After the interception the coaching staff went full turtle mode and it almost cost them the game. For all the improvements we can look for from Orji, the coaches are not doing what they need to do to maximize his potential. Playcalling is wack, the offensive line can't pass block, stop asking him to straight drop back and pass. He was a 50% passer in HS, how about half-field roll outs to minimize progressions, QB runs out of a spread formation, etc.

So, here's what we all need to understand and accept: Harbaugh tied his wagon to McCarthy and was determined to head back to the NFL once McCarthy was done, Natty or not! As a result, he practically neglected and ignored the QB position for the past 3 years. Thus, we whiffed on Dante Moore and Bryce Underwood -- both 5 Star local products. What about Jaden Davis you may ask? His 5-star status plummeted once he started attending camps and people found out he's small, has no arm, and lacks athleticism. So he's basically Cade McNamara. Them's the facts! As a result, we're stuck with a walk-on QB who shouldn't even be at Michigan; a 3-star QB who should be playing RB or LB; and a 7th year Senior who has never played up to his 4-star billing since he was recruited in 2018. That's what we have! So, we have to figure out how to win with a negative at QB. So far so good! But it probably won't last. Washington will be the best defense we've played thus far. And then we've got Illinois, MSU and Oregon after the bye. That could be 3 L's in a row because all those defenses are better than anyone we've played thus far.

Somebody go look at the last play of the half. Pretty sure that ball (reception on the Hail Mary) hit the ground. Shouldn't have been a FG attempt at all. Not sure why the booth just swallowed the review. On the play that Graham got called for hands to the face, the OL had his facemask, too. Off-setting penalties and play over-- not automatic first down. There was a clear hold later in the drive on Graham again (got tackled for goodness sakes). And the officials missed the clear facemask when Michigans edge rusher had to make the sack without his helmet. That game was not as close as the final score indicated. Minnesota can cry all they want about the off-sides on the on-side kick. Michigan not no calls most of the game.

I think Orji is playing great for a guy with only 2 starts under his belt. Lots of good QBs with more experience throw a pick on a deep route like the one Orji did.
Its hard to have a high completion percentage when no one is getting open. Almost all his incompletions were throwaways because there was no one to throw to. We need to talk about these Wide outs.

Telling orji to breathe is pretty good coaching. Sounds crazy but a lot of tendencies and mistakes are formed by a player trying too hard and playing too fast. You get them to calm down those tendencies and mistakes disappear. Focusing on the micro can help you with the macro.

Devin needs to be our QB Coach; however he’s doing well at broadcasting.
