    As an American I feel blessed that I have lived in Scotland for the last 3 years. I love this video as I have been to all these places several times and will return to them all. I sold everything in America and moved here after I retired I love everything about this beautiful country.

      Hope you enjoy your retirement here. Its my intention to see every square inch of Scotland that I can, even though I have lived here all my life.

    I am from Recife in Brazil and I've visited Scotland in 1993. And that was the best trip I've never done before. Eight (8) days around it, traveling guide to Edinburgh, St Andrews, Inverness, Perth etc. "Scotland is a special place". Country of the most beautiful landscapes, wonderful culture, tradiction, history and architecture. I really love this country! Marvelous Scotland!

    Been to Scotland in 2019 before all these covid madness started. Visited Loch Lomond, culloden, Balnuaran of Clava and Inverness. Since then Scotland have been haunting me. Can’t wait to be back in this somewhat magical place.

    Thanks for these views of Scotland. Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities, and you're right. If you visit Loch Ness, you won't forget it. The Highland Scottish folk of that area are a happy, delightful bunch of folk. My memories of Scotland (Edinburgh, Stirling, Glasgow, Inverness) are all happy ones.

    We just returned from a 8 day trip to this spectacular Country. We are already planning a return trip. Possibly rent an RV for a month and see as much as we can see. We highly recommend visiting this Beautiful Country.

    My own top 10, in no particular order would be; Isle of Mull for wildlife and scenery; Orkney, for outstanding neolithic and viking history; Glencoe, as a hillwalkers paradise; Skye for scenery, history and dinosaur footprints; Arran, as a Scotland in miniature; Shetland, for all the inlets, beaches, stormy seas, whales, otters, etc; Grampian mountains, for Braemar, hiking, Mar Lodge, photo opportunities, etc; Edinburgh, because its awesome, from your first step out of Waverley station and being met with the castle on a dormant volcano; the Borders, for Abbotsford, Melrose Abbey, etc; Ayrshire, for the greatest wordsmith to come from Scotland, Culzean castle, home of golf, rolling hills and because I was born there.

    I lived in Glasgow from 2010 April to 2011 December, I like Glasgow and Scotland very much. In the summer times this is beautiful to drive to any corner of Scotland. Lots of lakes and mountains on your way when you are exploring Scotland by drive.

    What a beautiful country, we live in Yorkshire and visit Edinburgh,Stirling ,Perth Glasgow 4 times a year,we never get tired of this beautiful country,for you Americans don't forget a lovely little town called Dunfermline,just over the iconic rail bridge,home to Andrew Carnegie,the town as park named after him!
    Visit the church ruins where 5 kings of Scotland are buried! If your lucky,Davy will be your guide,ex British soldier who will enchant you.
    Visit Stirling,try and get a room at the "golden lion hotel, Robert Burns used this hotel,what more do you want!but what ever you do,spend a couple of days in Edinburgh and Glasgow!!

    This video, while a nice compilation, is very typical, where the country apparently ends at around Inverness. Really, the best parts of Scotland are past Inverness, the whole northwestern coast, Wester Ross and Sutherland etc.

    Fort William itself is a rather drab and disappointing town when you consider it's stunning location. Somewhere like Fort Augustus or Oban are more pleasant places or some of the villages on the Fife coast like Crail with its wee fishing harbour. Oh and Loch Lomond is certainly NOT in the centre of The Highlands. It is actually only 40 minutes from Glasgow and lies to the west of The Trossachs.
    There are also many other places not mentioned here which would definitely feature in my top 10 of Scotland but I'll keep them to myself so they don't get spoiled 😉but I'll say one thing. If you don't get on a ferry and head west you will never see the whole of Scotland and some of the very, very best parts of Scotland are further north than any of this top 10.

    As a Scot and a native of Scotland I find it very annoying when outsiders, who maybe have one or two holidays here, then start declaring the Top Places to see in Scotland. Especially when they have a gaul to call themselves 'Informed World Traveler'.

    • @Iworldtraveller
      @Iworldtraveller  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry to hear that. I assume you mean gall; as you’re more informed than me, you’ll surely be aware Gaul is an ancient name for a region of continental Europe. Also, I lived in Scotland for 22 years. Have a good day 👍

      @@Iworldtraveller Thank you for your good wishes and for pointing out the typo. Autocorrect does strange foreign things! I still find it very galling when people write such things as 'The best movies ever', 'The best music ever', 'The best places in Scotland/Ireland/Europe'. Perhaps consider being modest enough to entitle it 'My favourite places in Scotland ...' I have my favourites and they aren't all the same as yours. So why did you leave Scotland?
