By the name of the sponsors and the look of the work done at Novo, this is truly going to be an incredible guitar. What about giving it away to an aspiring musician to kick off his/her career ? Like "hey, I gave you this gem. So out of respect for everybody else who wanted this guitar so bad, you should quit your day job and live out of your passion. And remember, there is no plan B."
Looks great! Love that the Grain still shows through - at the moment anyway. Hopefully, people will realise now that a 'CNC' shaped body still needs a LOT of hand sanding to finish the body, to remove all the CNC machining marks etc. I still think people don't realise how much 'hand work', how much skilled sanding goes into a guitar body and neck before it can even get to the spray booth. I get the impression that a lot believe guitars are CNC'd and that's a body finished. Even when you think its 'finished', you need to sand some more. Any imperfection will show on a 'body' when its sprayed so it has to be 'perfect'. Can't wait to see this finished...
I gotta say, your vids have become one of my absolute favourites here on TH-cam, I love how your passion for what you do shines through in every one of them! Love the guitar-building series! Keep going! Cheers
Epic! I know you are gonna love this guitar and watching the making of this guitar is something super special! Thanks Rhett and sponsors for providing us with awesome content to watch.
This is inspiration for me to start rebuilding a squier bullet that is sitting around. I appreciate this channel because Rhett you have clear opinions and perspectives that you are not afraid to share.
Man, Aztec / Shoreline Gold are my favourite of the old-school Fender custom colours. Can't even begin to imagine how unbelievable this guitar will look having been dished the Novo finishing treatment. Classy call, Rhet (and the fine folks at Novo!) This is gonna be a guitar after my own heart.
Wow. Huge sponsors list, that guitar is gonna be awesome. Wen you said gold I was a little skeptical but being able to see the wood grain at the end I changed my mind. I'm looking foward to see the final result.
I remember when this was posted originally there was a follow up video where the pickups were installed and he did a play through but I can’t find it anymore
Dang! My grandparents had six or seven HUGE Catalpa trees in their yard when I was young. We always called them bean trees, because they grow these really long bean-looking things. They had them cut down when I was in my early twenties and I have no idea what happened to the lumber, but it would have been really cool to have gotten a few blanks out of them. I really like the grain.
Can’t wait for this giveaway! The Strat being my favorite guitar ever made (ever), I’m very excited for the outcome of this one!! Beautiful guitar finish in that thin coat of Aztec Gold lacquer - can’t wait to see it assembled and all soldered up. Jimi, Stevie, Rory, and John would be proud! Hope it gets out in the hands of another good player 🤞🏼
I was terrified when you put a solid color over those beautiful grains, but I absolutely love the look of the gold over the unfilled grains!! I think I might try that scheme on a build of my own!
I love the idea of gold. I think Aztec Gold and Inca Silver are two of the coolest colors ever. Watching the paint go on though, I was thinking how cool it might look to just leave it with a thin enough coat of the gold that you could still see through it.
At the begining, I was like - you are gonna ruin this beautiful piece of wood painting it. At the end of the video, I'm totally loving it in this color, it's absolutely amazing, loving it, unbelievable paint job. Dreaming about winning it.
Wow. I've never built anything with Catalpa, but I have lots of those trees. It's pretty heavy wood, but it holds a lot of water. Interesting that it gets light when dried out. Sure does look similar to ash.
Painting that guitar looked easy. And by the Chet Atkins rule, that means that both the sander and the finisher are skilled beyond my comprehension level. Awesome.
Trying to get an even sanded finish in dappled sunshine is seriously hard... I've been there working on boats... you end up going by feel. You see how much light Joe had at his bench? That's what you need.
I've been looking at Aztec Gold strats for a while now, and a beautiful one got stolen just before I could buy it, so you're absolutely teasing me with this!
This is going to be one fantastic build the color is on point an I would like to win this guitar it`s about time for a upgrade right now what do I have to do to get this one tell me I am ready.
Love the grain on that body !! You got lucky with all those sponsers this is gonna turn out nice !!
Love watching the progress on my new Stratocaster!! 🤪

There was something very hypnotic and calming in watching that guy paint the guitar.

Wow that is an absolutely beautiful color and the grain coming thru adds the perfect touch. I'm jealous of whoever the winner of this will be!
Strong work Rhett! When I'm sanding I go by the rule. When you think you're done you're never done.
Rhett - gorgeous color! I love how you can still see the wood grain even after all that paint!
What happened to the partscaster?? Looks great but can't find any more recent videos on it!
Fun stuff! Thanks Rhett!!
Is there a video of this Guitar finished for the giveaway? I can't find it. It looked gorgeous.
With that finish and the parts and hardware, that's gonna be a sweet guitar.

This Strat will look amazing! With so many people's work behind this, It would be a dream to play one!
Really interested to know... what ever happened with this thing? Been looking for other videos with it and can’t find any.
Same!
@@El-Scorcho I’m afraid we’re never getting closure on this one… :/
@@beatsmithaudio9245 I think he built it, but liked it so much he didn’t wanna give it away.
@@pugforce8315 Haha can’t blame him for that. Still wish we could hear or see it though.
I love how there is still some slight wood grain showing even after the paint. Looks killer!
Sounds good! Awhile back there was a clip of a guy making a guitar out of colored map pencils! Came out sounding great as well! Pretty neat!
This is going to be amazing. I look forward to more of your videos on this.

Beautiful color choice... what an honor it’d be to win such a one of a kind masterpiece
Looks cool with that grain peeking through
Love the way this is going. Thin finish shows the beautiful grain. Some light relicing rustic elements would look cool.
These videos make me smile 😁
can't wait. Classy choices. It pays to know somebody
Is there a part 2?
That looks really good.
This looks so good!

Okay, I give up! Where does one find the aforementioned posted links on how to qualify to win the finished Stratocaster?
Oh boy I want it
