DIY Acrylic Paint Skins and Exciting Junk Journal Project Ideas!!! - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
If I may, I’d like to take a moment to congratulate you on the success of your book! A number 1 bestseller! WOW! 🎉🍾👏 You **deserve** it Natasha! Today another unique project, one many never would’ve thought of. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.
Thank you a million!!!
You've probably heard this 1000 times but I really appreciate the way you show us what each video is about right at the very beginning. I love your videos and your wonderful ideas. God bless you and your family!
Thank you so much :)
Natasha, I love your fearlessness when crafting and your motto of “just why not”
I love the way everything's a sensory experience for you. Even your voice is a sensory experience!
Words can't describe how amazing this is!
What a wonderful way to use up old paint. The one with white, black and gold is simply beautiful!
Thank you so much :)
I think your "mindless creation" is more mindful than you believe, and very much intuitive. And I love how "this sort of stuff" is more specific than "what we do". I so enjoy listening to you, as much as I enjoy watching the creative process. And I am inspired. Thank you!
Bless your heart Natasha! 💞💞💞
Thank you so very much :)
I am inspired every time I visit this channel! Ty so much. Banjo is a sweetheart 🐶😊💗 Never stop " just playing around " 🩷
Thank you so much!
What a fun and slightly messy project! My favorite kind.
I absolutely love how your mind works... from absolutely nothing you crate masterpieces... Stvarno savrsenstvno!!!
Hvala puno!!!
Edit: My way of finishing work that includes acrylic paint is with a little Dorland's Wax. Just grab a piece of kitchen roll and rub a little bit of the wax across the piece and gently buff it off. It doesn't add shine, it just eliminates the stickiness. BUT that has to be the last step. The wax will resist new layers of most mediums. If a skin I'm making rips, I just get a new one going with a layer of wet paint and lay the torn one on top, either matching the main color with the fresh paint or ripping the skin more and placing it on a new color or colors. Let dry - yes, 48 hours! - before peeling again.
Original comment: It's always such a pleasure to see a new video from you pop up in my notifications. Thank you for all the work you put in on our behalf! Edit 2: I love your ideas for using skins. THAT DRESS ! ! !
Awe! Banjo is precious!
i absolutely love the journal covers and the buttons - i remember making acrylic skins lol - time to play again - the Love Letter journal cover is so beautiful - Natasa i would like to thank you for giving us a quick look at Banjo - Like myself i am sure many of your viewers are Furry Lovers - it makes me feel good inside to see him so loved and so secure and so happy - i hope things have calmed down - he is beautiful - thank you again for rescuing him - blessings xx
What a wonderful new idea! I happened to peel of a layer of dried acrylic paint off my paint palette, but didn´t have the idea to do it on purpose, like you did. You are so inventive! It´ s a great gift. I´m so happy to have found you on youtube and take part in the fabulous adventures you invite us to. Lots of love, Britta 🥰
Thank you so much Britta :)
I am so blessed to have found you two years ago ❣️❣️ My darling …, you’re the BEST***
I love the lady piece. It's awesome! Her skirt is amazing.
Tip #1: I usually layer wax paper between skins and keep them in a box.
Tip #2: If only a small skin is desired you can make it on the inside of a lid from things like cottage cheese and it is easy to peel off when thick enough.
Tip #3: Paint a layer of acrylic matte medium, let dry, and then put the colors on top, which make the skin easier to peel off and a bit sturdier.
I haven't made skins specific for using these ways, as usually skins are the result of my dried palette after acrylic painting. It will be fun to make them deliberately.
I love the cheesecloth idea, too, and must try that.
Thank you for all these great ideas for using them.
Thank you ❤
Have been making and saving acrylic skins for years. I keep them on page protectors in 3 ring binders for all kinds of projects. So nice to create the color combos needed or just for FUN.
IF the glue portions of the paint mix is a little high they WILL stick together. Gently use heat gun or hair dryer to warm up for flattening and peeling apart. Too much heat bubbles/melts it.
Spray a Clear coat to finish pieces.
Thank you for the cheese cloth idea!! That is a leveled up method. Great for stabilizing the paint.❤❤❤
Hope things are better with you and the sweet pup.
Me too
The queen of new ideas. Thank you for sharing.
So nice of you, thank you!
Fantastic!!!! Again you have the best imagination, keep them coming. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
My twins discovered acrylic skins over 25 years ago when they were just out of toddlerhood. I think they accidentally spilled paint, or maybe glitter glue, on something unexpected that had a plastic-like/waxy coating (a shoebox lid of some sort?). They ended up peeling off the dried paint/glue and I still have blobs of ornaments that I put on the Yule tree every holiday - shows how long they last. What a great reminder of an old accident, Natasa!
I just love your sound effects 🫶🫶🫶✌️✌️✌️🤘🤘🤘🐾🐾🐾
I made skins years ago for jewelry. Hasn't thought of them for years! So fun, and beautiful projects as usual, Natasa!
This looks like so much fun. Thanks for the idea.
The science teacher in me is loving the space cover! The journal maker in me loves the butterfly. And the seamstress in me loves the buttons. I’m just in love with the concept!!
Hehe I love it, thank you!!
Очень круто!! Спасибо за вдохновение и большое количество идей!!!
That journal cover is amazing! Thank you so much for showing us your imagination working in the wild!
Thank you so much!
I absolutely love your creativity! You give me great inspiration!
Thank you Natasa for sharing your creativity, humor, inspiration and kindness. I GREATLY appreciate it!!!!
Wow, thank you so very much, this is hugely appreciated :)
Dear Natasha 😍This is why I love your channel. You're old school! No fancy stuff! And if you don't have a spatula, I use the cheapest plastic knife available. Tip, baby powder or talc does work to help the paints not to stick. I learnt this from Jennibellie and Helen Wells, over in the UK.🇬🇧😁 Happy crafting, neighbour , hugs to Banjo🐕🇦🇺💕
Wow! I am always amazed at your creativity!
Thank you! Cheers!
I'm blown away!!!
You are a great artist!
I love this idea. You always have such creative ideas and examples. The trick with cheesecloth is wonderful, it really makes it more like fabric. Now I wish I had collected the drips of some paint pouring projects I did with my granddaughter. Thanks again for a fun project!
I love this project. I like the idea of making planets with the acrylic paint skins. I am inspired. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! 😊
Natasha, you are simply the best!!!
Thank you so much :)
Leave it to you to make something cool. On the black gold skin I pictured a cool backdrop for Halloween. Endless possibilities! TFS ❤
I have made skins before. They sew fun. Last time I did not make any thing with them. Now I have som ideas. Thank you! Very lovely.
Wow - love this idea. Your work is so special.
Thank you so much!
Love the first journal cover
I like addicted to your channel...
Can't stop watching your art work whenever I hv some free time recently. Thanks for ur sharing..
Thank you so much 😀
Lovely projects. I just spread glue with my fingers, so I’m peeling dried glue. Takes me back, when we would do that in school. You have endless ideas and inspiration. And I thank you.
I love love love listening to your thought process!!!
I just received your book. What I really love about all your ideas is that you don’t need to purchase anything. You find beauty in everything. Using colors and tags that I would not use together, but you make them look perfect together. Love your work!!!
Thank you so very much!! Please leave me a review on Amazon if possible :)
Like a lot of viewers on here, I also did and abundance of “pour painting” and let the paint run off the sides of the canvas onto a plastic bag that I had opened to catch my overflow. Now, I think back to what a waste….. I could have had hundreds of “Paint Patches. If only I had found you first😂❤
very cool and what a fantastic technique to use up paints instead of tossing the leftovers - BRAVA
Wonderful video! I make paint skins for jewelry, collages, and the pieces that are thin I allow it to rip organically as I’m peeling and use it on a thin wood piece for a book plate. It’s so addictive lol. I love how you’ve used yours. Thank you for another great video. ❤
Love this. You never cease to amaze me with all of your ideas. I so enjoy your unfiltered talks to us as well. Thank you again for everything
Wow your videos are a ton of fun to. watch and the ideas are so much fun and unique!
Thank you so much!
So innovative, thinking outside the box! There’s so much richness and texture, the finished projects are stunning! 😄🦋🧡🎨
Thanks so much! 😊
Totally inspiring! Love the one with the post cards the best!!!!! Beautiful. Thank you❤
Play time...oh yeah. Thanks for the idea.
Hello Natasha, I really like the simplicity and practicality of your ideas❤. I would love to see your ideas on how to make embellishments out of discarded things or where to easily procure them 😊
Absolutely perfect 🤍
Such a great idea, I have alot of acrylic paint to experiment with. Banjo and you are adapting well to each other. He's found home ... he said "hi mom" back😊
Beautiful artistry!
Thank you so much!
Yes! I've done this, not in my journals but in my mixed media paintings and art journals. Thank you for sharing and sparking my memory.
Such great ideas of how to use these acrylic beauties! After I finish my hot glue journal I want to give this a try! I love the buttons and journals and tags! You always have such creative ideas!

Oh my I knew pain could skin but never seen this b4 and using it this way how absolutely fabulous guess I will be trying this out thank you ❤
Brava!! There is a project that I have wanted to create, but was not sure how to go about it; an hour ago, I watched Ceri the Crafter's latest video and the technique he used is one that will help me. Then, this video pops up and in the first few minutes, I realize your technique will give even great detail to my project. So, thanks to you and Ceri, i can now tackle my dream. Thank you!!
I use paint skins for lots of projects, including jewelry. They amaze me😊❤️
Miss Natasa, at first, I wasn't sure where you were going with this project. But you amazed me on what you created, and your mind is brilliant. This project turned out amazing. I mean everything you created is beautiful. Thank you for sharing and God Bless. 🥰💖💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
Thank you so much!
I have used skins in many of my projects but l love this easy way of creating them . Thank you for the inspiration ❤
What fun creativity..using the skin for the ladies skirt amazing.
Every week you make my day. Smiling just watching you create!
I made 2 birthday stacked envelope cards with your coaching from last week. Love love
Thank you so much!
Oh my Natasa! What a great idea. I need to give this one a try. I love the pink one very much. My next choice would be the one you made with us, beautiful. Thank you for a peek at Banjo. Hope he's doing better. He has a great home & will be loved. Be well, be safe & TYFS
I have to try making these paint skins. What a great idea. They look awesome and the way you used them on the front of the journal looks perfect! thank you for sharing.
I’ve never made acrylic skins but in elementary school we used to color the top of our plastic school supply box with marker and pour our school glue on top to make something similar ❤ I’m excited to give this a try!
Wow Natasha, truly amazing you certainly are one very talented lady.
Always love watching your videos and seeing what work of arts you create. ❤
Thank you so very much :)
I have a tonne of paint skins from when I was doing a lot of acrylic pour painting. I had a silicone mat underneath the canvas to catch the paint drips and when it was dry, was sooo satisfying to peel it off. I was saving them for the right project as the patterns are out of this world and this may just be the right one! Thank you for sharing 😊
I just received my copy of Treasure Bookmaking yesterday. Just in time for weekend reading. I just leafed through it briefly and I'm so excited to learn all the things.
Hope you enjoy it! Thank you for your support :)
I’m so inspired 🌱💛
This would make awesome journal covers!
I have never heard of paint skins.....where have i been hiding lol thanks for bringing to our attention......oh wow i love the dress ❤ xxx
What a creative project! Thank you!
Another stunning video with another lovely project. Thanks for sharing.❣️
Thanks so much 😊
Another brilliant idea. I’ve made lots of jewellery from skins but never thought to use them in my journals
Interesting project. I think I'll have to play with some paint. 😊 TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
Oh how I love this idea of yours and then cut to shapes 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Cool technique and great results! Will try it! Banjo is adorable! 😇💖🙏🙌
I can’t wait to make and play with paint skins! Thank you for being so willing to share your creative ideas and projects ❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Thanks for sharing how to make and use Acrylic paint skins. Love the Journal cover you made and other projects. Few years ago I did a little piece of same acrylic paint color but never did anything more creative or used it. Forgot all about it till now. Yours turned out gorgeous.
Thank you so much!
Got my new set of acrylics out and I'm doing some. Did not know about this process. Thank you for sharing. Amazing!
That's the way! Have fun :)
You asked. I made something similar in the past using napkins that were already dry after applying to them diluted with water white school glue. The napkins were thin, sturdy and textured and I just painted them the fun way. But after that I forgot to go to town with finished product. 😆To go to town is what I learn from your channel and for that thanks so much!! I 💌 the 🪶!
We used Premixed pouring acrylic and it worked great. Perfect consistency.

I look forward to your videos Natash! You explain things so well and are a "master junk journal artist"!! ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO!!!
Beautiful idea. I have bottles and bottles of acrylic paints that are drying up and going to waste. Thank you for your creativity.
You are truly talented. Everything you make is superb!
Thank you so much!
SOOOOOO, VERY CLEAVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do take care. Fl., U.S.A.
This is excellent! I've made the exact type skins using nail polish. Once the skins are dry you peel them off the plastic and apply them to your nails. It makes your nails look like they have marbled paint on them. I have a video showing how I did it.
Wow, I have to try that!!!
I absolutely love making and using skins in my journals and altered boxes.
Your are
beautiful. I make mine on my TH non stick mat
I imagine you could use any thin/fine fabric. I'm working on a shoe theme journal, now I can use a skin to make a shoe shape. Thank you. I absolutely love your videos. ❤❤❤
