I run 32s on mine and its pretty capable. also on a side note check your rack ends or tie rods, I noticed when you bumped the tyre with the 35 it moved.

I've ran 33s and 35s on mine and never noticed much of a difference in power, still gets up to 140kph in the overtaking lane when needed, plus it uses a good bit of fuel with 33s anyway so I wasn't to bothered by the extra fuel usage, but at the end of the day it really depends on what the cars used for like matt said, you wouldn't tow a 2.5t camper around aus with 35s and you wouldn't want 31s on a crazy rutted track

With my experience your technique of driving is more important than the tyres you are running! Of course the wheels will improve capability but if you give it to any plain Jane or Steve down the road they will never recognise the capability and test the limits of the upgrade. I had a 90 series with bald tyres and I just used speed through mud pools to get through lol, other guys had proper capable tyres but there machines broke or had faults (PK BT50 and Isuzu/Rodeo) that stopped them from doing anything which also points to the capability of the machine as well.

From a safety point of view 35’s ruin your braking torque. Not mention all the other disadvantages you point out. The offroad advantage is only at the limit.

i run 265/75x16 as the every day on my 80 series and have a set of 285/75x16 muddies for offroad trips etc. I think 285's are best for the 80
also consider your speedo is out with the bigger tyre when calculating your fuel consumption

I have been using 33" M/T tire (285 75r16) on my old landcruiser ute and it gets me anywhere on and off road. I think 33" tire in my opinion is best for daily driving and off road driving. Thanks for the video 👍

What’s your thoughts on 33s vs 32s, I’ve been watching all your videos and currently on 32’s looking at doing the 80 series & 150 series springs alongside the 50mm body lift but worried the car will look silly on 32’s any suggestions would be appreciated. Great video as always 👍
