Babyface you are a living breathing musical genius and I love the honesty in this interview as well. Geniuses are usually very shy and some very insecure because they are perfectionist at the heart of it, and they are also their own worst critics and that is why they create magic. Barbara Streistand is also on another level as well. Babyface should have a music award dedicated in his name for those who are exceptional in the musical arts. When are we getting a documentary on your life? Do it while you are still alive so no one else tell your story.

Stating that Sir Paul McCartney,Jam and Lewis and Stevie Wonder were his greatest influences is definitely why they inspired Babyface into a awesomely unique songwriter as well a top notch artist too. Definitely in my top five favorite artists.

This interview has to go down as one of the greatest interviews of "Kenneth Babyface Edmonds".
Toure is an exceptional interviewer who interviewed a genius as if it was a conversation, and delivered a masterclass of questions for a classic episode.
I thought I had heard most of the singer songwriters story, However Toure manages to pull out more knowledge and understanding not forgetting the wisdom in his profession, that is from one of the greatest and most prolific songwriters of our time.
    This interview is pure class.
    Thank you.🎉🎉

Toure you are a special kind of talent. I've learned more about baby face in this interview than seeing him in all others put together. This is definitely a good platform for your natural expertise. And I believe that you can definitely be at the top of the mountain of Grios of celebrity entertainment in all areas you wish to interview. Your reputation is stellar in the eyes of those who know you. Your subs should reach the multi million marks eventually if you keep the pedal to the metal. As your team grows so will your popularity in this particular medium. But this medium for you is the best equalizer for you to reach your maximizing purpose. For you are a talent with purpose, not ordained by your own person but by your CREATOR who wrote your book b4 your birth. Entertainment cutting through the minutia of the industry, can be seen with the geniuses of many generations but especially 20 & 21st century icons during our and b4 our times. Toure seek out our living legends, every one you can muster barring ethnicity but also focusing on the many descendants of slaves whose genius transcended the oppression meted out to them and won over the oppressors and the oppressors children, which made it a plus for easing the oppression from us to enable the opening of more doors for us and the country as a whole. I sense you've had your difficulties as every human person and creation as a whole has. But after every difficulty there is relief and then difficulty again and a consistent cycle of the two. My overall point dear brother is that you are definitely on point. Glad to subscribe and like and comment. This is a diatribe of encouragement in the only way my intelligence can muster. My apologies for it.

Smokey's lyrics were more commercial, mostly tried and true Motown products. His lyrics were tight, but mostly similies. I love Smokey and seen him in concert at least 3 times, but Babyface's songwriting is a little more complex than Mr. Robinson (and I say that as a hard-core Smokey fan and child of the 60s). The first 45 I ever bought was The Temps' "Ain't to Proud to Beg" and the first album was "Smokey" with "Quiet Storm," "Baby Come Close" when his writing was much more complex. Anyway, they should CREATE a Smokey Robinson songwriters award ("My Girl" alone qualifies him) and Babyface could be one of its first recipients.

Many people will click on this video when they see her name, thinking that he's going to be discussing it....But all Babyface says is she has a unique voice. Those of us who truly loved Whitney find a deep sorrow in that great loss, her treatment by the media in regards to her legacy and lack of recognition. People forget she was also a patriot (she poured every once of herself into a free concert for the military during Desert Storm). Long story short, there's a lot of PAIN when we think of Whitney. Maybe when there's a movie or documentary that gets it right....There's also sadness in the fact that she was one of a kind, didn't leave us with nearly enough music, was so beautiful (inside and out), had so much yet to give, and left us WAY too soon. Basically, it's heartbreaking to speak on our beloved Whitney.

Really good interview. Toure' & Face you did a bang up job. People LOVE authenticity and thoughtfulness. Introverts don't blurt things out. Writers are measured and very aware of the power of words and will THINK before they speak. As a fellow recovering shy person, I applaud your ability to perform before thousands as well as do one on one in-person interviews (which is more of your comfort zone). So glad when you came out and began performing not just your hits, but, all the amazing hits you've written for others. You deserve to stand and take a bow and feel all the love and appreciation for sharing your amazing gift. BTW, "Everytime I Close My Eyes" was played at our wedding. We once celebrated an anniversary with dinner by candlelight and Ms. Baker's "Sweet Love," so many fans were pained by the recent tour "disconnect" and wish you both the best. Love you, Brother!

Babyface stole two songs from a Minneapolis song writer/producer Robert 'Red' Scott. Mary J Blige's not going to cry was ain't going to cry and one of Toni Braxton songs. Red trusted babyface with those songs, and that he was going to do what he said and he wronged that man.

Bullsh!t. Why didn’t the guy sue if that was the case. There are copy write laws for that. 40 years in the business and Babyface has never been accused of stealing song.

Arista was the parent company of LaFace records. They were the ones that controlled budgets. Also Pebbles managed TLC and they were under her production company. Toni Braxton did not sue Babyface. And on and off she’s been performing happily with him.
