- Join me on a pre-work adventure to find some swimmy fun between Greenock and Gourock. A bit of sightseeing along the banks of the Clyde, a ride on a train and a picnic breakfast before venturing into the water at Gourock Outdoor Pool and getting to know some locals. A mini adventure before work is a brilliant way to start the day and helps me look after my wellbeing. I documented this in my Bluetonic Awaken your Blue Mind journal of winter wellbeing challenges.

Sign up to the Winter Challenge "Awaken your Blue Mind'! Based on the 5 ways to wellbeing, this challenge is a treat to the senses, it is designed to help you look after your mental health over the winter months when it is easy to get a bit sluggish and lack motivation. WoW… a pool with a view!! Your pool dip looked so totally relaxing, and how lucky that you caught the last swim of the season there. I love how interesting and friendly the people are, and of course, I always love to see the buildings and the architecture. Everything is stunning and so very unique. The train looked impressive too. Go visit if you’re in that neck of the woods when it’s open. It’s a real gem!
My favourite place to swim, it's really friendly, everyone is happy to be there and Iove the combination of the fresh air, salty water, birds flying over and the music playing 🎶
It really was a belter! I would have loved to have spent longer there but work was waiting! I’ll most definitely be back! 🏊♀️😀

It was a lovely treat and after not that much sleep and with a full day of work ahead I was very much up for the warm water. What a sensation!

loved this adventure. I’ve been to that swimming pool we went there last summer. What a stunning location. I just wish there were more lidos in the north of the country not just Scotland although there are a few local outdoor pools you just can’t beat been outside swimming .

The places you pointed out from Gourock were (if I can help), Cardross (not Glasgow), Helensburgh (Don’t know), Kilcreggan (not Helensburgh, and Loch Long (not The Gareloch).
I’m amazed they allowed you to film at Gourock pool, especially in the changing rooms, as you are not allowed to take photos or videos. I was stopped from taking a photo of my autistic son in the pool who loves going there. It’s a council pool and they don’t allow photos because children use it.
Thanks for the pointers on what I was looking at, really appreciated. I sought permission on the day to make the vid and was careful about how I did it. I was chuffed that they said it would be fine that day.
@@EverydayAthleteRach It’s a lovely pool. There is another outdoor pool not too far away at Portavadie (they have an indoor one too) which is an infinity pool overlooking Loch Fyne (it will be more expensive though). There is a bus from Dunoon to Portavadie which takes about an hour and 20 minutes

I received my Zoe reports yesterday, not looking very good I'm afraid, but the only way is up, so glad I did it, got a score today of 82....so, thanks again for your encouraging videos.....I'm going to try the pancakes for tomorrow's breakfast 🥞....xx

Wow! We have driven past that pool countless times and I have always wondered what it is like. Usually we are en route to the ferry to Dunoon and on a mission to get to Ardrishaig. I do swim there in the loch :) I will plan for us to stop there so I can go for a dip. at 30 degrees I think my husband and son might be tempted too! We love the drive to Gourock as the views are stunning.
It’s an absolute peach and there are picnic tables overlooking the view. Felt like swimming in a ski resort! Make a special trip next season!

@@patriciapowers3751 I’m on the mend. Working through physio at the moment. Hope that you can enjoy your surroundings if there’s no travel on the cards just yet. Do you have changing leaf colours of autumn where you are?
@@EverydayAthleteRach only some trees. Where I’m from there is a huge color change which is now ell past its prime. Back home they had snow on Halloween, so winter begins
Wow! That’s a pool with a view. Couldn’t be better. I wonder wether the water is that warm in summer, too. I regularly swim at Hamburg’s oldest public swimming pool which also ha an all year round heated outdoor pool with 25°C water. That always seems warm enough for me during the winter months. In summer I find it too warm and prefer the unheated 50-m-pool that is usually open from May through September.
Anyway, I really liked your adventure and it must be really nice to have a job that allows for swimming on business trps.
It’s good to be able to fit some fun around work. I was working from midday until late evening so it worked out well. Hamburg’s outdoor heated pool sounds like it’s worth a visit too 🏊♀️😀
@@EverydayAthleteRach Yes, it’s great when you can fit some daylight swimming around work in winter. But it isn’t easy. The Hamburg pool is definitely worth going to, if you happen to be in Hamburg, although the view can’t compare. Let me know, if you take a trip to Hamburg. I’d love to show you around.

I just got into the pool which was 30°C. The outside air temp was 9 or 10°C

What a gorgeous place, makes you realise how many stunning locations we have in the UK. If you ever go to South Devon check out Shoalstone outdoor pool in Brixham- another beautiful location!
Well I do make it down the S Devon a few times a year so I’ll pop Shoalstone outdoor pool on my list of places to visit! Thanks for the tip 🏊♀️😀
