Another tip is: don't get too excited. I have a problem where I get super excited and start overlooking things or dismissing things. Luckily I always catch myself and end up negotiating to a way lower price. But there's been a few times where I almost bought a piece of shit for the price of a brand new bike all because I was so excited.

one thing ive learned the hard way too look out for buying used is checking the forks/Fork seals, if you can see or feel oil they need replaced!! Replacing the $10 fork seals is expensive work to get done considering a shop has to take the front end apart. Cost me about $350 extra. its not safe to ride with blown fork seals, the oil gets on the break pads and can be bad for braking!
Nice video man, looking forward to more motovlogs.
Im trying to get into it, all I need is a mic for my gopro! I have a few videos posted.

Bought a 1987 Yamaha FZR 600 from a dealer ship, bad deal. Once I got the bike home, it had cosmetic damage in places that I didn't notice. Ran fine, though its was a great bike, but ended up selling it for the bike I have now, which is the 98 gsxr 750. I bought this bike because I had interest in it before inspecting it. started fixing it when I bought it 2 years ago, and still having issues. For now on out, I will inspect my next bike. Live and you learn.

i think first thing before buying bike is not over exciting like you said on vid, you won't get clear judgement because you think you must buy that bike. second thing is to check the papers, is it clear, complete, and not cause you problem when you ride it and get stop by cops. third thing is ask for the maintain papers, how many times the bike goes into maintain on dealer or trustworthy garage. check how close the owner keep their maintain schedule for the bike, for example the bike should maintain every 5mo, and the owner miss every maintain schedules, the appearance might look mint but not the engine inside, better bring mechanic friend with you to verify the engine is good or not because the owner miss their schedule. some official dealer also keep their client maintain records on their server, so you can cross check the papers from the owner with dealer to verify the maintain of the bike. NOTE for the owner, keeping your fix or maintain papers with official dealer/garage stamp can make your bike price stable and not drop much because you can guarantee to the buyer that your bike in good condition.

I actually sold my 4 month old 2014 Honda so I can buy a 13 Yammi that I knew I had the guy on the fence for. I walked TWICE from him n let 2 weeks pass then went n called n said I'm just curious to see what he sold for?
Anyway 1 hour later I was at his garaged house with $1k in my sock n the rest to pull out of my pocket n say I will give you this right now n take it home tonight done deal.
Had my helmet n jacket n armored pants in truck for 2 nd test ride since it was misting out the first ride. Couldn't really test brakes n trueness of bike. Ripped it around belt pkwy up to good speeds. Pulled cash out n got it $800 cheaper then asking. Walking away does you very well if ur willing to miss out on a bike. I was sweating it but stuck to my guns. 4 th one I was in love with too. Scored

One tip to remember, you're buying a USED bike, not a NEW bike, yes there will normal wear & tear, just like cars, maybe more for bikes ? that is part of why the price is so much lower, in the first place, and exspect to pay more for a bike that is like new, with low miles...
Sometimes more than KBB, or NADA normal retail value, if they have one to list, most don't, there just for reference use anyways from a dealer, like said in the video. it just depends on the bike, and how bad you want it ?
Remember the seller wants, the most from their investment, just like you would.
Yes like he said, do your research, before you go, ask questions before you go, and write down what they tell you, that way if something comes up, you have something to go off, in regards to what they said about the bike, like the maintenance history ect,
it's always best to do it in the daylight, not night time too. It's best to get someone, who really knows about the motorcycle to go with, just like he said.
Only make offers you can do, and it's best not to make them over the phone, or email, but in person, after looking at the bike, and only give money to hold in writing, with others to witness. Good video, yl

the guy i bought my ninja from, i wish i would have taken all the signs more seriously. i now have the motor out and torn apart, it needs rings and valve adjustment. im running 90-100 lbs of compression. ugh. granted i had put on about 1800 miles with major issues, i shouldnt have been driving the bike at all, in all honesty. and there was lots of dried oil on the bottom of the fairings.

  • @roadrash8334

  • @joztunes69
    @joztunes69 6 ปีที่แล้ว

First thing to do is read the advertisement, then go look at the bike and if the seller if honest, make sure they are and judge the owner Then ask why are you actually selling it and yes check the gas tank then check the plastics and go from there, and if they let you, start it up to hear it run

i was at a dealership yesterday and i was looking at a car 650f.. id checked over the bike and i couldn't see anything wrong with it, so i was like yeah ill buy it.. shows me the paperwork and and it had a highlighted part on the picture i said whats that and he explained it was a scuff. so i went back to the bike to see the bike had actually been dropped. also the wires had been cut and taped up which i didn't really know if it was a problem the handle bars and pegs where scuffed etc.. anyway he was rushing me to put a deposit down. and he wanted 6 grand for the bike and its a 14 plate.. i know for a fact i can get them brand new for that price near enough.. i just couldn't believe how they expect you to buy it.. and i was trying to get money of the bike but he said no because he will be able to see it for the asking price.. i sure do feel sorry for the lad that buys that bike..

Long as you feel comfortable and get to know the bike . You should be good . Do you trust your self , can you stay in control ? If you can do those things then your good cause I learned on my old mans 1300 busa . I was afraid at first just gotta be cautious and know that it can go sideways any moment . Just gotta trust your self and don’t be afraid to mess up sometimes .

I work for a automotive manufacturer's customer service department. Dude you are better off purchasing a bike from a biker than from an Authorized dealership/franchise. People on bikes are mostly cool to each other or at least you have a chance of meeting such a person when buyng a bike. Dealerships know very well how to cover up faults, whcih they know you will not be able to see untill later. When buying from a dealer, try and get in touch with a client of theirs, and take advise of the after sales tratement. If they care for customers even when they have already sold a vehicle tot hem, trusting them might not be a mistake. If however the after sales experiance of the cust. is negative, this means the dealership is only trying to make money out of sales. If the aftersales experiance is positive, then, they trust their products. Otherwise awsome video man thank you very much.

James meegan Keep in mind that I live in Sweden, in a small town where almost nobody rides a motorbike. A factory new yamaha yzf 125 2014 costs 6000 US dollars in store where I live.

Well, I don't know anyone who are into bikes. Honestly, I'm the only person within my circle whos actually pursuing to ride a bike and all that. Kind of difficult to bring someone who knows bikes along during a scavenger hunt for my first bike bro. :/

also you might wanna see if the guy is say 18 to 30 he probably ran that thing like a bitch. I would rather buy from an older guy. they tend to take care of there stuff a little better a,d don't run them as hard.

Buyers will go to the rip off dealer and pay top dollar but want a killer deal from a private owner even if the bike is excellent.

+MOHAMMD Al-helo dunno the rules in Canada, but most places if you are 16, you can only drive 125cc, and 600cc is when you are 18.
It says in dept the limitation of the bike on the driving lincense. (In my country its 15hp, and 125cc on the A1 license)
