That looks like a fun bike. You can never have too many bikes in your collection! I just added a Harley to my collection to keep my T-Dub and my Gas Gas company.
I'm a short guy too and I'm considering adding a second bike and It's between the Honda CRF300LS (for us short guys) and Triumph 400x. I'll be watching to see how you like it. My riding will be around a small town and out on some back roads with some dirt roads added In. good Luck and have fun.
I am having a blast with the bike so far! The break in isn't bad and it has been on the dirt almost as much as the street so far. It's a blast on the road!!
I was looking at the exact same bikes plus the Versys 300x. For me the Truimp seems to be sweet spot. The 300x was too road baised, but I don't need the capabilities of the LS offeoad either. Plus the 400x looks so good.
Sweeet Matt. Though I had to look up radial brake calliper lol. That damn Kawasaki😩! I have 5 bikes I ride 4 regular. When the snow is gone here in 🇨🇦 north of Maine. I’m older than dirt and I am still hooked on biking (68 this year). Always had the biggest most powerful bikes from 16 on. Now I really enjoy my XT250. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Reminds this old man how lucky I am for having done it most of my life. If I didn’t live thousands of miles away I’d drop in and go for a ride. Looking forward to your Triumph adventures. Love to see you replace that Kawi with a XT250. I’m still looking for a T-Dub. Rare find here.
🤣 Thanks Gary! Like you, I love motorcycles and just enjoy being out there. I'd like to rid of the Kawi and see what else I could replace it with. If I'm ever up that way🤞 I'll let you know and we'll go ride!
Awesome bike! I love a scrambler style bike! I’m glad you’re keeping at least a T-dub around. Once you get one, you can never get rid of all of them. I’ve talked myself out of selling my BW200 many times over the years. I just can’t sell it! lol
Yep, I can't get rid of the TW's. I love those bikes and all the different things and places I have seen and done with them. I know what you mean. Thanks for watching and the comment Dustin!
Love the bike bradda. Incan make up my mind (I'm sure that surprises you) about wht bike i get next, but this is stil on my short list. Will look forward tonthe vids!
@@MOBStreet83 my g310gs is more of a scrambler that just looks like an adventure bike. I need to come down there and follow you around on your back roads for a couple hours prior to a Malt Shop visit.
So glad to see people realizing that this bike is capable of much more than just dirt road! I just got my 400x a week ago and i've had it down single track and hill climbs and all over creation! the stock tires are ok but not for mud and wet stuff so I'm definitely going to swap out some more aggressive rubber. You got yourself a subscription! looking forward to comparing notes on it's offroad ability! first gear is perfect for technical stuff and second can easily pull up steep hills so yeah I'm very excited about it! and p.s. my first love was a mighty T-Dub 200 I kept for years and i still think about that bike! 😄
Hey Nathan! That is crazy where you have been taking yours!😂 I am wanting to ride like that as well. I was looking at other tires as well for it so let me know what you decide to go with. Are you in Utah also? Man, I couldn't get rid of my other TW's and I didn't wanna get rid of this one, but something had to go and no one wanted to buy my KLX230S
@@MOBStreet83 I totally understand! I have a favorite tire combo I've been using for years now but it's not everybody's cup of tea, I do the Shinko SR241 up front, it's a trials tire DOT and IMO it holds a line better offroad than any other non-knobby tire I've used, I hate a front knobby on pavement so the SR241 is by far my favorite, for the rear I do Kenda Trakmaster II all the way. It's DOT approved, it's loud on pavement but once you get used to how it handles you would be surprised what you can do on the road with it, but offroad it is absolutely unstoppable and nothing else even comes close. like not even in the same universe. That Kenda unlocks a lot of territory- basically anywhere a dirtbike can go you can go.
So far, I've found that the Triumph 400x does well on forest service roads and hard pact dirt roads. However, climbing steep hills on grass covered power line right-a-ways is not so good. I got stuck. That's where a TW200 would shine. Different bikes for different rides. BDR, Triumph 400x. Trail ride, TW200, or some other dual-sport.
Yeah, it has been great on two track dirt and stuff. I haven't had it on any gnarly trails though. But, I do think I will still use my Tdub for the crazier trails.
Thanks George! I am a huge fan of the red, but I might need to get the a matching green one for my wife! Luckily, I had more than one TW so I can still have one with this one! I hope it all works out for you!
I keep putting off the test ride because I think I may have to buy it! I primarily ride dirt roads, VERY little REAL off-road. This may be my retirement bike! (thats what I told the wife when I bought the TW.....) At a decent price, I can keep both! Looking fwd. to seeing you take it on a little trail / two tack riding!
Todd, I love this bike! It is a blast and the engine and trans are great. It is such a blast to ride. I will make a video of riding the dirt on it soon.
That's probably my next bike. I'm leaning that way. British Customs exhaust systems are a good option for replacing any and all Triumph stock pipes. I'll be sure to keep you on my list for first shows to watch. Take care. Vaughn
That bike is gorgeous Matt. I went with Hondas new scl500 Scrambler. It doesn't have the Triumphs bells and whistles and it was quite a bit more expensive , but we don't have a Triumph dealer within 60 miles. I still love it though.
Thanks Mike! It has been a lot of fun so far. The only dealer in the state was 80 miles from my place. Those Hondas are great bikes too! I am glad you like it. Have you taken it off road yet?
I absolutely love your videos but this one made me feel discouraged because you normally get me hyped about TW200s otherwise I’m happy for your new purchase Matt!
@@MOBStreet83 lol okay okay! I’ve always wanted one and your videos have inspired me to finally get one! I have a 2023, and just watching you drive them doing little jumps and with your family is what I look forward too even still! Thanks for your videos
Matt--I am shocked you went with this! I am picking up the exact same bike in 2 days, same color. I never expected to buy a new bike but I'm 71 years old and I could be long dead before I get my hands on a used one. Triumph got the price right on this (except for the $860 shipping charge and $600 dealer prep, and there's a $360 document fee). The recent Triumphs are well built. But why would you change out that awesome exhaust that sounds and looks great and, unlike the bigger Triumph scramblers lets you mount side carriers on both sides? With more off road oriented tires the dirt handling will be even better. Excellent choice my man! Buy and mount the Triumph engine protectors and let us know what you think.
Yes, I have some videos coming and the bike is AWESOME!! I have done canyon carving with it, two up riding with it, my wife and kids love riding with me. It has plenty of get up and go and it is just a flat out fun bike to ride. I have let others ride it and they enjoy it too. I will have some riding videos up soon before the weekend.
I didn't want to sell the TW....I have been trying to sell my KLX230S for the last year and half and no one is interested in it. So, I had to get rid of one before I could get another. I looked at the Tenere, but I am way too short for one! 😂
Wait! What the hell! Sold a TW200! Ok, who are you and what have you done with the real Matt?😅😅 Seriously, the Triumph has some great specs and the red/black looks great! I thought you would've gotten rid of the KLX230 before letting go of one of the TW's. Am anxiously waiting for your videos on the 400X Scrambler. That bike has really been catching my eye since it was announced.
Trust me Ed, I have tried to sell the KLX230 since January 2023! It won't go at all! No one wants to buy it! I wouldn't have sold it if the KLX would have sold.
Heck yeah Matt! The Triumph Scrambler X looks freaking awesome. Can’t wait to see your future adventures with it.
Thanks!! I am stoked and there are gonna be a whole lot of videos with it!
It’s beautiful congrats

Awesome.

That scrambler might give the TW some competition sales wise. I expect some mods. and some honest reviews. Congratulations Matt !
Hey Joe! It's showing that it is already topping the charts in sales. Mods and reviews are on the way!
Congratulations Matt. Triumph makes great bikes. Hope you and your family enjoy it!
Thanks! I have been a fan of Triumph for a long time and when this came out I really had to get one!
I like the green... and thats what I'm getting ;) Red looks incredible, congrats on the new bike!!!
I have seen that one! 😁 it's a sweet color too, but this red, I really like it! Get yours so we can go ride!
Congrats, that's a sweet addition to the family!
Thanks Cameron! I am happy with it!

Thanks Jacob! Should be a good time.
Congratulations Matt.
Pretty high tech for you .
Looks like fun.
Did you trade your Kawie in also.
Very high tech for me Michael! 😳🤣 Thanks, I really appreciate it!
You can keep all the electronic nanny controls. I will NOT have a ride by wire throttle off road.
Yeah, I haven't ever been a big fan of all the electronics. But, we'll see how it goes.
That is such a pretty bike 😍 Excited for you and I can't wait to ride it hehehe
