    Dude, IME propagating anubias they tend to take a while to settle in & then all of a sudden? Out of nowhere, bam! The plant gets bigger & bigger until a mother plant is formed. Give it a go, man. There's just something oddly satisfying about holding a huge mass of anubias in one's palm!

    Wow amazing setup. I wonder how you can keep all of the box in high humidity? Do you have automatic pump timer? or any action to keep good humidity condition every day?
    Thank you.

    Love the channel my man! Question, do you add ferts in the water as well as spraying?!?(if so whats the ratio and how often do you do water changes). And is it with the 9-3-6?
    Thanks my man!!!

    Great video update Will. I noticed you had water just below the hydroton in your containers, is that the same in your tank setup with all of your plants or are you just sticking to the spraying only.
    I'm wondering long term if spraying only compared to having water at the line of the Hydroton in conjunction to spraying is better for growth.

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is actually a bit of fertilizer water at the bottom but only a small amount to begin with. As you spray the plants thought the fertilizer solution slowly builds up at the bottom and eventually the plants are in a pool of fertilizer solution. Ive found that Anubias doesn't necessarily require as much water under them as Java Fern does. This is a good thought, I am always looking at the differences in setups and trying to discern what pros and cons come from each setup. I will have more information to report in time :)

    I am working on farming nana petite. You mentioned using an evening spray of higher concentration of aquaponics fertilizer. If diluted to recommended amounts on the fert concentrate pkg, would you consider that diluted for say Java fern or high concentration for Anubias? If not, how much should I increase the mixture for anubias. I also just changed my lighting around per your recommendations. You’re one of my favorite channels and are inspiring me to play with more immerse grown favorites just for the experience.

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. It is difficult to say for certain what concentrations to use as all fertilizers are different. But, in general, for Anubias, mixing solution to the package recommended hydro concentration should be about right for spraying Anubias at night. I would go with .5 to .25 concentration for the morning spray.

    Really fascinating. Does anubias have a different emersed vs submerged form like other amphibious plants? Do they need to adapt from submerged to emersed growth and vice versa?

    Hi, I'm a fan from Thailand and I am trying to propagate my anubias emersed in a tube just like you. my anubias and java fern don't seem to grow so I wonder does temperature matters? though I keep my tube in a room, the temperature gets pretty hot here during the day (30-sih celsius).

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They grow very slowly so you may need to give them more time, however, 30 C is getting pretty warm. You might need to allow for a bit of air circulation, just make sure they don't dry out too much 👍

    • @nckpp
      @nckpp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AquariumPlantLab thank you very much for your advice! i will let them grow in closed tube for a couple more weeks. if they dont seem to grow or too little i might just let some air circulate through the tube.

    So you have to use foliarspray everyday for all your plants?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the setup. Soil based doesn't need much foliar spray. If using a static hydroton setup then plants definitely benefit from foliar spray. The more consistent with the spray the more successful in general. 👍

    is there difference in growth rate if you use different substrate ?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely. Each substrate comes with pros and cons. I like hydroton because it is clean and easy to work with. Soil based setups tend to grow faster but they are far more messy to work with.

    What is foliar fertilization?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I really mean is foliar spray. It is a dilute hydroponic solution that I sprayed on the leaves of the plant. Most plants can absorb nutrients through their leaves in addition to their roots. So when you apply nutrients to the leaves you can get more nutrients into the plant, in many circumstances.

    Is indirect sunlight enough for the anubias?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, should work great. Just pay attention to the plants. If not growing much I would try to get them more light. If they are looking too dry then move to less.
