Seeing Ft Worth in these videos (and in tv shows) the Stockyards aka Northside aka Cowtown aka Hell’s half acre look awesome. Definitely something to be proud of.

I'm from Dallas, went to school in Waco, ended up in Houston after a bit and finally settled down in San Antonio. I just wanted to say that I hope your family felt welcome, and were treated with the warmth, friendliness and respect deserving of all who have made a trip to visit us. In short, that y'all were treated like family, cause in so many ways y'all are family. I mean, it's no coincidence that “Texas” or “Tejas” was derived from a Native American tribe’s word meaning friends or allies. The fact that you would choose us as y'all's destination after making such a long, and I imagine at times, arduous trip from half-way around the world is both humbling and an honor. Despite having never personally been to New Zealand myself, I can say with confidence that y'all's country is exceedingly beautiful with a citizenry that, from my understanding, shares the same sense of hospitality as our own. This along with a truly unique culture and heritage unlike any in the world. Y'all are our brothers and sisters from across the pond who, if we can't get you to stay here permanently, can at least extend our thanks to your family for all y'all do and offer an open invitation to come see us again whenever you can, as frequently as you can. Ya'll take care.

An hour+ NE of Dallas here (outside of all city limits/Grayson County). Grew up just North of Dallas and settled on a small ranchette located in "the corners" area... deep in the Wildcat Thicket, southeast of Sherman. You expressed everything I would say to our New Zealand family. I too was flattered they would choose Ft.Worth as their destination. Well worded. Well done.
Probably will never get read, but fun TX fact for the NZ family...
      - If you entered Texas at Matamoros, Mexico and drove North to the Texas State Line Monument north of Dalhart... the shortest route by car is 885 miles and would take you about 13.5 hours to complete. El Paso east to Texarkana, just slightly shorter.

And yet pride is one of the 7 deadlys lol. I'd be impressed if the people in my state started acting like actual Christians like they claim to be lol. Instead they brag about wanting to shoot n kill people that steal a crappy walmart tv they got on black Friday for $199 🤦🏼‍♀️. The only decent people I've met in this state are the ones who came from other states. Having sundown towns and KKK actively recruiting don't really make a state that great. And not just the klan recruiting but former headquarter cities

I grew up with the Hyer family that is the inventor of the cowboy boot and made boots for all the famous movie cowboys. In their shop they had "lasts" (wooden models) of the stars' feet. They had John Wayne, Tom Mix, lots of others. But, if you wanted to see some incredibly fancy cowboy boots, that family had them.

I spent a couple years conducting tours of Dallas and Fort Worth and bringing guests out to the Stockyards. I’m so happy you got to experience the Cattle Drive. It’s hard to explain to others how cool it is because the idea of watching a herd of cattle walk down the street may sound dull. But it isn’t. It’s so unlike anything you have ever done before and it has nothing to do with technology. I could tell by the looks of wide eyed amazement on your faces, that it was an experience you’ll never forget. Good job! Come back any time :)

Texan here. One thing you should look at next time you're here, or react to in a video if you're curious, is the renaissance festival. It takes place in a town a bit north of houston that has a giant medieval themed fair ground and people dress up as knights or elves, lots of concessions and shows. Would recommend for a fun visit but it only takes place in a certain time of the year (october through december weekends)
