This simple, cartoony aesthetic is something I've sorely missed in modern gaming 😊

Part of the reason why we need more games like that such as Jak & Daxter and or Sly Cooper.
Honestly part of why PlayStation was booming because of how many games that looked like this. In fact IIRC there were more cartoony stylish 3D platformer games than realistic adventures on Playstation.
When PlayStation 2 came, it was balanced.
When PlayStation 3 came, it began shifting to realism over stylish.

The first boss is definitely a Donkey Kong reference: Gorilla and steel beams
Is more like a King Kong reference because the battle is in the buildings, maybe if the Kong would throw barrels and would have a tie it would be a reference

@General_Boo well, I've seen some footage and comparisons, and the difference in performance and graphics is very small, almost non-existent. Also it doesn't have a disk drive or a stand.

Like 150 actual characters and then hundreds of game references in-between that includes non Sony IP's as well as references to all of ps history including accessories and consoles
@@petebagwell6666 thanks for the answer. Man there's so many references on Astrobot, that I'm glad at least Sony tried to refrencing their gaming history. I kinda like the Bloodborne one (Not because I'm a edgelord, I just like the contrast between a cute mini robot with a Dark Victorian esque Bloodborne Hunter Outfit).
