I’m glad you like the artic chill by barbasol. Sorry that the feather double edge razor blades box was kind of opened. I just couldn’t use the blades on my face. Because they were to sharp for me.
After shaving with DE razors for 16 years I tried my hand at straight razors. I just find I'm so much more comfortable with a DE. It has a level of sharpness and comfort that I enjoy so much.
10:18 OMG you just crossed over to your less dominant hand WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR.... AGAIN, OMG??? That's REAL courage!!! I've used only my right hand for both sides of my face. You are REALLY impressive.

Of everything there is to watch on TH-cam, I'm watching a guy shave. No worries, I found you yesterday and had to look around to find you again. I haven't bought canned foam in years since I discovered non foaming gel.
Im a straight razor shaver and a new double edge razor thanks to your videos so thank you very much. About the question my razor gets a new sharpen every year or year and a half. I use razor strop with diamond particles, with that the razor maintains well. Sorry for my english
Thanks to you I finally went and got the Pacific Rush. Now, thanks to you, I have to get the Arctic Chill. Good news is, I'll have enough shave cream to pass on to my soon to be born son, so I suppose that's a blessing in disguise.
I've used a straight razor for a couple shaves. I could get it WTG and surely could've improved but having to hone it was where it was going to get me. Stropping isn't bad but having to get stones or mail it out to get it honed seemed too much of an investment so I'm like you and prefer the DE safety razor.
I’ve got to find some of that Barbasol Arctic Chill somewhere. That, plus first pass with a straight razor, second and third with your Rockwell, PLUS generous splash of Osage Rub ( no additional menthol crystals needed), probably gives you a rush not unlike schussing down a ski slope on a sunny 10 degree day. Osage Rub is also a great pre-shave splash over water before lathering up. Love watching your videos, keep up the great work!
Glad to see that you got to use the Artic Chill. Has nearly twice as much menthol as the Pacific Rush. If you can find the Barbasol Menthol it has nearly twice as much menthol as Barbasol Artic Chill.
The old movies where the barber would wipe the straight razor were accurate for 2 reasons. 1. With no sink in arms reach it's just easier, in westerns, they would have needed to go to the well pump to fill a basin to rinse. 2. High carbon steal can rust easily and quickly, use some type of mineral oil on your blade after use, especially in such a high humidity area as Austin.
I love shaving with a straight razor, It was my go to for the best shave, sadly I had to stop because every time I started to shave family members would just bust right into the bathroom like Kramer and cut my self pretty badly on more than one occasion. I gave it up as a bad job and switched over to safety razors nothing wrong with them they are fantastic but yeah don't need to end up in the hospital lol.
The 6 Million Dollar Man action figure--I had that one (with the little rocket ship to put him in)! I liked how you looked through the back of his head to see out of his bionic eye. Speaking of illicit liquor, that cloudy Osage Rub looks like absinthe.
I have a suggestion, you should put your alcohol face rubs in the fridge, not only will it feel nice and cool on the face but also it will prolong it's freshness, this is what I personally do and works great.
Never really heard of barbosol until I found this channel. Where I live, for shaving Gillette reins Supreme. Whether it be gel, creme, razor or cartilage razor it is always Gillette. But, never double edge razor handle I guess they don't make them anymore.
After years of watching your vids, last night I decided to use Barbasol Original. Been a long time since I've used it. It was a go to before I began wet shaving. I was surprised it gave me a great shave. Love the original scent!
I used to like your TH-cam videos... Now I just sit there and squint with the volume off... Stressed... You put that straight razor to your neck and I put my finger on the screen and whisper, "Don't sneeze or cough sweet Prince - we need you!"
Ha! Well, you’ll be happy to know that that was probably the last straight razor video I’ll make. Y’all don’t need to be stressed while watching me! Back to the safety razors I go.
I am curious to how Barbasol Skin Conditioner ( Yellow Can ) and Extra Moisturizing with Vitamin E (Purple Can) formula perform. Those cans are not usually seen and popularized like original, aloe and pacific formulas.
Use to use Colgate back in the day cause it was cheap, if I had some extra coin in pocket Id spring for Noxema (see the Joe Namath farrah fawcett commercial :) Great shave my friend!
SinatraLennon I’ve been trying to get sick for over a week and it finally caught up with me on Wednesday. Will stay home until Sun, hope I get better with OTC meds...
I liked the extra moisturizer 🧴 with vitamin E, when it combines the aloe, bark, lanolin oil, 🌸 extract, and Irish ☘️ moss. Also, it is the first time I ever using this product at Walmart and Walgreens before I switched it to pacific rush with caffeine and menthol shaving cream at Albertsons and Stater Bros 2 years ago.
If the razor is well looked after, stropped often and micro corrosion hasn't taken place it will take a very long time for whiskers alone to actually dull it. Stones are used more when edge damage has occurred.
Haha the candy machine was cute, that kind of stuff makes me love being a dad! Decided today that I want to switch to DE. I’m tired of spending $15 for 3 or 4 cartridges and still having stubble, even shaving against the grain. I’ve been binge watching your videos, but still can’t decide what razor, blades, and shaving soap would be the best for a beginner with slightly sensitive skin. Any suggestions for those things that would be easy to find and not break the bank?
Ben Dover A Maggard Safety Razor MR1 and the Omega boar hair 10066 brush are good starting places. I think Stirling has good soaps for a decent price, although you might want to get a soap from Razorock bc some of their stuff is even more inexpensive. As for blades, Derby are known for being very mild, while feather blades are very sharp and more aggressive. I use Astra blades bc they’re a good balance of smoothness but still having a good edge. If you get the MR1, 10066 brush, Stirling soap, and astra blades it would run you around $50! Hope this helps.

Absolutely nothing wrong with canned foam, i personally prefer soaps and cream's, but ive used gels and foams in the past and some of them are very good.
