  • This is round 7 of the 2003 Chevy Trucks 125cc AMA Motocross Championship from Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, NY.
    Returning 125cc contenders like 125cc sophomores Billy Laninovich and Eric Sorby, former 250cc riders Ryan Hughes and 5-time Arenacross champ Buddy Antunez, 2001 125cc MX champ Mike Brown, Grant Langston, 125cc East SX champ Branden Jesseman, Brock Sellards, Steve Boniface, Michael Byrne, Stephane Roncada, and defending (and 125cc West SX) champ James "Bubba" Stewart battle it out for the 2003 Chevy Trucks 125cc Motocross Championship. After spending 2002 in retirement due to tons of concussions, Ryan Hughes makes a return to professional racing in the 125cc class for the first time since 1995, and his first pro season since 2001. Watch 125cc moto #1 as James Stewart crashes while leading, and is forced to ride the rest of the race with a bent front brake lever.
    Enjoy.

      I think I see what you mean since there is an author by the name of Langston Hughes.

      That's been about the only thing that would've put James on the other 125cc riders' levels -- a mechanical problem (or crash).

    Too bad James and RC did not turn pro at the same time, and race 125's as rookies against each other.
    I think e missed some good racing,----God! :)

      Possibly, but I still think Ricky would have gotten the upper hand over James no matter what.

      Well, that's a great shame. Hopefully you were able to go to Binghamton though.

      @@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames No, Bingham is even further away from NYC where I live.

      @@vinceedwards3978 Dang. I think Washougal is the closest (or perhaps Glen Helen, Pala, or Hangtown) for me, being a resident of Hawaii and all. I've had no interest in attending a Motocross race since Chad Reed's 2011 failed run at the title.

      @@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames Well, that is a crazy commute to a race! I have been to the 'Dilla, but in the late 80's during Rick Johnson era. I have been a fan of the moto since the 70s. I was a 125 rider, so my guy was Mark Barnett, plus he rode Suzuki, which was what I rode back then

      @@MathewVsSportsMediaandGames The last race I was at was the 2014 race at Met Life Stadium. That was the race when Stewart tweaked his knee in a muddy 180 left hander! I was on the other side of the section....the sound the Stadium made when that happened.....so sad.

    I agree. Me and my dad despised him when he was growing up. We finally started to warm up to him this year. He is finally acting like a normal factory guy

      (Old reply must have been wiped out)
      Seeing Stewart turn the 125cc class into a total snoozefest was NOT fun! I was glad to see him leave the 125cc class because racing got good again!

    Out of curiosity, whats the beef with Travis Pastrana? *****

    • @MathewVsSportsMediaandGames
      @MathewVsSportsMediaandGames  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ryan R I just feel like Travis is a bad example for the Motocross world because he never listened to anyone and just wouldn't let the Freestyle go and went against Suzuki's wishes numerous times.

      Gotcha

    • @MathewVsSportsMediaandGames
      @MathewVsSportsMediaandGames  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I strongly believe Travis is the worst addition to the sport (outside of Jason Lawrence) because (not like Lawrence), Travis would not let his injuries fully heal, or put the same amount of effort Ricky put in through the years.
