I was enjoying your video, and then I saw those pretty litlle hands and it made smile, cause remembering when it was my daughters doing the same thing. Now my little grand-daughters who are doing the same thing.Funny how it goes around. Thanks for a lovely tour of your beautiful room!
your daugther made me smile, seeing those little hands in the video trying to get your things. haha too cute! A crafters dream - love the room. thanks for sharing
Hi, I been watching a lot of sewing room tours, trying to get ideas to set up my own little sewing room. I write down what is useful for me and on. But yours is the only one that is everything I need, want or wish to know about this. So , congratulations you are the number ONE!! A happy subscriber here!! Your little helper, cute🙂
i have 2 of those 5 drawer units and the limmon wood table top and created a fantastic sewing desk. those drawers hold SO much!!! I bought utensil trays at IKEA and if you turn them sideways, they fit PERFECTLY in the drawer (you can get 2 side by side) and still have about 2" of space underneath the utensil drawers for more storage. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks for sharing your hobby room and organizers. The Ikea cabinets provide an amazing amount of storage space. I will be getting some of these for a sewing/quilting room I will soon have. Fat quarters, fabric stash, what fat quarters, what fabric stash??? It will all be put away, out of sight, but so organized!! Thanks for sharing.
your room is like every crafters dream! i don't have any supplies yet, but really want to get into embroidery and applique making, seeing your work station i can already tell this is going to cost me a LOT of paychecks to get them all done right hahaha
Beautiful room! I love the way you stored your fabric!! I have the same machine and thrilled to hear someone else love it. I'm looking forward to more of your videos. :)
Jill O. Thank you! We actually moved since I filmed this video and I now have a whole room to myself instead of this little nook :-) That's the great thing with the Ikea furniture, you can always add to it :-) I LOVE my machine, I know a lot of people hate it, but ive had mine for quite a few years now and it stitches beautifully :-)
What a beautiful room! I'm starting out my business and I really need a sewing/crafting room of my own! Right now I have just taken over a part of the living room. Someday! Hehe.
What a great space! Thank you for the tour. It inspires me to straighten up my craft room. LOL Any suggestions on learning to sew? I also have a Cricut and a sewing machine, an embroidery machine and a heat press. I learned the basics of sewing in school but that was many moons ago.
Hi Tammy :-) Try checking around your local sewing or quilt shops to see if they have sewing classes! Most shops do, they will usually have a whole calendar filled with fun classes through out the month :-)
I love, love, love your room!! I'm saving a picture for inspiration when I put my room together in the next few months. I'm not a fan of chevron, but I love your curtains. For some reason, in 2016, grey is my go to color. I bought a huge haul of fabric and got it home, it was all yellow and grey. Very pretty and bright! Did you make your curtains? Thanks for a great tour of your amazing peaceful space!!
I did not take pictures or make a video. It's an on going process. I keep changing how I want things set up. Still doesn't feel right yet. Until it does, I'll keep on changing things around. Problem is, the space is small, and I don't have a lot of room to call mine. Therefore I really have to get creative. 😉
Alison Janvrin That's perfect to share though 😉 In progress in the best....My space up until now has been pretty small....I had to pay for my past space with money made from art so $100 bucks a month was all I was comfortable committing to lol and before that it was like a 6ft x 4ft almost closet room (maybe a little bigger than that idk). hehe It's been too fun recording my process which will also be ongoing...We're creative people. Its what we do... What kind of art do you make? Take care though and good luck with your space!!!
Love your room! So jealous...one day I hope to have a room for my craft stuff. I am really interested in applique. If I wanted to start that , where would I start? I know there is software to make my own designs but any pointers would be great! Thanks!
Brooke Fields Hi Brooke :-) Thanks for the kind words about my room :-) I actually moved and have an entire craftroom to myself now! I need to get a new video up for you all, lol! Applique is a lot of fun :-) First you have to pick a machine, I always say to buy the best machine in your budget. Machines run anywhere from $300 to $25,000 lol.. Visiting your local dealer and trying machines out is really the best way to see what will suit your needs. Make sure the machine you pick has the hoop size capability to do the projects you want to do. For example if you want to make childrens shirts, I recommend atleast a 5x7 hoop, but a 6X10 is even better. Good luck with your search :-)
Those two tall cabinets are perfect. My studio would definitely benefit from those. Here is the video I made of my studio. Cynthia Designs Studio sewing machines tour
Hello there lady, I came across for youtube channel looking for some hard drive for my computer, and I love your sewing room, I just finish mine. Got a new sewing/embroidery machine and wanted to know about the extra hard drive you have, do you just have your design on it, or your embroidery software? I have a lot of things on my computer...silhouette, cricut, embroidery software. Love the color of your sewing room
I have the futura also, but haven't used the embroidery unit yet. Not sure how to. I have the usb cable to hook up but still not sure how to it. If you could do a demo on how to use the futura and how to get designs from the web i would very much appreciate it.
moonglow1948 Hi there :-) Check out Singers website, they have a step by step video tutorials on the basic setup for the machines :-) Just dive into it, you will love it!
Hi I love your craft room it is awesome. I heard you mention your Glitter Sheets. You have a castle applique that I was interested in purchasing so I could use the glitter sheet on it. However, I was not sure where to get the glitter sheet from and what kind to get. I see Hobby Lobby has some glitter sheets Red Glitter Fabric rectangle but I don't want just red I would love to have other colors. Could you please tell me what kind of glitter paper you use. Thank you.
Hey- I love your room! I had no idea Ikea had furniture pieces like these! How did u get your desk set up like that? Did u buy the top separate then add the cabinets under it? thank u for sharing
Jennifer Allen HI Jennifer, yes the table tops and legs are all separate and you make your own :-) They have lots of different sizes to choose from as well :-)
By the way I have the same embroidery machine , sadly never used, I am going through your videos and see if you have some of you using that machine. Will you please make one if not is the case? Please, please 🙏
I will try to make one in the future! Once my girls go back to school, I will have more quiet time to film and can make a video all about the Futuras :-) In the meantime, I would join the Futura Embroidery Group on Facebook, they are so helpful and helped me out alot when I first started :-)
Which components from Ikea did you use for your embroidery machine desk? Is it sturdy and stable? I have a huge Babylock Destiny machine and need a really heavy desk for it.
Hi Donna! Unfortunately Sue Sews is no longer selling online. They do attend the larger embroidery shows throughout the year like Everything Embroidery Market, Applique Getaway and you can get them there, but they don't sell online or in a store front any more :-(
It was a Dell... I no longer use laptops, I use desktops. I have them custom built with multiple hard drives and lots of memory. It’s safer that way when it comes to thousands of designs, lol!
I seriously love this vlog. I’ve watched it multiple times. It gave me inspiration to make my room more organized. I love your space.

Is it a crime now to have money? What's wrong with her being successful/financially able to organize her craft things?
