- Cranked arrow deltas have a special place in my heart, thanks to the Draken. The F-16XL is the most down-to-earth of Ace Combat's experimentals - because it's a variant of the most produced modern fighter, and ultimately, just an alternative universe F-15E. And yet... that wing shape will always be striking.
This was a pleasant surprise. Its stats place it as a mid-tier and (by far) the weakest DLC aircraft, but it handles really nicely! Curious to see its stats when they're found. Weapons are nothing to write home about, but more than workable enough. Figure it was only right to bring it the home of the experimental pack trailer music.

"Champ went down crying like a baby" Every time I hear that I get mildly pissed at Full Band. Champ literally didn't say anything when Mihaly blew him up. Were Full Band and Trigger even in the same battle?
In the original draft of the story, Champ was actually supposed to have a breakdown whilst being chased down by Mihaly.
Full Band consistently speaks ill of the dead, so his accidental murder by Count courtesy of Bandog was pretty karmic.
They probably cut it because it felt like a bit of a rehash of that earlier scene with Brownie.
Honestly the f16xl should be able to launch 4 ugbs at the same time
The SPW choices for this DLC are bothering me: I was hoping that, being DLC content they would bring something unique to the table but no, they work just like their vanilla counterpart. Fun? Yes. Effective? Definitely. But not really what I was expecting.
@@stemmarb7r751 Realistically the FB-22 could have special weapons like in AC 5, but the F-22 already had the guided AtG bombs wich was the FB-22 niche
I totally agree. A 4UGB or MUGB (Assault Horizon Lancer-style) would have balanced this plane out alongside the FB-22. Lesser performance, but a unique way of raining death from above.
I was hoping for BDSP on the XL or FB22
They should've let us drop all the bombs on the Pylons.
Honestly with this DLC we've set a precedent that other real world planes are fair game for DLC. I wouldn't be too surprised if the Draken (or, if you wanna be cheeky, Dranked Arrow) showed up in DLC down the line.

They should give us the EA-18G Growler, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the AV-8B Harrier. They’re all already in the game, only used by AI. I hope they add the F-5E Tiger, F-20 Tiger-shark, and X-29 as a set. Another thing they could add are more Ace Combat 3 skins, Z.O.E. Skins for the F-18 and ADF-01, Wardog for the F-14, maybe Cipher and Grabacr skins for the S/MTD. A big hope is that they add emblems that put full markings on an aircraft.
I would dogeza before Kazutoki Kono if it meant getting an A-4 Skyhawk in AC07.
@@Slender_Man_186 - okay, one thing to clear up: the assets for the Nighthawk, Harrier, and Growler are from the same engine as Assault Horizon and Infinity. They need to remake them for use by the player, and in the case of the Harrier, VTOL would be resource-wasting.
@@pmayo7894 I thought they were imported from Infinity? Except the Growler I think? All of these DLC planes sans the Raven are Infinity imports, more or less. And the Raven doesn't count because it was already in the game before release.
I absolutely agree the Harrier is a severely unlikely scenario however.

I gotta say, the Wizard skin for both the F-16XL and YF-23 looks clean though!
General Dynamics F-16XL - a significantly modified F-16, put up to compete with the F-15E as part of the Enhanced Tactical Fighter program to select a successor to the F-111 Aardvark. The F-16XL received a delta wing modeled on the Saab J 35 Draken fighter. The aerodynamic system of the F-16XL later went to Gripen. Ultimately, the F-15E won the competition thanks to two engines and fewer modifications, and thus lower development costs. The F-16XL is known to be used by the "Wizard" squadron based at Heierlark, which also used the YF-23. As far as the standard F-16 camouflage, desert camouflage modeled on the F-16I, NASA experimental colors and the colors of the "Wizard" squadron. Special weapons are Mark 80 series unguided bombs, AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and AGM-65 Maverick missiles.
Interesting note is that the Osean flag is the fin flash even on the 1995 skins. I guess that renders 5's Osean skins as obsolete.

The S/MTD and FB-22 make Long Day a joke, I find it funny that I used to have trouble with that level a year ago.

5:53 the truck went ON a building??
I decided to do this mission with the FB-22, with the homing bombs with reload speed and capacity parts. By the end of the first half of the mission there wasn’t a single ground target left, only a few F-15s that I picked off. In the second half, I destroyed the Ace pilot for the mission, and all of the drones. I beat my previous high score for the mission by a good bit.
I see we've picked the same playground to test this delta beauty! Gotta love how fierce it can look with so many bombs strapped under its wings, and while its own performance isn't too extraordinary (Sharing the F-16C's spot as second-slowest aircraft in the game for example), it's serviceable enough and has a very respectable SP Weapon payload as well! Basic but reliable is the name of the game here.
The slow speed caught me off guard, nearly lost the race against that friendly missile. Thankfully it doesn't really matter in this mission.
It would be nice if we had new missions.
How awesome would it be if they added a couple of DLC arcade missions where you play as Blaze with Razgriz squadron?

Yeah it would be nice for them to release something even bigger than the last three in the midst of a pandemic and probably will cause work fatigue
If you’re willing to drop some extra cash, there are a few DLC missions from a while ago but that’s about it
@@frogogogo yes I know all ready played them as soon as they were out the DLC is a bit crap don't Cate about the bloody skins on the jets just want some new mission because ace combat is the ONLY game type on Xbox and ps4 at this time not even a good heilcopter game is out apart from hind it's a joke far far to many fps out there.

4 had some of the best radio chatter
Pickle isn't really a callout, it's usually "bombs away" or "guns", if it's even announced at all. Most of the callouts are for weapons that can potentially endanger friendlies just by their functionality - so, "fox 2" = "don't get in front of me, my missile can't discriminate"; "rifle" = "this missile is guided on a tank", etc.

With all those bombs loaded under the frame... i wish that this game could have the alternative of dropping 4 bombs at the same time for aircrafts that has alot of hardpoints, like the F-4 and the A-10.... damn, i forgot how beautyful this aircraft looks like.
you can do that in AC: Assault Horizon i think.
@@marchelanonymous3633 I think that only works if you use the bomber... also i remember some planes in AC 5 and ACX are able to drop 4 bombs too.
@@badasstasticusbadass4908 you could drop 4 x UGBS in AC Zero with the Mitsubishi F-1, it made clearing Glatisant a breeze.
UGBs are OP tbh, its range and damage can be increased and then reload time, aswell as hardpoints.

Yup, it can do full PSMs like an F-22, not those half-PSMs that the F-18 does. It handles so smoothly.

I love Spare squadron but a lot of the characters, especially the main ones (Fullband, Tabloid) all sound the same to me. I have to watch videos like this one to see who is saying what.

Those trucks are nuts. Drive over buildings, carry Helios, have integrated stealth (the proximity detection is coded into them, not the sandstorm)... Must be Belkan.
Planes and trucks usually ignore ground collision in all of the AC games IIRC

This is for my ps4 gammers but did you all get the skins for like the su-33 and CFA 44 when you got the pack
The CFA-44 came with the Strigon skin, and the F-16XL, F-15S/MTD, FB-22, and all of the new skins and emblems should be included in a pack together. The CFA-44 and all of the AC: Zero skins released 7 months ago as part of the Original Aircraft series, a separate pack.

Why didn't they just implement the single seat version in the game? It's not like the rear seat and pilot offer any kind of special benefits. It's like in ACAH when they added the F-35B and gave no way to do verticle take offs -__-
I generally agree, but eh, it'd probably be a two-seater if it had ever gone into production. It's an alternate universe F-15E after all.

It should be available on all territories at the moment, both as a pack with the other experimentals (and extra skins and emblems) and individually.

The season pass covers only 2019 releases (most of it).
Is there any game series with a bigger waste of potential than Ace Combat? AC7 was great and all but after so many years its surprisingly bare-bones and the DLC didnt add the things that should have been basic a decade ago. I fucking love the series but seeing it stagnate in mediocrity is a bit of a bummer.
You said exactly what I thought about this game. The campaign was pretty mediocre, plane selection was "meh" (no, 5 flankers don't count as all separate planes) and the best missions came later with the season pass. The coolest planes are relegated to DLC and the multiplayer is utterly dry and disappointing after AC Infinity's awesome modes.
@@echodelta2172 now you ready for my unpopular opinion? The multiplayer should have a MOBA. A MOBA would fit the gameplay style perfectly with bases and outposts to destroy, waves of tanks, choppers, bombers, ships, etc.
