      First Merry Christmas! Second, you might want to check for head gasket leak, water temps going up that fast that high doesn't seem right. Every N54 is over 11 years old and almost all have seen multiple owners. It is crazy what these engines will endure but at this point we are all playing Russian Roulette slapping monster turbos on these engines and just sending it.

    These turbos are definitely serious! People say I move around too much in my video with my flow max+ turbos. It moves! Potential to make so much power

    I love it!!! I just finished my 6HP28 swap on my car on jackstands lmao. Running the DAW high flow max plus turbos. I’m running the Indy 500 tires and they do pretty good.

    In fairness I have used VTT products billet valve cover is beautiful the billet coolant lines were a good upgrade no more broken plastics. I had a set of turbos go bad and received replacement CHRAs without any issue. Every product can an will have failures that’s not a issue aslong as improvements are made through that process. I guess I need to stop dragging my feet an get my car off jackstands since you already got yours in the road…

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Excited to see a video of this build today guys! Thank you! But a few cliff hangers there with the exhaust and the trans leak then the Coolant Pump but as you went along they are seeming to all be small fixes except a bit time consuming with topping up the trans fluid and exhaust pipes. But WOOOOOHOOO BABY YEA!!! When it went all boosty McMadman I was excited to see it! That is a very Merry Christmas present indeed! One you had to pay for and one you worked hard to get but the rewards are there Andrew! So cool!

    Just need to fit super wide rear tyres, thicker rear axles and change the gearing ratios. And fit an lsd, if you haven’t already.

    Andrew this is my big problem it spools turbos so fast and they are so big they spin the tires so even on high speeds with real tires that were very good before these turbos but not anymore. They are Hoosiers they hook so good but on these I needed to get LSD and 15 inch conversion. Btw drive around for 50 miles atleast before going crazy on the turbos I drove for 200 miles or something, congratulations!! And merry Christmas!

      @@ZeroTo60Tube oh you will not be disappointed. Change the plugs and most likely might need LSD or just some Hoosiers on 17 rims it will hook good since your full weight. Or get Mikey Thomson street r not ss the ss is a bit too hard and will spin, I tried different tires these turbos just really need a lot of meat

      @@ALEX.THE.RUSSIAN i said it before the street r's dont work for us down here. AR1's are a better tyre on the street and that was with ohhrly which is a lot more powerful than the flow max cars. One thing this car does have in its favour, its already got an LSD.

    This is why people need to avoid Vargas at all costs.. to this day he doesn't vett his own product. About a year ago I bought a brake kit thru turbo Tony direct for my A90 Supra. When it finally arrived, only half of the parts were there. When I asked where the rest of the kit was he told me it wasn't working out like he originally discribed so that's what the kit now consisted of. The kit was unusable as a result and had to file a paypal claim in order for him to take it back. The guy is beyond shady..

      haha, we have all been there. Just imagine if you bought a turbo 2J supra 10 years ago and spent like 20k on it. You'd be about 50K up right now..... maybe the same will happen with n54s.... :P

    I see Tony hasn’t changed regarding his dog 💩turbos that he’s sold so many people that expected them to be great! Bloke is awful n so glad I went rbs instead! The DA turbos look good n will be interesting when u stick it on the dyno! Have read some reviews n they seem to cause a lot of heat but time will tell! Happy Christmas N54 community!

      @@ALEX.THE.RUSSIAN just a couple people mentioned it on forums having the bigger manifold creating more heat, I suppose you could get them ceramic coated as they do come apart so would be possible! Haven’t chatted to you for ages lol hope cars all good!

      I believe they would make more heat than a maxed China turbo. However I bet these run cooler at 25psi than a China turbo does at 25psi.

      @@br4d101 yes sir that's true. I have not really noticed that but I have a cold air hellcat style intake hole.in the headlight which has blowing on the back to the turbos as well

      @@ZeroTo60Tube will be good to see the numbers and how quickly the car gets heat soaked or if it even does! The 7” intercooler will help keep intake temps down, my Wagner stepped 5” creeps up quiet quickly!

    Vargas’s Billet products are great, valve cover, catch cans and coolant hoses, everything else I have heard nothing back bad with a few instances of people having luck with them, Vargas’s problem is his lack of respect and the company’s customer service on a whole

    Been on a cruise ship until just now. Wasn't willing to pay the rates to stream while in Mexico for the holiday so the FIRST thing I did upon de-boarding was check to see what I've missed from my 0-60 guys....missed a lot!!!
    P.S. it low key hurts my soul every time I see that E93 just sitting there! I'd love to see that thing on the road someday.....terrorizing v8's with the top down....Just like mine!!!

    nice pulls. if cooling is issue. can try upgraded thermostat. csf radiator + 1M rad fan. when my conti water pump goes I'll fit the mishimoto thermostat. small price for better cooling.

      In Aussie whp that is really a China turbo working hard. It’s a tough one. I will have a better idea on these in the coming weeks and the power curve.

      For longevity /reliability most people go for RB or Pure in the states. Running a larger wheel at lower psi than maxing out Chinas will probably last longer

    Hey mate,
    When buying these from DAW which option was selected so these would fit RHD. I understand the wg actuators are different between LHD and RHD so don't want to mess it up. The options they have don't particularly state "RHD 335i"

    Nice!!! The 28psi is probably a boost spike after throttle closure. I'd love to see a log after its tuned. I have the DAW stage 2+ on my car and I'm almost dialed in, but I'm dealing with a bad injector.

      @@nobodyno1999 Unfortunately I don’t know. Since I’m dealing with this bad injector I haven’t got a chance to get my tune dialed in 100% and then go to the dyno. On my stock turbos with a full custom E 85 tune I was putting down 466 wheel horsepower with 519 foot pounds of torque. But now with the new DAW turbos I’m running a custom E 50 tune and it feels more powerful but that could just be my “butt dyno.” 🤣

      You are 100% correct in regards to shift overboost. It was really only running 25/26psi under wot.

    You got yourself a beast, hopefully you'll work the bugs out with no issues, about your engine temperature , I noticed you got an overheating warning at 116 degrees celsius , I was under the impression that 115 degrees is normal operating temperature for the N54, my car hovers between 110 and 120 degrees in the summer time depending on how much I push it, but even when I reach 120 degrees I don't get any warnings, the fan turns on and brings it down a little, but the car operates perfectly.

      This was coolant temp. Which I really like to keep under 100. I’m not sure how hot it was when the error came up on the dash. As soon as I saw the warning I turned it off and cruised to a stop. The oil temp was still under 90c

    Merry Christmas! The new turbos seem sweet. If the exhaust flanges are solid are you able to port them out or the pipe behind is too small? What a pain. Can't believe they would restrict the flow seemings though a lot of effort seems to have gone into the finish etc. Once you have fixed it I would be interested in some exhaust sounds after they have had some time to bed in. Thanks again.

      Thanks man. The flanges are solid and could be bored out, however the pipe is too small, it’s about 10-15mm before it goes out to 2.5inch. It’s so bizzare they made them that way, but just the reality of cheap products I guess. It was under $1000aud delivered.

      I did plan on it yes, however completely forgot, this was so rush to get out..... lol Its a coolant rad from a PPK car with the AN fittings welded on. One of our wrecks had it, so it seemed like a cheap option and even though it was smaller than most aftermarket coolers, i figured the ducting would offset the size. Need to do some testing on it thats for sure.

    Supposed to laggy he says, these turbos building boost like there is no lag, 25psi already on base map!!! 🤯
    VTT claiming they only had them for 2 weeks and how they got on customer cars sounds proper fishy lol.

      I was expecting more lag. It’s hard to say for sure, but spool was similar to my 17ts.
      Actually they freakin do. The log shows it.

      @@SikaSeeker Maybe if you werent chasing all out 100-200 times. The non plus version would be the go. Mind you, can always just target less boost. These are hitting 20psi by 4500rpm, with such big wheels that is a alot of power at such a low rpm, if they were set to hit 15psi at that RPM range it would be a lot more manageable.

      Flow max. Just because you know they are consistent with quality. VIV can be hit and miss. I also believe the wheels are different on the flow max. The flow max plus spool so well.

    It seems these DAW Flow Max + turbos are showing early signs of solid performance. Looking forward to when things get dialed in.
    To add a bit of perspective (to balance a lot of the understandable criticism): Vargas is a family business, operating since 1978 - 40+ years. It furnishes solutions for VW, Audi, Toyota, Honda, Ford, GM/Chevrolet, Dodge, Mercedes, McLaren, and more - in addition to BMW - for OE replacement products and the aftermarket. It's not a fly-by-night outfit. The biggest controversies with Vargas have been, in the past several years, the result of Anthony (Tony) Vargas being easily triggered/trolled in forums, to which he has had sometimes disproportionately strong responses within the forums. Since Chris has joined the Vargas team, much of that has dissipated, as Chris now more prominently (and more fluidly) addresses the masses on the forums and other channels. But, make no mistake, many of Vargas' products are best-in-class. For example, the Game Changer Full Rebrand (GC F-RB) line of turbos are empirically the best combination of response and flow on the market for the N54 (bar none), for twins - at any cost. Find a turbo that is more responsive and it will not flow as well up top. Find a turbo that flows better than the GC F-RBs and it will not have the same responsiveness or spool characteristics as the GC F-RBs. This is not by accident - Vargas invests copiously in R&D to meet such targets. And, the GC line is selling; substantially. And, many folks who enjoy them aren't the ones who will be posting on forums. They're simply enjoying them (for the sake of analogy, in much the same way that half or more than half of the US identifies as "Republican"; however, Republicans are oftentimes the least vocal or outwardly (e.g., statistically, for example, Democrats tweet significantly more and/or tweet more about politics than do Republicans, but Republicans aren't necessarily outnumbered). Mind you, this is in no way to try to associate any group of persons depicted (those who appreciate vs don't appreciate Vargas) as having a Republican/Democrat affiliation/propensity). Many of the world record holders (including Burger Motorsports) have featured Vargas twins. Even Steve Dinan, who typically over-engineers his solutions for longevity, sustainable power, and response (to and beyond OE quality) favors Vargas turbos for his builds (ticking the boxes of build quality, response, and flow characteristics). th-cam.com/video/7tVNofCCfCY/w-d-xo.html (I'd also recommend going back to watch the entire podcast, for a glimpse into the mind of a longstanding automotive engineer - especially with regard to engine tuning, toward the start of the podcast). I know and understand others have had different experiences, nonetheless, I've personally had good/helpful interactions with Vargas himself and have experienced his post-sale support to good effect (including upgrades and expedited shipment, in the face of a mistake/failure on Vargas' part, in addition to extending the warranty in order to cover matters - all without asking). Perhaps Tony's blind spot has historically been to meet fire with even more fire in return. The opposite seems true, however, when he is approached on the other end of the spectrum. Whatever you may think of him or the outfit, however, there is a reason why Vargas has been in business for as long as it has and continues to grow and do well. And, you can be sure that whatever caricature that's been made of Vargas by some cannot possibly be his normative dealings with all individual customers and all of the large business relationships he and family/team have helped to establish, maintain, and grow for decades.
    All that being said, I'm also hearing good things about the latest DAW turbos.

      There is one on the channel that’s much more relevant. This was a repurposed coolant radiator so it’s a rare thing. But the other vid is a universal one, which tbh I think is better.

    Is there a point fitting these turbos and running just pump gas? Allready have upgraded St1 turbos.

      They will make good power on pump. Just like running a single turbo on pump. As these flow do well up top you can run boost at the top end instead of relying on strong timing and ethanol on the smaller turbos.

    wow mhd was doing that disconnect thing to me last week, i couldnt work out what was happening, i was having coolant temp issues at the same time..... then my throttle body fucked up, i ordered a new one, but reset everything and its been fine after a manual throttle body adaption, just found it interesting liek yours was disconnecting as well during coolant issues, maybe mhd software is broken atm

      I got a replacement too from Southern BM but still disconnecting.
      They blame car's OBD port which is not true cause after turning phone's wifi off and on it connects again quickly and works, for a little while!

      @@ZeroTo60Tube Maybe in the near future! Hopped into a 22' Elantra N-Line with 201hp using 87 octane. Need to focus on buying property here in Ontario (Prices are expensive) Perhaps a B58 in the near future when things are settled. Sacrifices were made unfortunately.

      Siren is normally the early signs of turbo failure. However if you have fitted inlets as well, it could just be that.

      @@johnnybtgd5459 siren is normally turbos on the way out. However people here the turbos a lot more when they first fit inlets. Other thing on my mind is a boost leak, if you are getting a squeal to the siren.

    Mhd likes to disconnect randomly when there are other wifi connections around , I would recommend deleting any other saved wifi connections you have in your phone to maintain your single connection with the MHD dongle

      Depends on the car and what you want to do with it. I will go in to this more in videos, but these come on to power earlier than a single. So makes them more useable more of the time. But a single hits harder up top and gives more exciting feel.
      The one thing on my mind is how cool singles sound, but again in a daily it’s probably over the top.
