During our first podcast from Atlanta this week, Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson stopped by Dantanna's for the pod. During the interview, Vick and and Jackson talked about their time together playing for Chip Kelly in Philadelphia. Vick shares that he cried during the 2013 preseason as Kelly had him battling for a starting job with Nick Foles.

@@cruman87 That was the roster that Howie Roseman and Andy Reid put together. Once he was given the GM title and brought in who he wanted, he fucked up the eagles. Trading McCoy for Kiko Alonso, trading Nick Foles for Sam Bradford, and cutting DeSean Jackson come to mind.
I mean who gets on a team and replaces Mike Vick, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, Asante Samuel, & Jason Peter's in just 2 years?

I was 100% against Mike Vick coming to the Eagles, a lot of guys in Philly felt that way, but the dude did everything right and won us over. Fond memories of #7 in midnight green.

Chip Kelly’s “system” isn’t working out well in UCLA, San Fran, or the eagles.
It was a terrible culture that Chip was creating, that could have been much worse than dismantling the roster had it remained so terrible. Fortunately, Pederson was able to put that to rest along with Howie and so many leaders in the locker room. It’s tragic how we lost so many franchise players during Kelly’s brief tenure, but at least the team was able to reconstruct both the roster and the mentality/brotherhood in the locker room.

I think our front seven was nasty to. I think routs and blow outs are more common in college football and usually at that point the teams are really done playing. The NFL has to game plan even for first half blow outs. So Chip Kelly's system was flawed from jump. Even rebuilding teams have veteran presence within the organization that the coaching staff lean on to help build that comrade-re that NFL teams need. It was the titanic on its maiden voyage for Chip Kelly.

Whoa Mike? I know at that time before that season you were the better QB and accomplished a lot, but Nick Foles last year Won 2 big playoff games and the Superbowl. Which he played lights out in the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP and Outdueled Tom Brady to win the Superbowl and get Superbowl MVP. That is something you can't take away from him or say you did. You never made it to a superbowl. Give Foles more respect than that. Besides he did end up outplaying you that season. 27TD's-2INT's. You also never threw for that many TD's in a single season.
