Based on the video thumbnail, I thought we were going to see how to make some rosemary garlic spread to use on store bought bread and I was already excited. But we're making the bread itself? Definitely making this either tonight or this weekend. Then my wife and I will have snack bread for a week, or at least for 1 night ish. Looks delicious! Pretty sure this bread plus your homemade meatballs will make a meal. ! And all of it without un-pronounceable ingredients!
It looks great. Simple & easy, the way bread should be. You won't get better bread at a bakery. Was thinking, this bread would make a great grilled cheese along with the homemade tomato soup recipe. A perfect late fall lunch or weeknight dinner.
Just to ask; We want to make the bread recipe, but we only have one small Dutch oven.. Can you recommend some reputable brands for Dutch ovens? Amazon has a ton of them, but a lot of their metal food products come from China, as does about 85% of our eating utensils. Unfortunately, most of the medals they send us all contaminated, have dangerous allows & sometimes irradiated metals. So if you could recommend a reputable brand, we would appreciate it.
@@Anyonesguess421 of course! I understand the concern completely. I use Staub (made in France) but my first Dutch Oven was by Lodge (made in USA) I have both that I personally own and use linked here in my store front for reference! www.amazon.com/shop/asimplepalate

That means so much!! i'm really happy to hear it's made you excited about bread making. Thats how I feel when I have easy bread recipes like this :) I hope you and your family enjoy this one!
I made this recipe yesterday. I should have read your instructions better. The dough did not rise as much as I wished during proofing. I believe it was because the house wasn't warm enough. Still turned out delicious. I remade it this morning and used your idea of proofing it in the oven. That was the trick. It turned out looking exactly as yours did. It is delicious as usual with your recipes.
So glad the oven method worked out for you, Douglas! Sometimes a little warmth is all it needs to get some spring to it :) Thank you for sharing! I am so glad you enjoyed it😊
I made this today. The bread was so delicious. Crunchy crust and soft inner. The only thing I did differently was that I used Active yeast instead of instant, because it's what I had on hand and still it came out amazing. I'm glad I stumbled upon your video this morning. Thank you!
I love your videos so clear and straightforward. I’m definitely making it this weekend. It looks delicious 😋😋😋and I have a ton of rosemary in my garden.
My wife made this this afternoon for dinner. It is incredibly delicious and flavorful, the rosemary is not too overpowering, and it went well with cavatappi with sausage and broccoli dinner. How does Drewnot weight 300 lbs?your cooking is incredible. Thank you for this recipe
Thomas, so glad you enjoy this bread with such a delicious dinner! Thank you for sharing 🥰 and yes, hahaha great question - we work out a lot so that we can eat all this food 😉
Sooo delicious!!!! Super easy to make and the rosemary was not overpowering. For whatever reason mine did not brown like yours did. I left it in for an extra 12 mins but it was only lightly browned. Regardless, it was delicious ! And paired so well with your secret ingredient meatball recipe and San Marzano tomato sauce. I am completely sold on your recipes now ! Can’t wait to try more 😊
Mary, so glad you enjoyed the bread!! It's so hard to get things exact with baking because every oven is different (and if you have higher elevation that can play a factor). So glad you enjoyed it though :) A wonderful pairing with the sauce and meatballs!
Bethany, I was expecting some kneading and some stretch and fold tricks and an overnight cold ferment! This recipe really is amazingly simple, I will definitely give it a try. I always bake in a cast iron Dutch oven and hit the bread with a spritz of water before putting the lid on. The parchment paper sling is a winner. You have a deft touch in the kitchen! How about a focaccia version, I couldn’t find one on your website. My Arizona home has a huge rosemary bush and I love baking with rosemary as it fills the house with its piney aroma.
George, thank you!! Only simple baking methods here. I leave the stretch and fold/fermenting recipes for Drew to make because they're far too fussy for my patience. ;) This just shows me that I am more of a cook than a baker, so this recipe is perfect for me. :) Don't worry - I've been working on a focaccia recipe!

Hi ! You made it look so easy that I’m going to make it and will let you know !!! Your just such a good cook and make it look so easy….. thanks for another great recipe. That dog is a dolll ! Deb Az
I made this bread yesterday and it came out perfect: I posted it on my social media: Next thing I knew One of my haters 'liked' the picture of my hard work I created 🙄 Never supported me to begin with, since Im a aspiring cook as well: (and yes it did say that too when I posted it) Blocked the haters and moved on:
Once again, you have posted a recipe that looks absolutely delicious. And, I might add, a recipe that does not require the tedious process of kneading and resting (both me and the dough). However, I have a big problem here. I do not have a Dutch Oven. I know! I know! How can I call myself a "Do It At Home" cook without a Dutch Oven in my kitchen. To be honest, it is something that has been high on my "must get" list since the day after Adam was expelled from the garden but the one I have wanted to get, the one that gets almost universal recommendations is the Le Creuset - a very expensive item for what is basically a pot with a lid. But then again, a pot with a lid that makes the preparation of so many wonderful dishes possible. So - I think that your recipe for this bread has pushed me over the top. Now, what do you think of the Le Creuset? Have you ever used this brand? What size do you recommend? Do you know of comparable units on the market that don't require me to get a mortgage on my house? What is the size and brand name of the Dutch Oven you used in the video? My sincerest thanks in advance for any advice you can send my way. By the way, do you have a recipe for focaccia bread? I have tried several from TH-cam and somehow they all seem to fall just a little bit short.
hahah I appreciate it, Brian! I am not for fussy bread making recipes, so I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in that :) I'm very familiar with Le Crueset, and I wanted one of those pots more whole life until I found Staub pots (which is what I use in my videos). I still have it :) Here's a link to my tools, I have it listed right at the top. I hope this helps!! And I am working on a focaccia recipe, it's a little bit more involved but hopefully I can get that up this winter! Hi Angela!! I would say, wet dough isn't always a problem. But I get that it is if you want a perfect shape! If you knead the dough, it could absorb some of that moisture. You could also add a couple more tablespoons to the mixture if it's a problem! That might help it be more "formable" - hopefully these can be helpful! And also really forming the round shape before it hits the oven always helps.
