he can outrebound cleve's bigs last finals), good handles (tho kyrie is a bit better, a good passer, a good playmaker and a half court threat. been saying this the whole time im glad someone brought out this matter.

    Finally Stephen a smith brings up a great point. You have to utilize your superstars and build around their specific skill sets. Kyrie just like AI is an undersized ISO scorer. AI was able to get to the finals because they build and had guys who were elite defenders like Mutombo. You gotta add defense around kyrie cuz we all know he isn't going to defend but he will guarantee you offensive firepower. Cavs can be élite even without Lebron if they have a strong defensive team with kyrie leading the offense and maybe have one or two shooters in Kyle korver and Jr smith around him. Or even possibly have jimmy butler if he decides to join them.

  • @shoutrite91
    @shoutrite91 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb trees, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." The one thing Max is missing in all of this is that Lebron's style of play demands a certain type of system. The issue is Kyrie has a completely different style of play that does not fit the current system in Cleveland. SAS is 100% correct. Once Philly was able to construct a certain type of system that FIT AI's style of play they were successful. The issue here isn't whether or not either player is a marquee player, but whose style will you choose to cater to. This is the issue with superteams.

    Max and SAS are both right, max was right in his analysis of Kyrie as a player, and Stephen A was correct in saying you have to build a team that suits his play style.

  • @jamesber722
    @jamesber722 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Max is 100% right. What Stephen A is missing is that in today's NBA, you could no longer get away with having a team with the skills/talent of Iverson's supporting cast if your franchise player's skillset is just like AI/Kyrie's. Today's defensive schemes are more complex and are better designed to stop iso players like Kyrie/Iverson, so Kyrie needs good offensive players to complement him, at the very least good shooters. Even Westbrook who does more things well overall than Kyrie has a better supporting cast than AI, and look where his team ended. Put Kyrie on that OKC team instead of Westbrook and OKC will definitely finish significantly worse.

    Max is 100% right. As a score first iso 6'2 guard the kind of impact as a POINT guard is limited. Granted he is great but you aren't going to build around him, you use him to build around a team, Stephen A sees that as if it's a disrespect for some reason.

  • @RookieDad1

    The problem about Kyrie is that he just doesnt move the ball nearly enough as I feel like he should as a PG - he's a scorer. He also doesn't play D. Kyrie is a SG in a PG body.

    I'm on Max's side. Kyrie is a cerebral assassin on offense, but he does little to improve his teammates. In today's game, you can't build around him by signing defensive stoppers and let Kyrie do his thing with the ball. He's a deadly glass cannon, if that even makes sense.

  • @Kareem-cx4fi
    @Kareem-cx4fi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    max is right. If Kyrie was legit, LeBron could sit during the finals to rest and Kyrie should have kept the Cavs a float. When KD was with Russ, both were able to keep the ship afloat when the other sat. Kyrie can't even keep the ship afloat when LeBron sits.

    Kyrie plays like we all do on career mode in 2k. Just dribble through everyone and score. The only problem is that iso ball is dying and is inefficient most of the time. It's only ever something you'd want in clutch situations, but if the rest of the teammates get cold and they end up double teaming you, the games never gonna be close enough to go to the clutch lol

    Well i guess someone has to argue the other side or there is no show but, I completely agree with Max. As previously stated, Kyrie is a phenomenal scoring talent, if you look past that, which i understand is difficult to do, he is a below average NBA player. Another point to consider. The way he has developed his finishing ability, has come at the cost of easier shots for his teammates.
    If you are putting up a shot and you are drawing more than one defender, that automatically makes the shot you are about to take the worse shot, because one of your teammates is open. You can call it incredible scoring ability, or you can call it, being good at taking bad shots, either way I believe Kyrie would be best suited as a 6th man and not a franchise cornerstone. Make him into a quarter closer. Someone you bring in when the game is on the line. A game icer. Just makes sense to utilize his ability when it is best suited to be used.
    I can't say that Kyrie could be the cornerstone of a franchise because I just can't believe it until he becomes a more well rounded player. I have a lot of respect for Kyrie but the way he plays is quite selfish and I just don't think it's conducive to good basketball.

    Max is right. Kyrie's mentality as a player is the problem. He's a very talented individual player, a sub-par team-player, mediocre defender and an unwilling play-maker despite being a "point guard". You can't build a franchise around a player like that.

      A.J. Bastien
      That could work. But NBA is evolving to a new a era where players need to do both offense AND defense and not just "oh this is you role ill do mine". Thats good but if you're gonna comepete with gsw you gotta hit all the points. Just look at Klay T. Or Giannis. I mean hell the Finals it was "easy" to guard Kyrie since when he gets the ball you know he'll only do a drive or a jumper and fuckin not pass. not mention thr Cavs center... I mean fuck they might as well trade Tristan for Curry for Center lmao...
