    Hey dude, thanks for uploading this tutorial, it really helped me figured out how to make a text box system like this in a game i'm working on, so thank you for that!

    i just used an alterable string with a counter (that just shows/hides the text box). when you press up while on the dude, the counter goes up by one and shows the txtbox, and depending on what char. you're on, the icon for them changes direction (32 npcs per screen basically) to show their face, and the alt string changes to the string for the npc

    your tutorials have been helping me alot ! can you (please) make a tutorial on how to make an online game , but indsted of an online game where you can make your own server there is just 1 server you can join ?

      I'll put it on the list, but I have very little experience with online features in games. I'll have to do some research first.

    Hey! When i was trying to change the global value in the event editor, the special object was not showing, even with all the events and objects showing. Any help?
    Edit: Also can you make a tutorial on how to make automatic scrolling clouds?

    I have a small problem, in my game I have dialogs where there are long spaces without letters, but even so the audio continues to sound as if it were speaking, any solution to that?

    Does anyone know how to change animation sequences while talking to your npc? I'm coding a little point and click visual novel game (Its for a project), and I want my character to have a different expression based on which paragraph is being displayed. It will change to one of the frames of said animation, but it doesn't change the animation sequence (AKA, she doesn't look like she's talking). It's super inconvenient, especially because I want her to have more depth than just your average NPC. Anyone have a fix for this?

    in that last part, you could've just used the timer already in the event editor (it has a delay function) rather than making an alt value for it.

    If you have only 1 dialogue on frame then yes this will work any more tho and it will glich and bug
    So if anyone knows how to have several of these please let me know

    so basically, 2 things.
    1. how do i get the text to play on its own, and automatically switch the paragraphs after a certain amount of time, mainly for basic rpg cutscenes and stuff
    2. the text keeps playing the last paragraph when its supposed to be finished. does anyone have a fix?

    You can do a lesson about dialogs, where there are several answers. In the style of dialogues RPG or visual novel.

    Can you work on screen resolutions? Finding it difficult when a pc is 4:3 and 16:9.

    I tried this and it worked. However, when I make a new set of dialog for another character (With another global string) it doesn't work. Well, it works ... but then if you talk to another character, its buggy and the text does not work or appear and many events in the line don't work anymore. So I can talk to guy 1, it's perfect. If I go to guy 2, it bugs like hell. But if I talk to guy 2 first, it works ... then to guy 1 it bugs. I don't get it.

    I can't seem to get this to work on my RPG project. The text never shows up. Is there something I'm doing wrong? The only difference I seem to have is I dont have a platform movement object with my rpg. Should I?

      Thank you for responding. At 2:23 in your video you run the application and see "Hello hello" on the background. I don't see any text on my background, despite you having only done two things at that point. I'm new to cf so I'm a little confused.

      I have had the same problem and in my case the solution was really simple and stupid :D my frame's width is quite big (around 12k pixel), and my window's size where you actually see what is happening is 1024x576
      soo the problem was (in my case) that i put my string far from the start scene, (somewhere around at 6000pixel) and i forgot to check the "Follow the frame" option under the string's properties :) sooo when i moved.. the string moved with me... it didn't follow the frame.
      (string object -> properties -> run time options -> scrolling option -> CHECK Follow the Frame :)
      i hope i could help :)

      Yea for me the string just won't show at all.
      The same thing happens with the score too.

    How did you do the typewriter effect?

      The type writer effect uses the line of code on line 31. When the internal flag of the avatar is set to "On", this command loops every .10 of a second. When this flag is turned on, text appears at the same relative speed (.10 of a second). He also set it so the sample sound of the typewriter plays every .10 of a second. The typewriter effect is just a sample he took from the internet. You import the sound using clickteam, and boom...typewriter effect

      brokenpuppet128 The easiest thing to do while still following the tutorial is to just set the text glitter string to the value of the string object text

    Can u make a tutorial of making more of the same enemy in a platformer? For example, right now i need to clone the same enemy and also its "playerscan" rectangle Im using for them to spot the player without them buging out and reacting because another enemy spotted the player. I hope that make sense >_> Also very nice tutorials, have helped me alot :) !

      Yeah. I can do that. You are going to need to use IDs. It's somewhat complicated.
