Yes he an unsung hero with arthritis now...supported the Queen for years..as did Gerald Lascelles Lord Harewood, Queens cousin. They did heaps of bread and butter work for the Queen...

As a Senior citizen American, I would like to say how much I enjoyed watching this "Trooping of the Colors" God bless King Charles and all the Royal Family.

Every country has their ceremony, but with the UK still incorporating their mounted horses and traditional uniforms, they really honour and display their splendid history. I just love seeing the Royal Guard on horseback.
Fun Fact: Joseph Robinette Biden was the only Colonial Satrap to pledge his vows to two different Ruling Monarchs - Empress Elizabeth II and Emperor Charles III. He is a very Loyal guy!

King Charles was riding Noble.
The 3 people behind him on horseback were Prince William, Princess Anne and Prince Edward. X
William, Anne and Edward were relaxed and riding with loose reins. Calm riders, calm horses. Poor Charles looked a bit tense, rode with short restrictive reins, and hence his mount Noble was not relaxed. Charles is an extremely experienced horseman, but I think his nerves went down those reins today!

I agree ...I love our traditions but unfortunately there are so many younger people who vote to abolish the Monarchy and would prefer a Republican country! I find that sad because we are pretty unique ..many tourists come to the uk because of the Monarchy and the pomp and the history...being an republican country the tourists will not visit like they do now! ..if there ever was a referendum I fear that we would lose our Monarchy ...many think it will be a better country but I disagree I think it will ruin this great place and take away the future of them traditions that would become part of the history! Princess Anne is an equestrian Olympian, so poo-poo her all you want, but at 72 years of age, she still works every day after most people have long since retired. Most days she attends 2 or 3 engagements, representing the United Kingdom with intelligence, humility and diplomacy. Take a look at the list of patronages she holds. She is deeply involved and represents every one of them with knowledge and sincerity.
You will never know the amount of dedication that requires.

Really feel for the horses sticking this boring nonsense out, it's the wrong time of year, too hot, and frankly looks totally outdated with echoes of Edwardian children riding in carriages waving to the tourists. Much like Will and Kate's tour in the back of a landrover in Jamaica, this needs rethinking.

Beautifully executed. Very pleased to see that the King managed to calm his slightly excited new Canadian horse, Noble, on her first state occasion. Also to get another sighting of the famous Red Plume!
Noble was definitely on her toes as we say bless her. She was calm until the music picked up and she just wanted to go but King Charles sat her quietly and calmly. I loved the way he kept gently patting her neck to let her know she was doing OK. She is going to be a very fine mount for him with experience in future parades. ❤

Just a shame the cameraman forgot to focus on the King! The royals on horseback were cut out a lot of the time, so we missed a lot of the salutes. He kept zooming in on the kiosk!
The camera work was confusing. I’m wondering if the King’s horse was even wilder than we saw and the producers were trying to be respectful.
It would have helped me if they had a commentator stating who was who, because other than William and Anne, I couldn’t tell any of the horse riders apart. Or - they could have written it on the screen as they often do. I did love the whole thing though, the precision and timing of the marching and procession was simply amazing.

Trooping the Colour is always a stirring & spectacular event , love it. Great to see the thick crowds up & down the Mall enjoying the parade . The balcony certainly misses Queen Elizabeth and the family bravely & staunchly carry on as best they can and have my respect & admiration for their sincere efforts . The King especially should be admired for his dedication to the traditions .. to ride horseback up & down the mall at 74 with a very bad back is remarkable . I wish the king well ,I wish for him to succeed in his reign and prefer to send out positive vibes on his behalf . We all benefit from a successful monarchy, not many benefit from constantly negative critiques . 🇨🇦

Fabulous traditions & pageantry. I can see why England will never abolish the Royal establishment.
