I worry that like other games that came out recently they're greatly underestimating the number of players that are going to be showing up to play the game. Dozens of players per server? They're going to need a ton of servers then to keep up most likely.
every single multiplayer game messes this up. they wanna save money so they under estimate the servers they need, then a million people try to play and they struggle for a week to get the servers up. i cant imagine it saving them money... i feel like it actually costs them money due to the refunds and people reading press talking about not being able to play. just over invest for the first week then scale accordingly
@@imcartermatic you only get one chance to make a first impression.. it's as true for games as it is for many situations. sure they can always open up more servers after the fact but they'll always have that stain on their credibility and Funcom already has a big enough stain on theirs from their bungling of Conan Exiles time and again so they seriously need for this game to be a huge win.
So if I got it right, every place is an instance that players travel with an "ornythopter" in a 2d transition map. And every area is a different server? I've watched the whole video but I didn't get it....
@@P1DZz that's what I love about Dune idk if you've read the books or watched the movies but yeah they definitely captured a unique futuristic yet primal aspect. Well I mean sure dine is set thousands of years into humanity's future but still it's very primitive yet futuristic.

Yeah ark has been out longer than Conan yet they don't have any good building textures like in Conan and they don't have hardly any home decorations etc like on Conan. Sure I love the maps and the animals but I don't like they have ironman like suits and mechs with prehistoric creatures
The only sad thing is... its funcom behind this MMO... they gave up on Anarchy online, and then they gave up on the Secret world when they had something special there. Also the company is bleeding money right now. if you add all these things together I would hesitate to get this game.
what we want: massive full realized MMO with legendary story and scope that fully immerses players in a mysterous land filled with secrets and discoverable artifacts. what we are getting: a procedurally generated roguelike / loot and escape
I disagree and Im sure most of my guild would also. I want a dune themed Conan Exiles with the social aspects and persistency of a MMO. This is what we’ve been promised. The roguelike aspects will be for PVP in the deep desert. Who knows, the POIs in the deep desert may actually contain lore and interesting things to discover. We simply dont know at this point. Personally I’m more excited to explore the Haga Basin. Thats where a lot of handcrafted content will probably be.
@@jewpoc well that comment makes no sense but: this is the deep desert…. a PVP zone. no one is going to be going there looking for lore or complex quests. stick to Haga Basin and other tbd locations for those things?

Sounds like its going to have a ark problem with big tribes running a whole server and proventing you from playing i think they should do somthing for solo play to keep the game alive as i olay solo most of the tike but idk have to wait and see hoping kinda wish it was like conan where i could buy a server but ig we will see for that aswell

Dude, this is just a Conan Exiles scifi reskin with interconnected maps. Funcom removed space Jihad, freemen, pseudo Islamic religion and Paul out of the setting in which Paul uses scifi not-Islam to mobilize Space Arabs into a Space Jihad. Imagine removing God-Emperor, eternal space crusades, Catholic and gothic aesthetics out of Warhammer 40K so you get a shitty survival game with one biome. This game is gonna flop so bad.
You have the movies and the books, playing in a world with a being that can predict everything would be lame as hell. I'm not playing a game like that.
Surviving on a Deathworld with my friends as an Elite Guardsmen Squad that got Stranded their sounds like a cool idea. Surviving Deadly Alien Enviroments and maybe some dangerous Creatures and Monsters. Maybe the Locals also do not like you or whatever.
@@amarjamakovic1297 no they arent making a game about pauls story😂 starwars isnt not starwars anymore if your not covering the skywalkers because starwars like dune is about the universe its set in not entirely about the “chosen one” of each story, plus if you were just playing as paul itd be pretty boring knowing everything thats gonna happen
i wonder if you listen to your own words when you read your script because a lot of it doesn't make sense. the thumbnail and title are also criminal 😂 this is 100% not an mmo, no matter how much the devs want it to be, it's a conan exiles type multiplayer with a battle royale/extraction mode tacked on. it's probably just an excuse for them to be always online so they can monetize the sh*t out of it

I've watched the whole video but I didn't get it....
So the open desert draws inspiration from EVE online. Its basically 0.0 sec where all pvp happens and where all the valuable resource are to have.

You don't have to pvp they have said this you can do just pve sections and be fine

Mmo its never to play alone survival games are hard for solo players , you just need to make friends or be a man and take it .
