Oddly enough it looked quite striking with the 4 different treatments of wood & metal surfaces. Personally I would have rust converted all exterior metal and then coated with boiled linseed oil. On the interior metal surfaces (scratter & chute) regular linseed oil is food grade safe. Parts of the chisel work looked like walnut....., if so WHY would you paint it?😊

What did you use to clean up the metal? Steel wool? Did you seal the metal with oil?
