It was still an amazing port. The 1Meg upgrade would probably have made it a bit better in terms of animation but the gameplay was spot on. Also, the sprites weren't really that big when you consider that the view port of the game only takes up part of the monitor/TV screen. It's been stretched out to fill the TH-cam player so they look bigger than what they actually are.
Way better than the clunky mess that was the Megadrive version. The Amiga port had much better hit detection and was more fun to play. Great music too!
Stop lying, This version sucks lol! Dull muted colors, constant slowdowns, low framerates, bad sound quality, fewer enemies on the screen, missing levels, rycyle stage music
I never know how to read his name should it be Death Adder or Death Equal Adder? Haha, never mind the detail, still this game probably much better than the modern version of Golden Axe Beast Rider.
i think i prefer this music to the megadrive version (the rythm feels better to me). i didn't watch the whole video yet but it seems there's more colors. It also feels like the animation and the gameplay got screwed.
bl00derly Amiga has always been superior for audio than contemporary consoles and way ahead of PC. It was limited by CPU with the A500 and the more powerful Amigas came too late to save it. I had a A500 with external floppy drive and 1Mb RAM and loved it.
The game actually plays much better than the Megadrive version due to the fact that the hit detection is far tighter and more accurate. I had this Amiga version first and then I got a loan of the Megadrive game a few years later and I couldn't believe how slow and clunky it was.

17:58 is SO FREAKING ANNOYING and its like EVERY BEAT'EM UP ON AMIGA suffers from this. You just regained control of your character after dying and enemies ARE ALREADY BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. Game Design 101: Give a period of invencibility after player loses and regain control of its avatar, so it doesn't get attacked even before it can move/defend himself. Amiga coders could be great coders, but most of them knew shit about game design.
To be fair, in this case it's more that the player's "re-appear" point happened to be close to the enemies. If you look you'll see that when the player gets knocked over the enemies stand still. Also, I think you are underestimating coders' game design skills. There's so much that goes into these sort of games that you just don't think about. so saying that one flaw makes them bad game designers when everything else is so good is a bit off. Granted, when the player re-appears the enemies should fall over, but as stated - one flaw in an otherwise fantastic port.
@@nebularain3338 You still need to give the player some period of invencibility just after you regain control of it.
