The Doctrine of Imputation | Paul Washer

  • This is the second part of the "Christ Became Sin For Us" video.
    Many World of Faith movement (WOF) preachers including Todd White, teach that Jesus actually became a sinner on the cross. That is blasphemous, ludicrous heresy.
    In 2 Corinthians 5: 21, Paul tells us that Christ became sin for us. It means God treated Christ as if He were a sinner.

    Powerful sermon. Christ was the only one who held all the covenant promises yet he took all the covenant curses. He took all our curses and carried them on that cross. He was forsaken by God that we may have grace!

    Thank you so much for the time you've taken in editting this powerful message for us to hear without the interpreter. It's such an extraordinary message of what Jesus has done for us and Paul Washer lays everything out so gently and simply. I pray that the Lord uses it mightily for His glory in bringing people to Him. What a wonderful Saviour!!

    Please pray for me. I deliberately rejected Christ for so long, almost a year. I was a professing Christian, and I walked away with the intention to get saved later, and to just enjoy sin for a little while. I was an apostate and now I am scared I might commit the unforgivable sin. My issue is that I don't want to give up my sin. I know I can't do it without God but I dont want God. I wish I wanted God, but I'm not sure if that feeling is genuine or not. I still love my sin and i wish I didn't love my sin, I'm not sure if this feeling is sincere or genuine. I've been praying for God to make me hate my sin, but I'm not sure if those prayers are sincere or genuine. Please pray that my desire for salvation becomes genuine and sincere and that God saves me. Please pray for me.

    I believe this good news. I believe this Gospel given to Paul through many revelations. Why are you so sad Paul? The joy of the Lord is our strength. You can be happy too Paul. You really can. Sustaining Charismatic mantra chords and nature scenes are nice, but the gospel is so much better Paul. Believe the gospel you know, and it will set you free.

    I understand these videos and the intentions behind them. But this one was kind of out of balance for me. Pauls message was wonderful and so insightful in explaining the meanings to the cup and the cross, pointing out what is usually taught about these things. The beating etc. Yet the images in this video throughout are images of those very things; the thorns, the nails and such. While those things are valid points they just didn't fit the intended message. To me anyway. I don't know how the message could have been portrayed in a video, as it was a spiritual event. I did truely love the sermon. But teaching red all the while showing blue could be confusing. But the production itself was very well done, as are all of these videos.

    The problem with imputed righteousness is that it makes Sola Fide contradict sanctification. Thats why Sola Fide is false.

    • @bobbymathew1898
      @bobbymathew1898 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Righteousness imputed by faith to a Christian is the New Covenant truth revealed in Paul's writings especially Romans. Sanctification does not make a Christian more righteous because the righteousness he/she has is the righteousness of Jesus imputed through faith. God grants us his righteousness because our righteous deeds are like filthy rags irrespective of our level of sanctification. There really is no problem with either imputed righteousness or Sola Fide and they do not contradict sanctification.

    • @dman7668
      @dman7668 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @bobbymathew1898 you need to give me a definition for what sanctification is. Also, your good works are not filthy rags. This is a misunderstanding for you the protestant. When you become baptized you become a new creation and are created for good works. Maybe your good works are filthy rags, but mine are not filthy rags.

    Without all the music and emotionalism added to the message the very important part should be how can one go to Heaven and it is simple
    Just by simply believing in Jesus Christ alone for Salvation.
    That Jesus Christ paid for all our sins on the cross
    He was crucified, buried, and Jesus Christ was raised up from the dead on the third day.
    He is The Way The Truth and The Life No one can go to the Father in Heaven except through Jesus Christ.
    His death burial Resurrection has paid for all our sins for those who believe will have eternal life.
    John 3 16 says "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE."

    Paul Washer never once defined what IMPUTATION actually meant. Imputation is a legal term, meaning declared to be or reckoned righteous. Greek: λογίζεσθαι Where we get our word logic and logistics. It is the Father’s declaration of us being made righteous because of Christ’s mediation.

    Hebrews 12:6-11 KJVS
    For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. [9] Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? [10] For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. [11] Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
    Nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Everybody likes something for nothing. And that’s what is being preached here. It fills the pews, and the money just keeps on pouring in.

      @jjjj-ss8dq ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dman7668 it depends how you define sanctification. As it relates to justification it is not " progresive" it says in hebrews by one offering he has perfected forever those that " are sanctified" and also paul said to the corinthians " have you forgotton you were washed" so we see as it relates to salvation the believer is already sanctified or washed by the blood of the lamb.

    • @dman7668
      @dman7668 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jjjj-ss8dq
      Sanctification is a process by which we become more holy or more like Christ. This process increases our Glory, our righteousness and our justification before God.
      Because one cannot become "more" like Christ and NOT become more righteous/justified.
      This contradicts Sola Fide. Which states one becomes righteous only by faith alone you gain the righteousness of Christ.
      Well now we have a problem, because you haven't considered how this contradicts sanctification. This idea of gaining Christ's righteousness means it is not compatible with Sola Fide. One cannot become more righteous once they possess Christ's righteousness. Therefore it is not possible to BE sanctified.
      They cannot both live in the same cinematic universe. Like Spiderman and Batman.

    • @jjjj-ss8dq
      @jjjj-ss8dq ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dman7668 as I said I don't believe sanctification is a process. A person is sanctified at moment of salvation because as i said they are now washed clean by the blood of the lamb, so yes Sola fide is compatible.

    • @dman7668
      @dman7668 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jjjj-ss8dq No. Sola Fide is not compatible with that idea. If it were the Bible would not say that we go onto ever increasing glory. Therefore your understanding that being sanctified happens instantly is not true. Sanctification is becoming more Christ like. You are not doing that instantly.
