The song is about a book called “Animal Farm” The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer in hopes to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. But eventually power corrupts, even when idealism is at play.
Like several people said this song is based off of the book "Animal Farm" which is also based off of the Soviet Revolution in Russia during the WWII Era. Go back and give it another listen knowing these little facts.
This whole album is songs based on big works of literature, this one being Animal Farm! Amazing album and the one that got me into them. You need to check out Me, Myself, and Hyde. Jeckyl and Hyde song
this was my first favourite song from INK, along with greatest story ever told and it’s so cool to see how far they’ve come. after the silver scream, i think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically!
As others have pointed out, the theme of this album is older literature; this song is based on George Orwell's "Animal Farm". The premise of "Animal Farm" is explaining why communism will always fail - - because of the human instinct to seize power and abuse it - - using an allegory of animals on a farm who - - after their beloved farmer dies - - decide to continue running the farm without him. Throughout the story, the pigs begin to slowly seize power, then begin to oppress the rest of the animals. Eventually, the animals revolt. Time goes on, and history repeats...
Basically animals rise up and take over with the mindset of breaking the cycle and end up becoming the very thing they hate. You see the pig in the end working the steer to death and killing others.
Hey Gibby you gotta check out a song they made called Jason's Mom. It's based on the song Stacy's Mom by Fountain of Wayne with a horror spin. Way different style but so good. These guys have amazing range and musicianship.
I am SO happy that you're reacting to INK! I was introduced to them via Spotify earlier this year and since then, they've easily become my favorite band. I'm such a huge fan of horror and metalcore music, so naturally this just hit the spot for me. I'm glad you enjoy it, man! I really enjoy your reactions. Keep them coming! 😎🤘
This song and video is based on the Russian Novel Animal Farm and its very dark. Essentially the animals rise up and dethrone the humans however in the process become the very thing they sought to destroy.
Definitely gotta check out Me, Myself, and Hyde from Every Trick in the Book it’s about Jeckyl and Hyde. Also check out The Fastest Way to a Girl’s Heart is Through Her Ribcage off The Predator Becomes The Prey INK is an amazing band ive seen them live twice and was supposed to meet them one time but the weather made me miss VIP lol. was supposed to meet them again last May but Covid cancelled that.
@@chrisdietrich8944 they just popped up on internet radio randomly at work. I got excited because I legitimately thought it was new Crown The Empire going back to their heavy theatrical sound but I was more surprised when I saw the bands name. I'd seen it for years and never actually checked them out and was kinda disappointed I waited so long
You need to react to these videos in order! Like their latest album, being based on horror films, this album is based on books and each video is a story if you watch them in order. This song is based on the book Animal Farm.
gibby if you do a song from “safe is just a shadow” (which you should) you should do the re-recorded version, or as they call it, reshadowed ;). it’s just much better sounding and better vocals :) they re-recorded it in 2017 and it sounds much better than the 2010 album
Read George Orwells book "Animal Farm" - this song and video is about it.
such a great book
awesome book and story, but then you realize there are people in the animal farm

Feel like idealism is usually the problem. Know what I mean?
@@chrisarbour i wouldn’t say it’s the sole reason, but it is a pretty big one.
You should react to “The Fastest Way Through a Girl’s Heart, is Through Her Ribcage” by ICE NINE KILLS if you want to turn the clock back further.
That's good
Every time I listen to a INK song I think, "this is one of my favorite INK songs." They're really one of the most overlooked and underrated bands IMO.
brooo I just realized the teacher is the doctor from the whole Silver Scream storyline
Like several people said this song is based off of the book "Animal Farm" which is also based off of the Soviet Revolution in Russia during the WWII Era. Go back and give it another listen knowing these little facts.

And this is why I love Ice Nine so fucking much
The book Animal Farm is about how the lower classes are treated in society and about them rising up

Animal farm was about the Bolshevik Revolution and the introduction of a communist political system instead of a monarchy
