- Today we're speedrunning Deepwoken. We're creating a character and going from Power 1 to killing the Duke as fast as possible. Deepwoken is a difficult game with permanent character loss, but how difficult is it really?
Also, thank you @argsnarf for getting me into speedrunning, this was actually surprisingly fun.

1. you could've gotten killed by the regent to save yourself around 35 seconds
2. you can dash while in water even with an artifact (i am pretty sure) and you can slide jump with the artifact (only on downwards slopes)
Dying with only a town spawn point and something like a dinghy or sloop often forces you to respawn at your town spawn. However, you can circumvent this by having two other spawn points besides the dinghy via your guild base, prompting the choice for spawning at your boat,

i dont think the killing quicker would have mattered anyway because the boat was already on its way and he was gonna respawn on the boat. dying quicker would only mean respawning on the boat faster, it just doesnt change how long the boat takes to get to erisia

you can defeat angels with the right timing they spawn like 3.5seconds when the chat leaves so with that if you use heavy wepon and if you press R in the correct time you can make combo sometimes they fly when you do that but you will do tons of damage and fire is best against angels beacuse fire atacks burn the knocked out enemies if one angels dies the other one die either

im pretty sure getting the dinghy and then instead of waiting for the cooldown to spawn it in in the menu you can just use seafarer's chime and it's faster
14:00 you actually parried his vent. Most people don’t do that and just get vented away without realizing flourishing an npc that has vent will make them vent.

Idk why you freeze your screen to dash through the Duke gate. You just have to dash jump, freezing your screen does nothing to help.
Lucky on that 3 star enforcer axe, I got a 2 star heroism one in to1
The sailing part of a speedrun also requires luck because of the wind directions for more speed

To save 30 secs or more you could 1. Talk to regent again to get griped instead of resetting, and 2 use the free reset now after Kennith’s body(idk for sure if this will save just looked like it would.

at 8:40 i think you might've been able to get killed by lord regent to skip waiting for the reset, if I'm right it could be a pretty good 25 second time save
honestly didn't even think about that until after my run, I definitely could've gotten sub 25 😭

quick question unrelated to deepwoken: in the bonus clip at the end did you end up using mods to play against 2 other players + longer rounds?

notes:
1. You can place your artifact in guild and save like 30s/1min
In my opinion, if you';re would go into the cave, you could be faster than glitching into the gate
u dont have freeze your game for dashing trough walls just run and q + space at the same time i always doing it that way
maybe get ironsing too and buy gold at blacksmith for extra dmg

11:00 freezing isn't needed and it's better if you don't. 14:00 you can block his vent and it doesn't knock you back.
it doesnt matter whether you block his vent or not
@@IzanamiiKouen it does it means alot as with chains if you dont get hit you gain dmg up to 2x and venting counts as a hit so if he dosnt he loses that 2x dmg meaning more time

probably an overall time loss as i havent finished the video but getting any flamecharm mantra lets you skip one of the angels by burn gripping
nah if you kill both fast enough and grip one then it's slightly faster

how did you get lethal precision without uncapping anything
it got reworked into mercy kill, which is automatically unlocked when you unbound your element/weapon. Killing bosses can uncap your weapon/element so that's how.
but you got it after using shrine of blasphemy and before you killed duke ?@@Simon12135

@@Simon12135 As in you do duke at lvl one without any outside help. So you are lvl 1 during the duke fight, and have to get the manor key yourself etc

@@celenial6009 instead of 25 minutes the run would have lasted forever, default weapon with 14 or less weapon stats does practically no damage, you lose out on pve damage buff which at power 12 is like a lot, guessing it would take at least half an hour maybe less if you had auto parry or something since chain of perfection can make up for the missing damage
no chains ofc. you can put like around 20 points into heavy for like a zweihander since you are lvl 1 still@@fitmotheyap
could have completely skipped the kennith quest by just stealing someone elses duke

It was before the rework, you could pick lethal precision as a card for 75 weapon stat

@@user-us6gq5uo4h sorry for the late reply, at the time of this speedrun there was a card you could pick after levelling up called "Lethal Precision" that only required a 75 weapon stat investment. Lethal Precision would instantly kill enemies much weaker than you, meaning you didn't have to execute them manually.
The developers have now reworked "Lethal Precision" into "Mercy Kill." You get mercy kill by either uncapping your weapon or killing any boss, to make it more accessible to everyone.
