My brother, this is the most intricate cake I have ever made and it came out beautiful. I’m getting ready to do my buttercream swirls right now I wanna make the New Orleans berry cake next. I had no idea you were self-made. I can’t imagine I am so impressed.❤❤❤🎉🎉
So I did make this cake. I also made a 2 layer chocolate cake as well and alternated the chocolate and white layers to make it look even more like an Oreo when it was sliced.
I’ve never made a Swiss meringue buttercream like this and I was worried cause I usually beat the egg whites first and then pour boiling sugar syrup down the side of the bowl to form the meringue.
But this method of yours poaching the egg whites to 120 degrees first, cooling, and then just beating them worked beautifully. I couldn’t believe how how well it whipped up with the butter and powdered sugar.
Superb cake, nice crumb, good rise, and even tops out of the oven-better than my chocolate layers. It’s a perfectly formulated cake recipe with a delightfully rich and surprisingly light and not-too-sweet Swiss meringue buttercream frosting.

OH MY LORD! You know I am going to make this I was wondering who would ever make one from scratch, I bake everything from scratch, and why you do not have a baking shop so I can come work for you?
