It is super weird to see an ICE in that kind of situation. It's like you are using a Lamborghini as a golf cart on a mini golf court.

Züegli. Ich komme zwar aus Niedersachsen, mag aber Schwizerdütsch gerne. Generell finde ich die Dialektvielfalt schön.

Switzerland sure is beautiful! I like that at wide streets FOUR arms are used as that prevents impatient people from going around the arms like here in the USA. The absence of the train horn being blasted at the grade crossing would take some getting used to. Great video!

Für die, die sich wundern: Interlaken hat zwei Bahnhöfe (west und ost).
Interlaken West ist eine Haltestelle in der Nähe der Stadt und der Schiffanlegestelle.
In Interlaken Ost besteht Anschluss nach Luzern, und Grindelwald / Lauterbrunnen / Wengen (alles Meterspur) weshalb alle Züge nach Ost fahren, um die Umsteigeverbindungen zu ermöglichen. Aber es führt kein Gleis (Normalspur) weiter. Jeder Zug fährt dann von Ost quer durch die Stadt zurück nach West (Dauer 2-3 Minuten) und ab da auf einer ganz normalen Trassée weiter Richtung Bern, Basel, Frankfurt.
Ein Deutscher ICE mitten in der Schweiz! Hätt ich nicht gedacht. Schöne Gegend meine diesjärige Motorradtour-Region!

There are a lot of other trains near Interlaken, the most amazing is the Jungfraubahn whose end station is located at an attitude of 3450 meters above sea level.
That was a Intercity at 4:40. It has a restaurant

Excellent coverage specially to see trains crossing city roads in such a discipline manner
Very interesting video.
When I first watched the first scene from 0:06 it almost looked as if the ICE was actually driving on the streets, almost like a streetcar/tranway, but it isn't. A quick look on Google Maps reveals that track runs along the streets at an odd angle, with as little as 5 meters by Marktgasse. Now if that isn't a case of "visual confusing or obstraction", I don't what is.

DER KANNONENMANN Hallo sry bei eurer Landesgrösse ist es einfacher Infrastruktur zu erreichten. Ich mag beide Länder, wäre mir wie bereits oben erwähnt dennoch zu ländlich in der Schweiz. Überleg mal wie der Reichtum der Schweiz teilweise entsteht, auf den Rücken anderer (krumme Bankgeschäfte z.B). Ist kein Vorwurf
Hab das Video vor 7 Jahren schon gesehen und heute fahre ich wöchentlich dieses Strecke ! Damals hätte ich nicht gedacht das dies mal mein Arbeitsplatz wird ! 😅

Klasse. Bekommt von mir 5 Sterne. Alle Schweizer Züge und natürlich die ICE-Züge. Das sieht ja Kram aus wenn die Züge mitten durch die Stadt fahren direkt am China-Restaurant vorbei. 👍👍👍👍👍
Naja kann auch ziemlich aufregen. Musste mal ohne scheiss 10 min vor der Barriere warten, weil gleich 4 Züge durch sind. Und nein die konnten zwischendurch die Schranken nicht aufmachen😠

It's not passing through a city. It's stopping in the city, and stopping twice. That's why it goes so slow.
Intercities passing through cities without stopping is kind of the most normal thing, cause only big cities have elevated tracks or bridges over the tracks etc.

Ah, the wonderful quietness of European trains! Will it ever be that way here in the USA?
The weight of freight trains is in US much higher than in switzerland. But given the power, the US diesel locomotives are very weak compared to the electric locomotives we have in Switzerland ;)
The speed of the trains is also much higher - even of the freight trains in Switzerland than in the US.
You would need less Locos when you would electrify youre freight lines good electric locomotives are way more powerful than youre diesel locos get a BR 182 and you have 6400 kW quiet power :)
By quietness, I was referring to the absence of all that horn blowing you hear here in the US.

@@julianadams5753 It has to do with density of the cities. Most crossings in Europe are in urban areas, and have ramps on them. That can not be applied to the US, as communities are spread apart, and crossings cost too much to maintain just to be used by a couple people a day, so the trains sound their horns to warn other travelers. Makes sense, no?

Hätte nicht gedacht das Interlaken derart viele BÜ's hat - außerdem schön zu sehen wie oft der ICE zu sehen war :) Manche von den Strecken ähneln mehr einer Stadtbahn als einer Fahrt vom Bahnhof zum nächsten :)
Die Japaner/Chinesen bei 8:00 haben wohl zum ersten Mal einen BÜ in seiner Form gesehen :)

ist genau das Problem bei uns in Interlaken. viele Touristen kommen nicht zurecht. deswegen gibt es alle 3-4 Monate einen Unfall mit autos die auf der Bahnstrecke stehen.

Could be south west Bavaria. They share very similar towns and architecture to Switzerland.
You can hear car drivers switching their engines back on once the barriers are up again. Very Swiss, and a good thing.

Das kommt davon, wenn BWLer und Juristen Eisenbahn spielen dürfen. Da kann es auch passieren, daß die höchste Temperatur bei 25 °C liegt und die tiefste bei -10 und dementsprechende Klimaanlaen werden dann bilig in China gekauft und im ICE eingebaut.

sie stehen nur dicht am Gleis. Bahnsteigkantenhöhe ist 76cm. Und Zug Höhe 3,84. Also in etwa so hoch wie ein großer LKW mit Container.

In D gibt es gerade so scheiss Probleme da schau ich mir lieber Deine Videos an .Ich war im vorigen Jahr Bei Euch .Es war einfach schön. Habe nicht viel Rente ,aber die Schweiz wollte ich sehen. Bernia und Clacier Express und es war einmalig!!!!Und immer wieder schaue ich mir bei You Tube alles an .
Züge im Hintergrund von Wohnvierteln ist schön!
