Tools, Trails, and Triumph: My First Motorcycle Rescue!
My Son was stuck out in the Hills! He was six miles up into the hills and his chain wadded up on him in the case. He didn't have the tools, but he did have his phone. Come with me as I take the TW200 up into the back hills to bring him back home.

I heard you having fun in the snow last night. That is so awesome. Great fun.
What's the saying, "practice makes progress" or "practice makes permanent" 🤔
Fun times! Beautiful snow ❄️.
In the type of land you and I ride in, I still think the 241 is the perfect fit compared to the 244.
Has anyone put yz forks on a tw? Or anything that’s compatible to upgrade? Dig the higher fender! Nxt I’m ditching the whole tailight clusterkuk!&bulbous blinkers!
I'm sure they have, but I haven't seen one myself yet. Hit up Bradley Performance and see if he has anything. He is always working on something for the Tdubs!
My Tdub has a 60 tooth rear for going up hills like this. The problem is getting down.
Do you like the Bradley fat tire on the rear ??
Cool vid on many levels. Thanks for sharing, and Semper Fi!
That T Dub like a freakin tractor dude just keeps goin😂Merry Xmas from PA!!
I love a good success story ! Fun times to tell the grandkids about 👍🏻🎅
Do they sell it in Greece?
Frohe Weihnachten 🎄 und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr 2025 🎉
Thanks Matt
You bet! Merry Christmas!
Sitting here on the coast of Calif this video took me right back to those mountains up out of Manti & Ephraim...That is really some life and death stuff.those dirt ?...more like rock , clay , mud.. roads are very dangerous..I had my adventure years ago in a Suzuki Sammy up Ephraim Canyon..drop down into a marsh then uphill off camber clay snot stuck to the tires no traction slide backwards do a unplanned 180 with the cliff & bears down below waiting for the night time feeding session..worked it work it got the clay off the tires best I could Sammy did a 90 all on his own but at least I was pointed down hill so out I go.....never to return...and just like your sons adventure It was getting dark and cold fast...Up Manti Canyon one time on good dry dirt out from the forest come covered in Mud a Father and son their 4 wheeler had gotten hopelessly stuck so the walked out long ways back to the main road the look on their faces said it all to me...I gave them a ride home in Manti...I bet they never go alone again...almost as scary as stepping into a quicksand hole at Palisades lake...by myself.....BOOM 1 second half my body was sunk......water level was real low then I had no idea there was quicksand... This video brought back all that stress...Thanks........your boy back home safe there is your Christmas Gift...
Glad you enjoyed the video. I've been there before. Your story sounds pretty intense too. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas!
XT250 of course!
Nice video.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
Matt this is probably one of my favorite videos youve made! Are you saying the shenko's or not as good as the factory death wings? I put the shenkos on this year and think they are better.
Thanks!! I'm glad you liked it. What makes it your favorite? No, I'm not saying that......yet. my tire pressure wasn't right at first. I had much better traction after I left some air out.
No. The rocks don’t suck. I told you that front tire is shit !! Trust me. 🍻🇨🇦
They were better after I let some air out. But, still trying to decide if I like it or not. 😂 I read your other comment right after I got home and had wiped out. 🤣
@ haha. Glad you rescued your kid. He looked cold. And ya watch that tire. Slipped out on me loads of times. 🍻 happy Christmas 🎅🏻 🇨🇦
That was fun, thanks for taking us along for the ride.
You bet! I'm glad you liked this one! It would've been kinda crazy with a bigger bike with that mud and snow.
Watching this Christmas eve. Merry Christmas you! So, I have been riding Harleys for 20 years and more, but I did just buy a Tdub, new 2025 model. I have put the cyclerack rear on it like your's, and Tusk handlebar guards. My first ride was in mud on the dirt road, I live on. My first ride had full air in it, from the dealer, and frankly, my old Wide Glide with street tires would have been better. I have ridden it in the mud a lot just to get to the pavement, so I know. Later, I dropped the air to about 12 lbs on the Tdub, and it did help it a lot with the mud. So, is the 241 probably as good as it gets for a front tire, under muddy conditions? You did mention that you thought the 241 was better than the 244, on your ride up to get you son. And what about the rear tire, short of going the Bradly ATV route, what is the best tire, one can mount on the stock rear wheel, for mud? And last, what rear sprocket did you have on the Tdub on this ride?
Congrats on the new bike! Yeah, I like my 241 and think it is a great tire. The 241 front and the stock rear are my favorite setup so far. That is what I would choose right now for tire choice. I hope that helps and enjoy the bike! Thanks for watching and for the comment. Merry Christmas!
Hi Matt, do you carry a small aircompresser with you at all ? I found one at HomeDepot a while back. Ryobie , I take on trips with a tire repair kit . Merry Christmas ( not too many Dr. Peppers now )
Nope, but I'm gonna from here on out!! Merry Christmas to you!!
Love how the fat tires serve as such a part of the suspension.
Don’t!!!!! Don’t do 244. You will wash out. !!! 241 is the only front tire so far made for TW. I ran 244 for the last year. If you wanna wash out and have limited grip around corners. That’s the one. Stock tire is better. 241. 🏆
A+++!
I changed my Sprocket to a 15 tooth. Massive difference.
Shes tough too! Prob sub 30 degree day im betting!
Proud day for all riders when we see new riders find joy. 😊
A++++
Thanks Clark!
I'm loving my Scram but your mates service cost was nuts. I paid $300 in Australian money for dealer logbook service. That's I think about 150 merican monies
Yeah, that would be a lot more reasonable, but his bill was ridiculous
🤟🖤🤟
Thanks Atilla!
Without giving away your location, was this filmed in northern or southern UT? I've been looking at Cedar City, Santaquin and Spanish Fork as possibilities to move to.
I grew up in between Santaquin and Spanish Fork, in Payson! Santaquin is the smallest of three that you mentioned. Cedar is nice, but a lot of people for my liking. Santaquin is getting business but the least people of the three. Spanish is getting nuts with people and lots of traffic and congestion.....just my two cents. All three are accessible to great places to ride. Rocky Mountain ATV HQ is in Payson too. I'm not too far from the three of them.
@@MOBStreet83 Thank you for your perspective!
Nice touch for the UPS guy. That's the spirit!
He helps us a ton during the holidays so its the least we could do. 😁
I enjoyed the walk.
I'm glad! Thanks for watching this one Steve!
You said TW more dependable? After sitting all winter I'd rather be trying to start the XT with fuel injection. Don't you think?
I think that really depends on if you winterize/store it properly? I run mine all year long and it isn't a big deal to pull the choke for second to start the bike. But yes, as far as dependability goes, I would much rather depend on a carburetor that I can dismantle and clean if needed than trying to fix a fuel injected system. Hopefully, neither of these bikes sit that long, but if they do I would rather take my chances that way. I have nothing against the XT and I think it is a great machine. As long as it is taken care of I don't think you'd ever really have any issues with it.
I'm selling my 01 Goldwing GL1800 to purchase a TW200 I like it so much. I grew up riding in the 80s on all manner of four and two strokes. I want this bike preceisly because its slow and can be readily maintained, not to mention the Goldwing doesnt like dirt so much.
I love my Tdubs! It us way better off road than the Goldwing! 😂
These views ! 🤩What a stunning little bike ! 💪🏍
Thanks!! That is one of my most favorite dirt/gravel roads to ride. The bike does awesome out there too. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Ive owned both..just bought another 2025 xt...for the average rider, the xt all day long..more versatile...better ride....far more comfortable....Cruise down the highway faster...the only advantage with the tw, is mud, sand or snow....
They're are both great machines for sure. I'd love to add an XT to my lineup.
I got one!! 64 years old! Got tboned on my Fatbob in 2022. Took a year to recover. Then a year to think. A friend told me about the TW. The more I read the more I knew it was the bike for me
I'm sorry, that would suck! I'm glad you chose the Tdub, I have loved mine! Best of luck with it and thanks for watching!
Doing my break in miles now
Take it nice and easy and it'll last forever!
Good job taking care of the delivery guys ! And a good excuse to take a nice cool ride 😎 Keep up the good work Matt 👍 MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours 🎅🏻
Thanks JT! Same to you my friend! All the Best!
It's been many years since I have roamed around up there in Utah but I do believe you were riding a bit of that ride on the old dirt Highway I was living in Manti back then parents moved up there from Calif back in the late 70's...When I would visit I would ride all over that area from Big Daddy Ed Roths street on 3 rd north to skyline drive I learned to have respect for off road on the top of that mountain range...wet clay mud snot on tires don't mix...just stick
That is by design for two reasons it helps newer riders to keep from stalling the bike easily and it’s also to help with keeping the engine cool by having oil circulating. Just because of something you’re not used to doesn’t make it wrong. You’re not the engineer who designed it.
Lol😂
I thought it was good
🤟🖤🤟
Thanks Atilla!
Man, I was getting cold just thinking about riding when it's below freezing! Too cold for this old man with poor circuation. BRRRR!
It was pretty cold, but totally worth it! 😂
Sunny day, mountains and Nice bike , perfect way to ride
Yep, it was a good ride for sure. It was only about 28° out, but it was a blast!
Heck yeah Matt what an awesome video. I’m already regretting winterizing my bikes since it has been a mild December here in Colorado so far but I’m glad to see that you are still riding over there in Utah. Happy Holidays to you and your family. 🎄
Thanks Brother! It's been really mild here too, so I had to get out and enjoy the sunshine for a bit. Kinda cold, but totally worth it. Merry Christmas to you too!
I have a Tiger 1200 that I had the same issue with. I was able to download an app to my phone and use a standard Bluetooth OBDII sensor to connect to the bike and reset the service light for oil changes and things like that. The App was about $70 and the OBDII was about $13.00. You have to register your V.I.N. on the app and I think it's good for up to 3 VINs. The App is now on my old phone that use specifically just for that, but if you're interested I could reply back with the name (assuming it's still available).
Sweet!! That would be awesome if that would work on mine as well. Yeah, if you wouldn't mind letting me know that would be great!
Amazing bike, I love mine and takes me off road anywhere.
It’s a great bike! They can go anywhere you want to go. This bike is definitely more capable than I am.
