    • Pompeii Walking Tour -...
    Take a 2-hour walk around the ruins of Pompeii. Pompeii is located near the Bay of Naples. It was destroyed in 79 A.D. when Mt. Vesuvius erupted and covered the city in a blanket of ash. While most Pompeiians had time to flee, over 2,000 people died. Pompeii was rediscovered in 1758 by a group of explorers. The excavation process continues to this today with one-third of the city still waiting to be unearthed. Now the city acts as a window into the ancient past. You can see the streets, buildings, houses and even the remains of the victims, just as they were almost 2,000 years ago.

      @@ProWalks Yeah no offense. But the music just wasn't right for this video. Something more softer and gentler or more cultural familiar to the Roman time period would be more pleasant and ideal. Is there any way for you to edit this video and replace the music with something better? That would be kinda nice. Nice visual filming tho.

    I have to warn you folks. I am a retired airline pilot and places like this, the Taj Mahal, the Pyramids are NEVER like this. From the way these folks are dressed it must be close to winter. In the summer the people are wall to wall and it is no fun at all. The tourist bureaus want you to think it is open like this but the truth is it is jammed with people. Mostly American and Europeans and obnoxious ones at that! Go to these places in the off season if you can. It is slow like this and usually much cheaper. Pompeii and Herculaneum are worth your time and money!!

    Siempre impresionan las ruinas de Pompeya. Hay algo en ellas que se siente como si dijeran. : "somos una advertencia " no estamos tan lejos de ver la posible realidad de nuestro mundo. . Tantos sueños. Tanta ambición y soberbia. ...acabaran así. Pompeya es una ciudad pura , porque todas sus injusticias fueron pagadas , por eso es digna de grandísimo respeto.

    Is one day enough to visit the site?

    • @ProWalks
      @ProWalks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For sure....but it would help to go in with a plan. Without a walking map, you could wander around all day and still miss major areas.

    Wonderful photography and a chance to see Pompeii. But the music does not fit the scene or mood. It’s sort of modern up-beat while touring a huge natural disaster. It just doesn’t go with human remains.

    Hate the music with the distracting electronic beat -the type of music that is guaranteed to get me out of a shop instantly if it's on -classical style music is the only type that does justice to inspiring historical sites -just think of the beautiful orchestral music in the David Attenborough wildlife documentaries and you begin to get some idea of appropriate music!

    has anyone wondered why the supposed average height of the people was between 5ft to 5ft 8'' why and how and how did they build such tall buildings in an agricultural countryside? think outside the box and learn the truth about history
