      Always enjoy kicking back with a whiskey and coke while catching up on vids from Thebug. Looks like I got a few more vids to watch after this one. You need your own tv show lol.

    thanks for another great video. My OWB has been slipping since I changed to pull start and it was really pissing me off! I took the engine out of the Slayer and ran some sand paper on the starter shaft, it doesn't slip any more, so starting should require a lot less pulls! While I was there I took it all apart to check everything, all looked good so back together for a bash when the rain goes away! I did check the rod and there is no sigh of wear or slop which is good, i'd hate to have to swap to my good second hand 3.3 or the brand new one I have sitting around! As always these videos are much appreciated.

      Pulling to the point of Injuries or no starts means something is wrong.. tuning or to much after run oil to much prime glow igniter not getting hot enough. If all is well shouldn't take more than a few pulls to start

    i rolled when you made the comment about using pliers for the connecting rod, i tape the end of mine but my motor is made out of pot metal and still scratched it up........... guess i should have just returned it instead of trying to fix a defect gonna have to spend 80 for another haha

    Cool video, I appreciate when you reference what interchangeable parts work with different engines. I collect vintage nitro hpi. I enjoy working on them and bringing old school sh!+ back to life.

    Wow I never went through that thing. Glad I never tried to run it. Like I said I never touched any of them. Been in a box for a few years. Happy you are getting them clean and running.

      Hey man thanks again! And I have gotten so many engines over the years that people have put together wrong and couldn't figure out why they wouldn't run lol

    Thanks a bunch for the vids.. Very informative. I will be tearing down my 2.5 4tec and 3.3 jato.. Much better understanding of what to look for in wear and tear and rebuilding process as well!

      No problem! Glad it helped! And I do have full rebuild video on both of these engines. Including how to change bearings connecting rod etc..

      Ill be using them BOTH as reference. Of course, not without a thumbs up first!

      @@sunkilla537 thank you! That really means a lot! And I do mention upgrade for the 2.5 such as a 3 3 crankshaft and losi 3.4 carb best plug is the OS LC3 for both. Run a quality fuel keep you oil 12% or less and run with the Adam Drake method brake in. Definitely helps them in the long run.

    Great Videos, i need to replace my bearings , should i get the original traxxas bearing or aftermarket? im not sure , ive seen Boca & avid but hard to get them in UK without crazy shipping. i found cheap stainless steel bearings , any help would appreciated .

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate to be honest the oem Traxxas bearings are garbage very cheap and should be charged often. I have had good luck with Fast Eddie bearings or SKF bearings also its a good time to replace the connecting rod and piston pin/ Gudgen pin i have full detailed video about how to do it. And everything you need. The same applies for 2.5 2.5R 3.3 engines. And thanks for watchin!! 🍻

    Hey boss your an inovator like me i have a quick question ... could i make my standard glow plug dynamite .21and take a turbo button head off of another .21 engine and shim it to make it a turbo

    • @thebug4046
      @thebug4046  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you can order a turbo button head for them. But as far as other engines? You have to be careful because the squish band can be different as well as depth and Circumference. Not much your going to notice other than paying 25$ a plug

    Hey idk if you would know anything about this but if you do it would be great help thanks so I directly plugged a 6.0V Nimh into a receiver now when I plug the receiver pack back in the receiver light won’t turn on and I am not getting anything when I plug a Esc into it too
