Shout out to dave for waiting to pull the film off so he could share the experience with all of us. A true real one for that
You obviously know what I've been going through looking at it for so long 😁
@@davecamyton the last stretch now Dave to the 1st 100k milestone!! Keep up the good work 💪been watching since the beginning
agreed, cheers
'I don't think I would make any other changes'
Sim racing does not accept this message.
Life goals, right there :)
I'd give my left arm just to have sumit like that 😂
I have a terminally ill daughter, So can only work limited hours for income.
So sadly, I dont have a sim rig setup yet...
Just running the basic or the basic... logitech g923 wheel, pedals and shifter, with a ebay USB handbrake..
Bolted to my desk 🤣
i7 13700k with a RTX 4060 Ti though... More than capable...
I am in the process of building a "sim room" though...
14 x 16ft Shed, insulated, walled, full electrics and a diesel heater for warmth..
Thats basically complete now... Im just trying to buy a Sim rig frame to put in there :)
I have a HUGE passion for sim racing, and really cannot wait to eventually have a full setup like this (if i can afford it)...
GG from Cambridge, England
i hope everything goes well for you mate, build ur dream room
A little bit different to mine. I am a self employed software dev so due to space restrictions I use my work PC that runs absolutely everything on it! Steering and pedals is a G29 from ebay. PC is an 8 core Ryzen 7 running at 4ghz. 64 Gbyte RAM. 8 Gbyte 170GTi and a 27 inch LG monitor. The "cockpit" is the wheel clamped to my desk, the pedals on the floor held in place by a wall, and my office chair held in place by towels wrapped around the wheels (seriously - it is). Its not pretty but it works and provides a huge amount of fun
Really nice tour. Thanks for sharing the room.
Thanks Daniel 😁
Love your content Dave. I have dreams about sim rigs like this, or even a nice DD wheel. I would suggest blurring the windows key on your system specs portion of the video.
I came here to say this, good shout!
Thanks, but it's already activated 👍
@@davecamyt Good to know. It is worth noting whilst they probably can't do much with it, if you reinstalled the OS you might have activation issues :)
@@CrispyTheGoatyou have no Idea what you talking about bro just stop
great case you got there Dave been using the same for a few years now myself
Very jealous of the setup. Wish I had the space, but downsizing etc. Hope to one day get a DD wheelbase someday, but will have to attach to the desk. Just re-watching your old ETS2 videos. It's the only sim I can play (relativity) well using an Xbox controller. Also, it gives me time to catch up on some vinyl I have bought but not listened to yet, along with processing the passing of my mum last Weds 😥💔. But enough of that. Are you intending on producing any more ETS2 content in the future, especially with yesterday's update? Keep up the stellar work 👍
A great insight into your world, thank you. I have a similar beast computer and it runs well. I am still trying to work out how to put more into my video like the tv screen you have in the top right corner. I suppose it is done during the editing phase which I tend to be no good at.
I love to see the keyboard on the bucket!
That is an epic Man/Wife cave ;) Awesome Dave. Really inspiring.. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for this Dave, really appreciate it. I've spent months and months and months following pc builders and SIM racers to work out what PC specs I need to run triple 1440p for iRacing and ACC. And honestly knowing you're running a 4060 has already saved me a few hundred quid!! Thanks again, keep the videos coming.
Good to see your still running the vx pro pedals. Must of watched you video on them 20+ times. Finally pushed the button on them yesterday 👍
You'll love them 😁
beauty setup up, Dave. Congrats! =)
It's all awesome....... I would probably never leave the room, if it was in my house..
Cheers Dave for the tour, I too have that same SIM Labs seat and one of their rigs as well as a top spec computer from PCSpecialists - very good bunch.
How you resisted the urge to remove that film for two weeks though is beyond me 😂
It was tough 😁
@@davecamyt I can believe it!
Nice vid Dave ....id put them wheels your not using on the wall maybe some racing posters ..the wooden track maps on the wall
Thanks for the tour Dave. Its always cool to see what your racing on. Makes me want to get racing again.
Hi Dave, thanks for the tour, very nice setup indeed. Though I personally think Jules rig looked more immersive with the triples, but naturally the colours on oled were better.
As a long time subscriber Dave, I hope the AC gets installed in time for summer, although I enjoy your videos when you are running a tad hot, you crack me up 🥵🔥🤣🤣🤣
That space above the big monitor looks ripe for a Bowens mount video light (Godox SL60W), with a stripbox softbox positioned horizontally
That’ll make for a softer key light than 2 small LED panels. They usually come with a fabric grid to control the spill and still let your blue BG light to do its thing
IMHO, you can't go wrong with a Fractal Design case. That's all I'll buy because I DO NOT want tempered glass side panels, I don't see the point. Hardly any manufacturers are making solid case sides anymore. I have two Define R6, a Pop, and a Meshify.
True, I got the Fractal Design Define 7 XL, and this case is a monster. You can fit anything in it. It will last a lifetime.
Thank you. It’s always fun to see behind the scenes. 👍 PC Specialist doesn’t ship to the USA; so, …. nevermind.
Very clean and by clean I mean dust free you must dust clean a lot because I have to my black desk.thanksvforvthe upload Mr cam.I hope you all have a great day and all the best to you and your family's ❤
Awesome Dave, you should call it “The cam cave” lol. Keep up the great work mate.
Nice video, I was wondering what happened to the Govee Lights and Slip Angle haptic feedback system that you have reviewed in the past?
I'm simracing in front of a 77" OLED. It's awesome!
no haptics? I would miss my slipangle 4 corner awesome room Dave
Afford to by nothing eles so I'm stuck big time ... your one luck guy m8 !!!!!! Just hope I can get a proper rig setup and use one before I have another as I'm massive high risk ........ your one luck boy m8 ... fair play m8 love your cave its amazing
ReaperWare iFlag's would definitely be the cherries on top to finish these awesome rigs!
Thanks for inviting us into your home mate. That room looks like a pain in the arse to clean 😂. Honestly that pc will probably cost over 5k aud. Enjoy brother👍
Hi Dave, I love your content, keep it up! You're a very good racer, I hope to be as skilled as you one day.
Fabulous setup thanks for sharing! I appreciate that it’s designed for content creation unlike us normal plebs. Have you ever thought of motion platforms or immersive lighting (like Hue Sync) just for that extra level of immersion?
Also, do you mind sharing Internet connectivity? Do you need to have some super fast fibre connection for what you do? Cheers from Oz!
i just know that your room is very very hot when both of yall are racing at the same time Lol
Hey Dave
Do you ever find slight disadvantages with the single screen? I know when i went from single to triples i found it easier to puck out certain apexes. Turn 4 Silverstone foe example?!
Love the set-up. Can't wait for the next community race day, hint hint. Keep up the good work- awesome!!!
Great set up Dave. Any chance you can do a video on your recording set up, software, and techniques using the second PC?
Must be nice to have that kind of money!! Very dope setups!! Very clean
I wish I had the money to buy it all. Thankfully most of it (apart from the screens and audio) was provided by channel partners.
@@davecamyt hell, even to have those sponsors.. but I also know that you busted your ass off to get where you are with your channel.. love your channel and can never wait for the next video to get posted..
If there isn't one, hard to tell on cam, then get a dust cover for the top of the new PC!
dream setup ngl
Looks perfect to me.
MINT setup bro ... so jealous!!
Very nice setup 👌 👍 nice one 👍 👌
Love the tour, Dave. If you weren't a streamer/creator, would you still run single monitor or triples? Aka, is the choice to run a single monitor solely a creator choice or have you become such an alien that triples are just pedestrian at this point
Nice mancave Dave 🧡🧡🧡
I see a window, however I didn’t see any AC or fans, surely that room gets pretty warm when you have your main rig and streaming kit all up and running let alone if the second rig is on as well.
I run a desk/floor fan when racing, are you considering anything in the future for cooling the room?
Cheers
There are windows front and rear so it I open them a little the warm air moved quite well 😁
I'm just surprised you don't sit in a bubblegum pink seat :D
In seriousness if you ever wanted quiet PC fans I always go to bequiet!
I don't know why but I always thought that window looked out on the back garden. 😂
Bet you say that to all the girls 😁
@davecamm 12:51 here you could send your new fresh computer to full death, never do this again!
I mean literally NEVER.
When you are pulling protecting film from glass or case walls you are generating huge amount of static electricity, which can cause full death of PC electronics, so never do this while the glass or case wall is mounted onto chassis with installed electronics.
First get the glass off of case, then pull protecting film, "ground yourself" while holding glass to discharge and mount it back.
The worst you can do is to also do it, while the PC is turned on - it is safer when turned off, but plugged into outlet - then it's grounded.
You did also leak your Windows key 🙈
Nice setup, looks optimum to me. Poster of Lando Norris on the wall in front of you perhaps ?
I somehow missed the period when you switched back to 4K TV, when was that? I remember a year ago you did it due to technical PC reasons and then switched back after you fixed it. Seems like it is for content producing reasons now - same screen we are seeing + bonus of 4K TV with DVR picture quality is better
Essentially the same reasons 👍
I'm really torn between triples and a single, I have space but there is a doorway between my pc and my rig so having 3 cables running across isn't ideal
Noticed that you don't have the slip angle shakers on there - interesting....
My mic is attached to my rig so was getting vibration which you could hear. That's the only reason 👍
you definietly need wall mounted QR mounts for your other wheels
If you ever want to clear some space in your storage, let me know!
Mega setup! What about the button box?
I've got the Grid Porsche box but need to finalise a suitable mount as the p1x pro uprights are angled
Great setup and good content you create 👍 which length of elastomers are you using on the heusinkvelds ?
ohohohoho, that cable management is great for collecting dust and its in the hard to reach corner too....ohohoho i can hear spine singing :D well atleast tools are in a box, mine just lay on the ground like your cables :DDDD nice rigs, 4060 powers 4x1440 on full settings? how is the simlab seat now, uve been using it for some time now.... comfy for more than 2h?
Goals
Not really cheaper when you add cables, thermal paste etc. Good value.
Dave m8 I have died and gone to complete heaven please don't wake me ..... ...!!!! I'm sooooooo jealous... my pc is worth 800 and my 4k tv 350 and la prima asetek but would love your setup sooooooooooooooooooo bad but I have had to stop working due to 2 heart attacks so I just can't afford a proper copit money is just impossible atm when I was in hospital I said to myself if I make it out I will start sim racing but were I can't earn money now I can't afford
Need some car art on the walls!
What are your settings in the Sony 6000 and how and where is it connected? Thanks. Nice set up.
Are you going to do the N24? Awesome setup by the way.
No, unfortunately I'm busy most weekends so can't race
Hey Dave, awesome setup, what's the front mount you are using? As that's not the standard simlab mount.
That's the Asetek mount 👍
Hi Dave,
Thanks Dave,
Bye Dave.
What a machine. For under 5k. That will be top of the line/relevant for the next decade easy.
I will steal some ideas from this 👀
Did you get rid of your bass shakers? You seemed happy with them, what changed?
I was getting vibration through my mic as it is attached to my rig. If I didn't I'd still have them on 👍
I used to admire 3 screen setups like these. But vr made flat screen obsolete for me in sim racing
Awesome setup Dave. And of course I noticed that BDH shifter. I currently have the Simagic Sequential/H-pattern shifter. How would you rate the BDH compared to that? Is it worth the price difference?
I've never tried the Simagic stuff so couldn't really say. The BDH is on another level compared to anything else I've used. Yes it essentially does the same thing, but words can't describe the feeling if that makes sense 😁
@@davecamyt Thanks Dave :).
I really like to build my rig in a way that it comes closest to how the actual cars are driven so I use the manual H pattern for the FF1600 class, but it is actually the only H pattern car I drive at this point.
But still..... I does probably mean that I really need to get this shifter :)
Damn nice set up!! What do you do for a living before all these TH-cam thing. I assume you must have a very good paying job. 😊
I guess the slip angle bass shaker kit wasn't good enough to keep on the rig?
It was excellent. The only reason it isn't on is because my mic is attached to the rig so I was getting vibration through the mic. It's a content creator issue so would impact most people.
lovely setup have you got a link to that button box
Yes it's linked down below under rig 1. PSE Pro Switch Panel 👍
I too, am planning on purchasing that BDH shifter and the same profile rig. I would be interested in knowing how you mounted the BDH shifter on the side like that? Does the shifter mount rotate?
Yes you can rotate the shifter so it can side mount (either side) or bottom mount 👍
@@davecamyt dam that’s awesome! Thank you 🙏🏽
thx for the tour. I was wondering about your setup...Have to run AC here in Oklahoma. Gets very hot here in the summer. Not to be nosy but I wonder what your power bill runs in the UK? I too have built all my PC's but this last one I bought from Legion absolutely a gem. Was it said 96 gig ram? Overkill?? I find it difficult to saturate 32gig. Take Care Dave.
I use around £200 per month just on electricity 👍
@davecamyt - Thanks very much for this. I'm running 1080 27" triples, and I want to upgrade to 1440. Do you still feel 27" is the way to go for triples? What is your opinion on flat vs curved? (I notice Julie's rig has curved - which Asus model are those?)
Nice tour! Why did you swap the xp1’s for the vx-pro’s?
I got the VX Pros in to test. They were that good they just never came off 😁
Rig 1 pedals are 'wrong' in the description
On my to-do list 😁
All we are missing is a bar room
Nice set-up Dave. It all seems to fit into your room nicely.
What the curved monitor R value in the triple screen setup ?
Hi Dave. Great content. Was hoping for some advice. I’m torn between 34 ultrawide and the 49 ultra wide. I don’t have room for triples. I know you say it’s best for streaming with a single screen but is the 49 a better choice for size or is it too big. It’s so hit or miss with comments and opinions. I’m looking at either the AGON 49 ultrawide or the BenQ 34 ultrawide. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Why have you chosen a 16:9 over the wide?
I've gone for the 16/9 just for creation purposes and it just makes things a little easier for me. I went for a 48" so even on a wide (for a single screen) fov it still looks in proportion 👍
Did i miss something, why did you get rid of your triple monitor setup?
You did miss something. It's in there, he said if he wants to use triples he uses it and his wife uses it other times. He uses single monitor primarily because it's easier for content creation.
I might have missed it in the video but what do you do to keep the room cool(ish)? I Imagine all that gear and beefy computers running will heat up that room rather quickly
I tend to open a window at the rear and the front to allow a glow of air through the room
You ditched slip angle and govee?
Have to tried plugging in the peripherals to the back of the wheelbase?
Yes it works but don't have enough usb c cables
Did you get rid of the DD2 entirely? i don't pay attention much and thought it was on julies rig
No, still got it, just in storage 👍
how big is the room? I have a converted garage and have about half of it for my office bit, trying to work out if I can nick a bit more for a rig
Dave, when do you think you’re going to go live again?
I don't think I exist in real life now, only in vod format 😁
Week 13 I'll be streaming something 👍
Hey Dave! Man, I know you are in UK, but don't you have a heat problem there? I have to turn a beefy AC on in my Sim / Cave / work room (I7 8700 + RTX 3060TI) even sometimes in winter in Dallas. Cheers mate!
Yeah it gets toasty but if I open a window at the front and one at the rear (in the shower room) I get a nice flow of air 😁
Hey Dave, are you incorporated?
Hey Dave, upgrading my pedals soon. Am torn between the Heusinkveld Ultimate + and the Simgrade VX-PRO. I see you're using the VX-Pro, is it really better than the Ultimate +? Would greatly help me steer my purchase. Thanks in advance!! Hope to see you on track soon.
Both are very different but both amazing. One is much cheaper than the other though so that has to be a consideration 👍
What size monitors are those triples? And what angle do you have them set at??
How on earth do you cool the room? It gets so hot after an hour in mine
That pc is insanely overkill 😂 fair play for wanting *the best*, but you could probably have 80-90% of that performance for half the money
I suppose it depends if you wanted to upgrade again in a couple of years 👍
How do you get in and out of the seat? Looks like there's too much stuff in the way on both sides of the rig.. also, have you considered adding motion to your rig?
The mic arm swings all the way around so the rig is completely open on the left 😁
Hi Dave, your really only running a single monitor on your rig? Thats your main racer?
Yep, every video you have seen is on a single 👍
Dave, you don't run the Slip-Angle 4 Corner anymore?
No, I was getting vibration through my mic (which is attached to the rig)
If you want to sell the slip angle kit I'm looking to buy one @@davecamyt
What earbuds do you use in your main rig? How do you like them?
They are just some old Sony ones as I broke my others. Need to look out for some new ones
What FOV are you using in iRacing? I also race a LG C3, but 55inch.
I have it between 82-85 👍
@@davecamyt Hi, Dave! I know it's a bit late on this one, but now I wonder how far away the screen is? 82-85 is clearly not "true" FOV based on any calculators, but just wondering how far away it is from "true" now. :D
@DaveCam You showed you’re windows 11 cd key May want to blur that as well
Thanks but already activated 😁
Do you not use the slip angle kit anymore Dave
Did I hear you say that you are doing the video capture on a separate rig to the racing rig ?
Yes all done on another pc 👍
@@davecamyt Ah very cool, I Would really like to hear a little more about how you do that? As I'm sure you know trying to split PC recourse between Sim racing frame rate and recording is kind of a dark art. :)
Cheers Dav 👍
