I own one of these. Quick story. 15 years ago I carried an Explorer that I made into a Plus model. My friend was throwing a big party and beforehand we met up at a bar. The date I took to the bar was a little tipsy so she tossed me her new BMW keys(335xi?). She threw it too high and the keys went flying into a sewer grate. I took my Explorer’s parcel hook and hyper extended it, used both my shoelaces to tie into the key ring. I was able to hook the parcel hook onto one of her few key rings that she had on her car keys. 😂
That's why I started carrying a metre or so of bank line in my pocket, just in case. My normal EDC is Vic Climber (with plus scales and including eyeglasses mini driver) so that has the hook. Saw the hack in some vid or other.
I use the corkscrew all the time in jacket weather. I'm a truck driver. Sometimes when i use the rest room the coat hanger will be missing on the stall door. Just screw the sak into the hole that is in the door and you have a coat hanger.🖖
I have had 2 of these and everyday carried both of them. The first one i broke the file on and bought another one to replace is. I have a carry pouch that goes on my belt. The straight pin comes with the screwdriver, Ink pen, Tweezers, and tooth pick in the accessories pack from Victorinox.
If you’re talking about the replacement parts kit that Cutlerylover mentions, then no, it doesn’t come with the straight pin, but it does come with everything else you mentioned. Had to buy the pins separately when I purchased the kit a couple months ago.
I've had the nail clip 580 model on my keychain for years now. Perfect little tool for clipping and cleaning nails and the classic toothpick works great in a pinch. I couldn't recommend it more honestly.
nice. i carry one maybe 2 days a week. mine has the Rosewood scales. it came with a Swiss Army watch i got like 20 years ago. i carry the Swiss Army Trekker for the bigger blade more often. but i always have my Para 3 on me.
I have a predecessor of the SwissChamp since early 90's (think it was called just Champion) which has most the same tools, except for the pliers, parcel hook, pin and pen. Still too big for EDC though. For EDC I use the Spartan that has only 2 layers and which I gave SwissChamp scales so I could add the pin (I have had it since the 80's so it could use new scales). Also added the mini screw driver.
Love the vid ! From what I can see the only thing different from yours was my 8th grade grad present and I still have the cork screw flat head I’ve used many times for glasses but I had to sacrifice the push pin that stayed locked when the cork screw was depressed I used it to pin my date’s corsage to her dress for HS prom and never got it back maybe I’m crazy and it is a deep deep china fake but mine came with that needle size push pin cheers I still carry it ! If I listened too early and you had it in the vid my apologies!! ***Edit yes you did say and I’m glad you noted still love I lost mine at prom and only that lol cheers
Package hook can also be used to hard cinch cordage or wire down that might otherwise cut into your hands. Paracord , Bank line etc. Corkscrew can be used to tease tight knots open in cord as well.
The Hook is traditionelly for something else. This goes back to old german/ Austrian / swiss Hunting Knifes. It's for Hunting snipes. There is an Old dish called " schnepfendreck " which is the intestants of the bird. ( snipe is Schnepfe in German ) And this hook is traditionelly from old knifes specifically made for Hunting them. U can put it un the Bird and twist it so u can pull out all the intestants at once. Yeah it's gross and that's why they market it as a Carry handle. In germany they even teach u this when u take class to get a Hunting licence ( which is rly hard ingermany and takes up to a year ) and this can be asked even in final exam. Now u know xD
@@navyvet05 Of course I do. I keep them in the garage at my workbench, whereas my office is in the basement. 90% of all small tasks I might have to do there are easily solved by simply reaching into my drawer for this. I'm not talking about stuff I'd need a full size hammer or power drill for lol

Cool sorry....if true. ;)
Love the Explorer. Great inline Philips.

Great video. I carry one everyday. I’ve attached a suspension hook on mine to hang inside my pocket. Great multi tool.
I have one. Such a good tool, and super sturdy too.
I carry a swiss champ everyday. I love it.

Send your broken file one to Victorinox for repair.

Love the Victorinox videos Jeff. Just recently bought an Alox mini champ and cadet and this will likely be my next purchase.
Jeff, How about filming a fishing video soon? Thanks
Yes
I EDC a black victorinox tinker. Love it!

I’ve bought two parts kits and it is somewhere around $75 still. Definitely better than getting parts from ebay or amazon, at least over a lifetime.
Looks like the same magnifying glass as the Explorer. What I love about it is it is strong enough to start a fire, which is cool out in the woods.

This is my EDU ,
Every day use,
But never carried .
My EDC is the Victorinox cadet.

Dont have one but had an older model tinkerer that was lost in a bike accident. Miss that tool everyday, sometimes as much as the skin 😂😅

mine usually stays on my tool bench in the garage. the pliers are perfect for joint holding. 😤💭🙃
I carry both a huntsmen with plus scale and the rescue tool models. Hope to get a champ someday.
I used to carry mine in a belt pouch until I got myself a Swiss Tool Spirit and a Classic SD.
That's really cool 😎.
Don’t turn the comments off on videos man. You’re going to lose the last few fans you have
Believe swissbianco has the best price on replacement parts for your SAK
The little screwdriver is available for $8.00 on eBay

Owned one of these for _many_ years. I never carry it, but it's always lived in my desk drawer at home and is extremely handy there.

I like handyman better, champ is slightly too thick, but still very usable
I got one to replace my victorninox fishermen that I left at a hotel
Mine doesn't have the pliers
best victorinox EDC is the nail clip one. so useful.
