The good thing about men is they don’t judge your bits. I’ve been so insecure after having two kids, being cut open both times (and butchered by the 2nd doc), and then having my cervix/uterus removed...I’ve been so insecure. My husbands enthusiasm always fixes any insecurity. :-) sry tmi

As women with a vulva and vagina, i hate to see this idea that "it" has to be perfect. no vulva looks the same, they're all different, literally every single one of us, even a trans persons vulva and that's what's beautiful about women's vulvas. Women have been taught to feel very insecure about our vulvas and vaginas, how they look, feel and smell. so welcome to the club. i'm sure when you're properly healed that your vulva will look and feel like a normal vulva, after all what exactly does normal mean? Firstly doctors do swear by oath to do no harm to their patient but this does not relate at all to trans re-assignment surgery. Trans women (the reason why I refer mostly to trans women is because trans men don’t get the bottom surgery much as doctors don’t have much experience with phalloplasty) overall feel happy in their bodies when they get bottom surgery and less dysphoric. What causes dysphoria? The feeling of being in the wrong body this has to do with gender identity and sometimes biological factors that we don’t entirely understand. You can’t compare a trans person with a schizo or any other mental disorders because being trans is not a mental illness. I'm a middle-aged, cis woman.Girl, you are A MAY ZING! And let me tell you something. I've had two vaginal births, one vaginal hysterectomy and I'm 52. There is no perfect. We are all different down there and the aesthetic changes over time. The most important thing is sensations and that doesn't require a perfect aesthetic. Even sensations change as you get to know yourself better. After living as a straight woman for 40 years and then experiencing intimacy differently as a lesbian, I can tell you that sensation is more about your mind then the physical act. And you have a beautiful, brilliant mind. Celebrate your new found freedom and live for today. You've accomplished so much with such intelligence, strength, beauty and grace. Don't forget that.

IMHO, trans or cis, all women look better when they are real, natural, without makeup. I never understood why women don't believe it when men tell them that.

Good to see/hear this post. What you're doing here is very necessary and you do it so well. (It's shifted the way I, for one, think about such matters and that's no small achievement.) Full marks to your developing linguistic dexterity, achieved with such good humour (yes, I'm English). One minuscule piece of advice: give yourself time. Healing 'down there' takes ages. My perspective as a bloke is from a couple of relatively recent hernia ops that left me alarmingly swollen for a lot longer than I had expected from such a minor op! But it did all go down in time - and the numbness went too. Sympathies with the C-19 lockdown; it's the same here in London. And yes, so glad for you about the apartment.

Hi, Maya! I’m a cis woman and I have had scars from other things, but if you use cocoa butter on your scars it fades away faster & a plus is it smells nice and is so moisturizing. You can get the jar of it or a stick for easier application. Using once a day or twice a day in morning to night.💓
Also, Just so you know, Miss Maya- coming from a very sensitive “pleasure bean” person, being sensitive is actually quite normal for many CIS females :) so, you’re pretty close to being “normal” being that it’s sensitive there- especially after an “O” ❤️🥰
I was thinking the same thing. Sometime direct stimulation on the bean is to much to enjoy. Sometimes a little off center is better. It takes years for women to get to know our bodies, and, it hasnt been to long since its been ok to discuss female pleasure. Consider it a normal journey!
My god, I didn’t even have an orgasm until I was in my 30’s! Talk about pitiful! But as someone previously mentioned, it’s pretty much beaten into our psyche’s all our lives that vaginas look ugly, smell bad, are gross, etc...it takes maturity and confidence through experience to really appreciate how amazing and beautiful all vaginas are! Many actually give birth to human lives! Now how could that be anything but phenomenal?!💕👏🏼💪🏼🌷

Ok so I just had to look at before and after pictures, they were from medical sites I hope that's ok..But they all looked great! All looked like normal vaginas to me, pretty amazing. Most men don't even know female anatomy lol, they're not going to notice if the labia minora isn't positioned perfectly

Nia, a few words of advice as your journey continues: get negative toxic people out of your social circles and create a network of supportive friends and family. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have heard stories from people on regretting their transition, and I have also heard from others who are truly happy with their decisions in life. Ultimately I believe our soul and spirit aren't necessarily male or female. Our souls do live within a human shell while on this earth though, and if for some reason someone feels gender dysphoria and like they aren't themselves, and are able to do something about it in order to live a happier life, than who am I to judge? Many individuals who do come to regret their decision in regards to transitioning, have experienced trauma in their life which impacted the way they viewed themselves and the choices they have made-and come to regret. There are also other folks who have grown up free from trauma and felt a soul and body disconnect, and were very happy with their choices regarding this issue. I don't claim to understand everything by any means, but I do try to have an open mind, and support others in living their lives how they see fit, learning from their mistakes, etc.
@@KeelyAnn Speaking the truth is NOT judging. It is love that causes us to care about others. When I see a person being deceived I will speak up in hopes to help that person. Stop with your "you are judging, hate speech, close minded" kind of talk. You said it yourself this is connected to trauma and the reason people try to physically change themselves because they dislike themselves the way they are, they are trying to not be themselves to become happier. Instead of teaching them to love themselves THE WAY THEY ARE, they are deceived into rebelling against God. God makes all things beautiful and does not make mistakes. Are they taught this truth? No. This truth is conveniently hidden from them. And when someone like me boldly speaks up the truth, someone like you tries to go into this philosophy how we are sooooo close minded and tries to shame us into being judgemental, hateful, or racist which can not be further from our real intentions: to help. When an 8 year old decides to get a surgery for a gender change and is taken away from parents by state authorities because parents try to help the child who doesn't yet know what he/she is doing, perhaps just trying to get accepted or hears this teaching 24/7 how cool it is to change genders - all of THIS is wrong on all levels and absolutely affects me personally, my world and the people I love. Don't bs me abt having an open mind. My mind, heart and soul are fully open to the truth. Open your mind to truth, reject lies and false teaching. THEN you can tell me what the soul is all about.

I think I might have ripped a labia minora a month or two ago accidentally when I was washing, pinched and pulled. So you can have the unsymmetrical and red new skin in a cis private area too. No idea what anybody else’s looks like but it’s bound to be varied like everything else is.
As a retired nurse i find your info interesting. I have had only one surgery, a low cut cesarean. The nerve sensation was never the same again. it still feels numb on and around the suture line and that was 33 yrs ago. I never felt the same again. It feels like the nerves never lined up again in a large area. This stuff is really serious. I cannot even imagine going through what you have gone through. In my mind we "ALL" have a 3 piece set and it makes no difference at all to me. I wish everyone felt that way. If you are a woman with a male 3 piece set, good by me. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. I hope one day we will all love and accept everyone, without feeling we have to jump through all of these hoops to be different. You should definitely wait it out for a little while to get a view of the full result and how everything feels. My husband has a huge scar across his stomach, which has gotten flatter and lighter over the last 5 years and the numbness has reduced over time too. As long as you are not in constant pain you should give your body and mind time to recover from this life changing procedure. The hardest part is over, enjoy your life as a woman❣️

Maya, Question, Now that 3 months have past, And I assume the switch from even low amount of testosterone to estrogen is complete. Has this made any change to your senses, like do foods taste different or has your dreams changed subject or direction ?
Testosterone is produced naturally in ciswomen, but not in the levels that are found in cismen. That's why blockers are necessary. Once the organ that produces the T is removed, that's it. But with trans women, we do not have an organ that produces endogenous sex hormones, and so we need to get our hormones from external sources, for the rest of our lives. Once you start that process, yes, there are *lots* of changes. No one who hasn't been on HRT can have the least amount of no idea how many and how deep those changes go, simply because they lack any kind of comparison point. It's like asking someone who doesn't see what the difference between red and blue is. There's simply no framework there for you to begin to even conceptualize that there could be a difference, much less understand what that difference can be like to experience. It really highlights to me that our view of reality is highly filtered by our ability to perceive it, and hormones are part of that filter system, and as such we need to be especially careful of the conclusions we reach, because they're being influenced by so many factors we simply aren't (and sometimes can't be) aware of.

Firstly doctors do swear by oath to do no harm to their patient but this does not relate at all to trans re-assignment surgery. Trans women (the reason why I refer mostly to trans women is because trans men don’t get the bottom surgery much as doctors don’t have much experience with phalloplasty) overall feel happy in their bodies when they get bottom surgery and less dysphoric. What causes dysphoria? The feeling of being in the wrong body this has to do with gender identity and sometimes biological factors that we don’t entirely understand.

I'm a middle-aged, cis woman.Girl, you are A MAY ZING! And let me tell you something. I've had two vaginal births, one vaginal hysterectomy and I'm 52. There is no perfect. We are all different down there and the aesthetic changes over time. The most important thing is sensations and that doesn't require a perfect aesthetic. Even sensations change as you get to know yourself better. After living as a straight woman for 40 years and then experiencing intimacy differently as a lesbian, I can tell you that sensation is more about your mind then the physical act. And you have a beautiful, brilliant mind.

Good to see/hear this post. What you're doing here is very necessary and you do it so well. (It's shifted the way I, for one, think about such matters and that's no small achievement.) Full marks to your developing linguistic dexterity, achieved with such good humour (yes, I'm English). One minuscule piece of advice: give yourself time. Healing 'down there' takes ages. My perspective as a bloke is from a couple of relatively recent hernia ops that left me alarmingly swollen for a lot longer than I had expected from such a minor op! But it did all go down in time - and the numbness went too. Sympathies with the C-19 lockdown; it's the same here in London. And yes, so glad for you about the apartment.

Hi, Maya! I’m a cis woman and I have had scars from other things, but if you use cocoa butter on your scars it fades away faster & a plus is it smells nice and is so moisturizing. You can get the jar of it or a stick for easier application. Using once a day or twice a day in morning to night.💓
Also, Just so you know, Miss Maya- coming from a very sensitive “pleasure bean” person, being sensitive is actually quite normal for many CIS females :) so, you’re pretty close to being “normal” being that it’s sensitive there- especially after an “O” ❤️🥰
I was thinking the same thing. Sometime direct stimulation on the bean is to much to enjoy. Sometimes a little off center is better. It takes years for women to get to know our bodies, and, it hasnt been to long since its been ok to discuss female pleasure. Consider it a normal journey!

Ok so I just had to look at before and after pictures, they were from medical sites I hope that's ok..But they all looked great! All looked like normal vaginas to me, pretty amazing. Most men don't even know female anatomy lol, they're not going to notice if the labia minora isn't positioned perfectly

Our souls do live within a human shell while on this earth though, and if for some reason someone feels gender dysphoria and like they aren't themselves, and are able to do something about it in order to live a happier life, than who am I to judge? Many individuals who do come to regret their decision in regards to transitioning, have experienced trauma in their life which impacted the way they viewed themselves and the choices they have made-and come to regret. There are also other folks who have grown up free from trauma and felt a soul and body disconnect, and were very happy with their choices regarding this issue. I don't claim to understand everything by any means, but I do try to have an open mind, and support others in living their lives how they see fit, learning from their mistakes, etc.

You said it yourself this is connected to trauma and the reason people try to physically change themselves because they dislike themselves the way they are, they are trying to not be themselves to become happier. Instead of teaching them to love themselves THE WAY THEY ARE, they are deceived into rebelling against God. God makes all things beautiful and does not make mistakes. Are they taught this truth? I think I might have ripped a labia minora a month or two ago accidentally when I was washing, pinched and pulled. So you can have the unsymmetrical and red new skin in a cis private area too. No idea what anybody else’s looks like but it’s bound to be varied like everything else is.
As a retired nurse i find your info interesting. I have had only one surgery, a low cut cesarean. The nerve sensation was never the same again. it still feels numb on and around the suture line and that was 33 yrs ago. I never felt the same again. It feels like the nerves never lined up again in a large area. This stuff is really serious. I cannot even imagine going through what you have gone through. In my mind we "ALL" have a 3 piece set and it makes no difference at all to me. I wish everyone felt that way. If you are a woman with a male 3 piece set, good by me. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. I hope one day we will all love and accept everyone, without feeling we have to jump through all of these hoops to be different. You should definitely wait it out for a little while to get a view of the full result and how everything feels. My husband has a huge scar across his stomach, which has gotten flatter and lighter over the last 5 years and the numbness has reduced over time too. As long as you are not in constant pain you should give your body and mind time to recover from this life changing procedure. The hardest part is over, enjoy your life as a woman❣️

Maybe you were just trying to be kind, but there's no need to say stuff like this, sorry. Plenty of women are not unhappy about how their genitals look, and the fact that you use the euphemism "down there" honestly makes it seem like you have serious issues with the female body. I'm sorry for you if you feel that way, but it's not "part of being a woman".

Maya, Question, Now that 3 months have past, And I assume the switch from even low amount of testosterone to estrogen is complete. Has this made any change to your senses, like do foods taste different or has your dreams changed subject or direction ?
Testosterone is produced naturally in ciswomen, but not in the levels that are found in cismen. That's why blockers are necessary. Once the organ that produces the T is removed, that's it. But with trans women, we do not have an organ that produces endogenous sex hormones, and so we need to get our hormones from external sources, for the rest of our lives. Once you start that process, yes, there are *lots* of changes. No one who hasn't been on HRT can have the least amount of no idea how many and how deep those changes go, simply because they lack any kind of comparison point. It's like asking someone who doesn't see what the difference between red and blue is. There's simply no framework there for you to begin to even conceptualize that there could be a difference, much less understand what that difference can be like to experience. It really highlights to me that our view of reality is highly filtered by our ability to perceive it, and hormones are part of that filter system, and as such we need to be especially careful of the conclusions we reach, because they're being influenced by so many factors we simply aren't (and sometimes can't be) aware of.

What I wish, based on listening to you, is that there are more good doctors that help trans people with their transition without making them regret surgery just because of a doctor being indifferent or incompetent.
