Found this EP (and artist) a few months ago and this EP is still blowing my mind. Hasegawa is one of my favorite artists, hands down. The mixture of Japanese noise music and crisp Japanese acid/lounge jazz is spot on, and Hasegawa's particular vocal register and how he seems nervous and almost out of breath at times with everything going on, like he's trying to just keep up with his music, fantastic. Portions of each track will collapse into chaos and dissonance, but always resolve back into catchy jazz and vocals. It makes me imagine an electronic jazz musician who is supposed to be playing smooth background music in a lounge or at a fancy soiree of some kind, creating chaos in the room and nervously going with it while everyone turns and watches.
