Jason is the man! Headfirst is terrific especially if you like messing with modding amps! A bunch of cool pc boards for building and modding amps. And Jason know great tone!
Thanks Leon! This amp is amazing. I've been eyeing it for a while. It's not outrageously priced but I still have to win the lottery to get one personally. Which is going to happen 😀
Great sounding amp…… must admit I’ve not personally heard of them over here in the uk…. Great tones and playing as always ….look forward to your vids each week Leon
Had a Hiwatt HiGAin and a Ceriatone Hiwatt serviced by Jason... Totally agree HE IS THE MAN!! A genuinely nice guy who really cares about what he does! And this is no exception!! Great sounds and amazing build quality
Wow, Leon! Awesome demo of a incredible amp! And maaaan what a Strat tone on channel2 with V/modern button engaged !! Raw beautiful tones and options! Jason is totally awesome and for sharing his knowledge, what an amp builder and mod master! Have watched his videos on his TH-camchannel. Good vibes and knowledge. Learned a lot! Want this amp
Great review man, Jason’s knowledge is second to none and his work is seriously good. I have one of the first 5 Alta’s built and it is a fantastic amp, so much range!……..and Australian built.
@LeonTodd just got mine a few days ago. I had really high expectations but it's exceeded them. Just ordered an H90 to use with it after avoiding midi for my entire life. It's really inspiring. All my other amps like my Mark IV and 6505 usually stay on one channel, on the Atla each channel is being used heavily
Wow, very cool.. I'd never heard of them, but of course I'm an american. 😛 Sounded great man.. I love all the control they give you and MIDI is awesome. Much better than a pedal board of pedals to go wrong! They really put some thought into that amp! Those Martin Smith pickups in that beautiful LP sound awesome too! You've got everything you need for jamming right there down under sir! :-) Great review sir! I'm trying ro catch a bunch of moles tearing up my grass. I have caught one already. The little bastards. I hate catching them, but they kill my Man, that Hamer sounded killer with your music and that amp sir! You may want to consider it. ;-p Be safe and well my friend and have a great weekend!
Wow...never heard of headfirst! It's got an insane amount of knobs! Oh ok, with those tone shaping buttons plus a small pedal board...you could cover every style EVER!
I agree that Jason is the man !! Would love to see him build an SLO type amp. (with midi) Only problem I have is the audio for some reason sounds like it's clipping most of the time.
Incredible tones, Leon… awesome sounding head indeed! Thank you so much for the video, but the midi ‘dropout-glitch’ when channel switching and feature switching would drive me crazy.
gtcheetah vor 0 Sekunden the layout of the knobs on the front and the nfb on the back remind me of a mezzabarba trinity. sounds quite different though. cool demo!
This can give you the looseness and rough edges that a JVM can’t but this can’t do the ultra tight metal thing that the JVM can do. 80’s rock yes, but 80’s and 90’s Metal? Not really. If I was doing a 70’s/80’s hard rock band I would possibly choose this but If I wanted to be more in the Big 4 vein, a JVM or Mark Series Boogie. I wish someone could get what a JTM45 really does in the clean channel of an amp like this. So many folks call any clean sound “well, there’s your JTM45” but a JTM45 is much more Fender DNA when clean, not a plexi clean. Plus the way the fat ass just falls apart unless you kill the bass when you turn it up to get it to rock. Not saying Jason was going for JTM45 in this amp, it’s just a personal thing I’ve longed for in a clean to meaner channel 1 on a channel switcher.
A strange amp. I am starting to think that I am a part of growing smaller group of guitarists who doesn't need a whole bunch of different tones. Just my tone. Clean, dirty and lead. With just a few effects. Oh well. I prefer to be a freak who is unique.
The idea here is to have a Marshall style amp with all the historic mods ( bright caps/ master volume/ diode clipping/ midi/ effects loops) that basically gives you all the best known tones from light to heavy gain. (Jimi to Van Halen to Zakk)I think ppl get confused, marshall/ soldano architecture. If you like classic Fender (I know Marshall started off the Bassman platform) or Vox tones it’s not that thing. But most tube amps fall under those 3 flavors.
@@Wellcee426 I understand that. It's still a strange amp. New way to do it. I'm sure there are people who will love it. I don't. But there will be people that do. It's clever. And it does sound good.

Good amp, but for it`s price... I would not say it has such a brilliant sound. Yes it has a lot of options, someone could find it useful, may be that`s why price is so high. Personally I prefer less features - more sound.
Channel 1 alone is worth $2000 with the options. I am digging it. Still watching but if the other two channels sounds as good as one. I think it's undervalued.
@@TVoltG Personal thing here maybe, but I would never want an amp with hundrets of different options. All you do is tweak more and play less, I'd rather get a one trick pony who does one or two things very very well and pay 1.2k for that thing max. This amp sounds top tier though, I have to admit.

Seems like a kitchen sink of modded marshall amp tones, all controllable via midi. Nice demo man!
Pretty much!
I'm getting one in the next couple weeks or months so I'm glad there are a few vids to watch while I wait

Leon, if you got this to Cliff at FAS it would probably shut down a lot of the madness on the Forum "wish list" section.
After the first segment the way you had the amp dialed sounded kinda dark to me but when you pulled out the Strat my lord that sounded perfect!
