Bro thank you for this quick tutorial... i only just got a 1.5 tdci and its at 90 thou car is very clean only few rock chips, i had the car for free so cannot complain as its now my project car.... this is going to help me replace the timing much faster than poking around figuring the process out myself. cheers buddy appreciate your video ... i am going to sub
@@How2FixIt1 I am good buddy, just spent most my career on vag/nissan/fiat/alfa. Not at same time but in different main dealers. Havent owned a ford in 20 years, seem like cheating looking at a tutorial on TH-cam, I am no longer in the trade, but watched a few of your vids last night really made me miss the workshop and the boys. I am so glad it isn't a wet belt I have been hearing about. Thank you mate
@@How2FixIt1 Cool I will probably take longer as its my first one... but with all thease things most of the work is teardown... thank you for the quick convo I hope your channel gets some steam under it and starts flying as you have a very easy to follow videos... no guff Take care buddy VInce
Thanks dude, just about to start one of these and didn't realise it was the same as the berlingo (which I've done before). Great tip on the headlight too!
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm just about to do my first timing belt on my 2015 Focus. It has been done in 2022 by a "professional mobile mechanic" - and the done something wrong. The timing has been moved or not fixed at the points where necessary, and the engine runs bad in a way it's shaking in idle the chasis...
Hi I d like to ask u something..do u know the difference between xwga and xwgb engine because my car has xwga but is broken and i found a xwgb..I don’t know if it will work in my car!
So I’m looking at buying a 2018 1.5 TDCI Transit Connect and was trying to find out if those engines have a wet belt or not. I know the EcoBlue engines have a wet belt, but wasn’t sure about the 1.5TDCI. Looking at the belt you’ve changed in this video, it looks like it’s a dry belt. Is that right?
When i was trying to get quotes and everyone said 2 hours labour and that the official ford timing belt and water pump were £220, I thought £95 for the Gates kit, as they Fordmoco ones anyway, and 2-3 hours of my day would be a better way to spend my money. Plus I get to hear and see everything to make sure nothings is missed, unlike mechanics.
quick and to the point , wish all videos where like this , brilliant , thankyou
No problem. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your comment.

Good luck with the repair and thanks for the comment.
@How2FixIt1 headlight is not so easy to remove on a 2018 but managed without. Lots of wire loom clips on the lower panel to pry out
Great video. Does the Crankshaft pulley just slide off after you remove the 18mm bolt or do you need a puller for that? cheers Murray
It just slides of real easy.
Brilliant. Thanks.
Thanks for the tutorial!

Sorry I don’t know the difference. I wouldn’t think there was much. But don’t take my word for it. Do some research and let us know how you on!

If it’s this engine which most are. Then this is the one that’s fitted.
great video. thank you
Thanks for your kind comment.
Great video! Is this the same engine also on Modeo 2016? I have 1,5 diesel. Thank you!
@Maniosu I believe so. Just pop the bonnet and have a quick look if it’s the same.
Thank you mate keep going
Cheers!
very useful thanks
Your welcome.
Great tutorial what was the age and mileage on the vehicle?
Thanks for the kind words. Sorry I don’t remember!

Should i replace the pulley bolts?
I believe a new crank bolt comes with the belt kit. I always fit it! So yes.
@@How2FixIt1 you reused the tensioner bolt in this video. Is that okay?
Cant see why not. Its not high torqued and its not under stress or weight. If you know where to get new bolts it always helps but isnt needed.
How many nm to get tensioner installed
Brilliant video
Thanks!
A tooth out when tensioning 😉
Does anyone know how many ugga duggas on the crank bolt when refitting😂
It’s not Ugga Duggas it’s digga diggas! LOL
Doing one now but can't find the spec for the pulley bolt
im doing this when its dry next ,car has done 117000 miles
Good luck with the repair!
@How2FixIt1 thanks , was this the duratorq engine you were working on
How did you go about bleeding the coolant?
@@mehere3013 yeah same question here - is this the duratorq?
