"Midwinter is the middle of the winter. The term is attested in the early Germanic calendars where it was a period or a day which may have been determined by a lunisolar calendar before it was adapted into the Gregorian calendar. It appears with several meanings in later sources, including the Christmas season, the first day of Þorri and the period from the middle of January to the middle of February. Since the 18th century, it has sometimes been misunderstood as synonymous with the astronomical winter solstice, which the word also can refer to in contemporary English." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midwinter Thank you for the round up, looking forward to this scenario, really exciting stuff!
Have you all ever done a video for tips for building for a standalone scenario? Obviously you can do a standalone to test out a deck, but how do you prepare for a scenario pack like this?
Awesome! It’s a lot of fun! I have quite a few of them under my belt and I’ll be there this year too! Just a piece of advice, bring more than one deck. You’d be surprised at how that investigator you thought no one else would bring is the same one someone else at your table brought. I like to have a few options for that possibility.
Wish they'd go back and fix the previous scenarios to make them a little more balanced in how they function. Super bad to build a deck around combat when there is no combat.... Or to build a deck to gather clues but be forced into a giant battle. This sounds like an interesting scenario. Reminds me a everyone has the same objective, but they need to go about it a diifferent way. natrually whoever wins gets the prize, for better or worse. Would be amazing if such a concept was made into a campaign where who you work for chnages how the story proceeds. Not like the previous campaigns, but one multi-pathed campaign, perhaps something along the lines of this being the first scenario, followed by a 'down time' co-op scenario which may be related to the final scenario, followed by an after effect scenario which depends on which faction won the first. Sure it's 3 scenarios, but with varied direction.
@@PlayingBoardGames for people like that should they add an option to buy assets from side scenarios for extra xp or something like that? Would be fun to see side scenarios cards in regular decks
@@Gaudaloth It'd be a neat thing to homebrew for fun, but I personally think the fact that side scenario rewards need to be earned is good, because it lets the reward cards be pushed more than regular player cards.
If the rewards are easy to get then you're welcome to shortcut it pay the experience and say you did it. If they're hard to get then either you try every campaign and you feel good when you get it or you decide it's not wroth the xp risk and you don't always attempt it.

Headed to gen con for the first time, have my midwinter gala ticket and I’m very excited

@@aaronstark5060 Thats good advice, thank you. Should I generate weaknesses beforehand?

I always do. But I don’t think it would be a problem if you didn’t.
Oh boy the lantern club? Let's goooo
Those allies seem super strong. At the very least, the scenario has replay value for each of the different factions.
Great video, thank you
I'm having one hell of a deja vu
It looks very cool!

Just got done w Hemlock Vale. Seems like Judith Park may be on the next campaign? I wonder if she becomes a playable investigator?
Is there anything that points to that?
Who Judith Park?
@@TheShanicpower the Epilogue is what gave me that idea
@@WayOfHaQodesh she is a villager in Hemlock Vale
The semi competitive is going to be a mess just like all of the other large group variants. I might cancel my gencon slots based on learning about it.
I'll wager the Jewel of Sarnath is a key.
Some of those allies are super wild, i wonder if the power creep would force you to play the scenario to make a thematic deck with them
I think if someone feels like they need to play this standalone to get the player card in their deck, that's more on the player than the standalone.

Honestly I feel Like they just naturally fit in certain decks tbh
