Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Bojack Horseman, Gravity Falls, Infinity Train, and Over the Garden Wall are all EASY S tier 2010s shows
The fact that Over the Garden Wall wasn't even included is a crime tbh.

Regular Show would've been S Tier for me as well. The last 2 seasons when the park went to space were plot-driven and amazing imo, I think I legit cried at the end of the last episode. A contrast from the "bro" humor at the start of the show.

@@Kira1Lawliet eh, as a millenial I disagree. Both pretty good eras for animation.
We had all time greats like Dexters Lab, Powerpuff Girls and Spongebob, pioneers of adult oriented cartoons like Futurama, ATHF, and Home Movies, and classic anime like Bebop, FLCL, & Eva.
But all of the post-Adventure Time shows (which are def zoomer-tier) like Gumball, Steven Universe, & Gravity Falls, are pretty good. For adult cartoons you have Rick&Morty, Bojack, and Bobs Burgers, which are all pretty acclaimed, along with lots of new Netflix stuff in that vein. And for Anime you have hugely popular shows like Mob Psycho, OPM, and Attack on Titan.
Do I personally think that any shows from the latter list hold up to anything from the former? Not really (maybe with the exception of Mob psycho). But that could very well be my nostalgia talking.
Idk, implying the last 10 years or so have been some sort of dark age for animation compared to the 90s is just dishonest imo. There’s more quality animation coming out now than ever before. It might not top the classic stuff from the 90s, but it’s not trash by any stretch

Steven Universe got did so dirty. Yeah the writing did have some weak points but CN really fucked them up and I've heard essentially pulled the plug after the Ruby and Sapphire wedding which is why the pacing got thrown way off later on. Theres an interview with Rebecca saying theres a lot more she wanted to cover but ultimately couldn't and it just makes me so sad/mad.

No one talks about Adventure Time as well. The writers had huge plans for the final season then CN fucked them hard and just gave them 5 more episode’s to wrap shit up, resulting in a rushed final season. Adventure Time did not deserve to end in such a rushed way. Sure Adventure Time is a pretty lengthy show but cmon, it’s a huge show for the network, let it end honorably. Thank God it’s continuing with distant lands.

It was fine. But after rewatching it again, I noticed it actually isn't that great. Plus in each season, Korra did the exact same shit she did in the last season and didn't seem to learn anything new. Plus the villains really went down hill after Amon. Amon and Zaheer were really the two I liked the most. I was also disappointed that the majority of Korra's and Asami's relationship happened off screen via the letters she got after recovering from Zaheer.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎

Boondocks exists because it was made by Aaron McGruder, a black person, who was writing from the perspective of some who grew up being black and viscerally understanding what it's like to be black.
The show would be totally different if it was written by a white person, because, first it wouldn't exist, second the cultural familiarity would be absent. So, it would likely just still have racist stereotypes and an infinitum of Nwords, but that's it. It would just be the same "edgy" shit you talk about white teens doing.

Amphibia is up there with my favorite animated shows, I genuinely believe it's overall better than Gravity Falls. Very similar style of comedy, and I believe it's mystery elements are handled much better. It has that issue that most animated shows have now adays where the start is a lot less interesting, but once the Calamity Box is name dropped I think Amphibia hits a stride that never really stops. Though I will say, if you only watch shows for dramatic plot and lore, as opposed to character writing, Amphibia likely won't be as big a sell (though that is still present, it's just not the focus for most of it).
    It also gets very dark.

On a similar note, im almost done binging All Hail King Julian on Netflix. Shockingly very good. It puts Julian in a way better position as young, charismatic and fun-loving knowing not much conflict because of his nobility, but also still caring to those around him, knowing a partying lifestyle is no fun with no one to party with.
I kinda see each character as personifications of different ideas, Julian obviously the ego but also with the ego's downside of needing to be loved by the people who see him. Morice is more of an emotional center that is down to earth and reasonable, but also prone to superstion. Clover is a guardian of sorts, but an authoritarian one at that. She will be the first to start a fight, but will be sure that the people she's protecting will make it out safely. Police brutality? No question, never denied. But people don't mind because she's the one keeping them safe from literal predators in the jungle.
I could probably also list off all side characters and their small interesting portrayals. Cringy at times, but in a dumb kid show way. Also communist space monkes. It feels like something I would write if I was signed on to this project because I loved Madagascar as a wee lad. Like a "how to be a good person who also desprately wants to be adored by people". Honestly smacks of early SpongeBob
Anyway let me go finish season 6 now...

This must simply be my favorite opening to a Vaush segment ever. It feels like he was spawned in his chair with everything already set up and a vague idea of what he's supposed to be doing, only to be met by a giant and arbitrary list of cartoons that he doesn't even recognize half of, which perfectly compliments the artificial feeling that the ubiquitous Tier List brings both visually and conceptually. Later, mistaking the title 'We Bear Bears' as 'The Three Bears', he quickly declares that he's seen one episode of the show and drags it into Tier B before noting that he, "remembers it being cute... maybe?"
At this point in the video, you move the cursor a bit and realize it is over 40 minutes long with cuts.

Alright I was in chat for this one and I disagree heavily with Vaush on Adventure Time, it's easily S tier.
he says it's bogged down by how long it is, however I'm inclined to say it's strength is it's length.
Unlike SU Adventure Time is an episodic show with plot and overarching story elements, not the other way around, so there really isn't filler.
Vaush says the average quality is lower but I HAVE to disagree, you could take almost any episode of AT from like season 3 onward and there will be a HIGH likelihood it'll be like one of the best episodes of any show you've ever seen.

Also FUCK KEZ, SHE IS A NULL IN MY EYES BECAUSE SHE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART ABOUT BOOK 4 AND ALL OF INFINITY TRAIN IMO. And no you don't get to suddenly redeem yourself with a sad Lizard story shoehorned in at the very end of episode 9 (I think, I've only watched book 4 twice because I have ZERO desire to watch it again) and then just go "I'm SoRrY" to everyone's lives that she fucked over, again shifting the focus away from the main protagonists that got little to no development throughout the whole season, tbh the best part of book 4 is the memory tape episode and the best part of that episode is Amelia vibing with One. Also one last thing, they got the man, the myth, the legend, J.K. Simmons to voice fuckin pig baby?!?!?! C'mon guys, you can't just waste J. Jonah Jameson like that. But yeah overall, infinity train is still one of my favourite animated shows ever, but book 4 REALLY drags down the show as an overall package, or as my really good friend put it, book 4 is the shrek 3 of infinity train. Well, somebody's 90's weren't ruled by the Disney Afternoon and Super Nintendo... come on Vaush, Duck Tales! The world's biggest freakin' mega-capitalist that literally swims in his pool of wealth is the good guy! Also the title theme songs from that era are some of the most unforgettable... no matter how hard you try

I think Vaush is too young to have seen many of the 90s shows. Maybe it is just my nostalgia speaking but he is missing a lot of good stuff.

Vaush is in Nostalgia-brain. Avatar was an amazing show, but some of the modern stuff we have like Infinity train easily surpass this.

I'm rewatching Avatar right now and a lot of the first season is pretty kiddie stuff. Sokka being annoying, “mY cAbbAgEs,” etc.
I could imagine if Vaush watched it for the first time today, he might have a very similar reaction to Amphibia, a show that also gets much better with time.
Infinity Train is just pure pog from start to finish though. I hope it gets rebooted before the decade's end.

@@iankellymorris A while back Owen tweeted out an image from the muppets, specifically from a song where they were singing about how the executives deemed the show financially viable and thus no longer canceled. It could be a coincidence so I'm not getting my hopes up, but that feels like some he'd do if he wanted to let the fans know a new season is in pre production and can't officially say anything. I guess we'll have to wait a year or two to see if anything happens

OG Ben 10 was S tier. Dont care what anyone says. The theme song alone carries it to like at least an A and then the rest just blows it out of the park. Also Invader Zim is S tier, dark humour in kids shows is an underrated trope that sadly got censored out.
