I remember when this was being filmed in Phoenix. The only station we had that played Morrissey was KUKQ 1060 AM. Fans were calling into the station after seeing him. They were exciting and some were eve crying.
Holy crap I'm one of those guys. Raised in Vegas, & Phx. I saw him in '91' in pic. An am 1060 was The channel I kept it on! Small world. Keep the faith....
i'll never forget when he came to tower records on south street in philadelphia back in spring '94. the line to get CDs autographed was around the block.
This song is a perfect example of why Morrissey is so easy to resonate with. The lyrics are so simple and clean-cut, yet they uniquely describe a feeling that (nearly) everyone has felt at least once in their lives. I think this is why his fanbase is so devout.
This 30+ year old music video is a wonderful nineties time capsule. The black and white photography and interesting motel landscapes really capture a part of Americana that is slowly disappearing. Amazing to realize that Morrissey's 35 year solo career has lasted 7 times longer than the 5 years that The Smiths were in existence. I've been a fan of The Smiths and Morrissey since 1986. Long live Morrissey!
This was the Zenith of Morrissey’s solo career. His band was second to none (Alain Whyte, Boz Boorer, Spencer Cobrin and Gary Day). This was such a clean and heartfelt song. Beautiful 😁
No matter what I can always find a Morrissey song that fully reflects my state of being. Morrissey is bedrock. 34 years of listening to Morrissey and it's still fresh to me. 💕
I actually now at 47 years old think the Morrissey catalog is better than The Smiths. I know it’s not a competition, it’s a cooperation. They’re both amazing, but HE is both. Sorry for rambling, this song is great.
Morrissey and his band with unbelievably cool haircuts - thank God we still have Morrissey and thanks Boz Boorer, Alain Whyte and all the others who have worked with Moz too.
I first heard him in 85/86 when I was just a young 14 yr old. I'm now 53 years old and still love The Smiths/Morrissey as if I had just heard him for the first time. His music is further removed from what music is today in the most melodic of ways that listening to him now brings back emotions and feelings not felt in so many years. The girls I met and danced with in the new wave days of the 80's and 90's. Kind of makes me sad how times have greatly changed for the worst kind. I want to go back to those days so badly even for a day just so I can forget how times are now. Heaven knows I'm miserable now.
You said it. His understanding of how people feel is so raw and so precise. He is a wonderful human being, I will cry so much when he goes and I have never met him.
I don't think Morrissey has any special access to understanding humans more than anyone else. He just has a very stylish and poetic way of describing and bemoaning many of life's problems that human beings can encounter. Many of which he never really has.
Sin duda la mejor banda que ha tenido Morrissey, Gary en el bajo, Boz y Alan en las guitarras y Spencer en la batería. Con ellos hizo -a mi gusto- las mejores y más icónicas canciones.
What a seriously beautiful song. Great way to tip your hat off to America. What a great video, a bunch of nice looking gentlemen in British car. I also like the sound of slide and how it sounds like Texas country music. Inspiring.
I AM feeling really down right NOW, & this song played in que. I looked my clock and it is 1:37 & there could not be a MORR devine sign in than that. I Luff Yah, eVen MORR😊😊😊

Grazie di cuore caro Morrissey per aver condiviso questa bella canzone e accattivante video ✳️✨🎤🎶🙏👍 Complimenti ed un meritato applauso 👏 A presto 🇮🇹✔️🤗💙

@Rocky Hernandez did you See him?
i'll never forget when he came to tower records on south street in philadelphia back in spring '94. the line to get CDs autographed was around the block.
Morrissey is unique. He is unlike any other pop star and there will never be anybody like him. He is an artist, a genius.
Rock n roll *

well of course cause Morrissey always speaks the truth of pain in life and the wounds of unfulfillment.
+violet bowie So true. RIP David Bowie.
Well said!

This is/was Metro Phoenix almost all of those Palm Trees and most of the Motels & Kon Tiki have been torn down in the name of progress.
Did the car ride a flat-bed the whole way? Or were they actually driving?

One of the best lyricists in the music industry.
Agreed. He's a poet.
And one of the best singers, I would add.

I can always identify with his music.
A beautiful song. Used at our wedding. Lovely.
A great clip. Great hair, great car. Magic
What a belter.😊
Interesting song for a wedding since it is basically about polyamory.
@@r.marian6277🤏😅
"I know you love one person so why can't you love two?" is such a weird choice for a wedding.
As long as wasn't Your the one for me, Fatty
What a beautiful song. It never gets old.
Very true

Sorry for rambling, this song is great.
his voice is like Elvis, silky and smooth, i only wish the joy his voice brings makes himself happy
Four minutes and twenty three seconds that make life worthwhile.
Indeed
Nah, this should be a little much said. It's a little lift-up, however.

If I could only listen to one artist for the rest of my days, that artist would be Morrissey
I have been listening to him and The Smiths for almost a year one, every day. I can't stop
@@frederick909 Me too, except it's been 3 years. I don't think I'll ever stop.

Haven't heard this song in years, it's like an old friend.
I get it now. Makes sense why my Chicano peeps love this dude. His music is dope af!

Morrissey is a planetary pleasure.
I could never admire an artist more. MORRISSEY is an irreplaceable part of my story.
Morrissey.. Perfect song and perfect hair cut
Morrissey and his band with unbelievably cool haircuts - thank God we still have Morrissey and thanks Boz Boorer, Alain Whyte and all the others who have worked with Moz too.

There’ll only ever be one Morrissey. Pure genius.
Moz, Gary, spencer, Alan and Boz look soooo cool in this, and what a great song and music.

My absolute favorite Morrissey song. And I love pretty much all his songs.
Late night Maudlin Street.
@@BurtonRdForever Oh God, yes.

Mine too!!!!
A touch of Chrissie Hynde in the backing vocals. Awesome song.
I thought that was Kirsty Maccoll for a moment but apparently it is Chrissie Hynde
His music is so emotional.
You mean Boz Boorer music?
No one will ever come close to Morrissey's genius
You said it. His understanding of how people feel is so raw and so precise. He is a wonderful human being, I will cry so much when he goes and I have never met him.

My favourite Morrissey solo song. So beautiful.
Video is amazing, such a handsome bunch of men. Morrissey looks his best.
So, why " can't he love , three ?"
Such a supreme sense of melody. People focus on the lyrics but he finds great notes so often, beautiful choices all the time.
This is the best Morrissey song. It is musically beautiful, lyrically beautiful and it makes me sad and happy at the same time. It is wonderful.
i love music from a "singer" who never stops being himself....respect the notion of being different
What gay????

A beautiful song, melencholic yearning for a love that is close but yet so far. I refound Morrissey recently and I am so thankful that I did....
Song sounds like an old classic, like it's always been with us
Morrissey is so wickedly glamorous and talented. My favorite singer of all time.

I loved and miss old Morrissey tunes. One of my all time favorite songs. And why I have a FB page called “Our Love Life”.
Morrissey cruisin' with his gang of rockabillies
Perhaps the haircut was a requirement LOL
They were known as “The Lads”...and now Boz Boorer = “The Last of The Lads”.
The guy in the passenger seat .... that’s all x
