Great video thanks Chris. I've found a small micro fibre cloth sorts out any condensation you see. For seam sealing, a roughly 50% mix of white spirit with pure silicon clear bath sealant works well, and keeps the cost down when you're liberal with it. Keep the vids coming.....
Thanks for watching. It's all sealed now, I bought some Silnet and thinned it with white spirit. Did a few other tents at the same time, so all good to go for the next one.
Very enjoyable video Chris thank you, sorted my Tuesday evening out , loved the timelapses and music very nice and mindful , I am desparate for a tent I can sit up in , just got back from a camp in the Lakes and I need my tarp to go over the tent haha , bad amateur hour me mate !! Great video mate love your tent set up looks very roomy and cosy lol love it when your in your tent and listening to the rain on the tent can't beat it 😀👍
Nice and tidy in that tent. TOO tidy 😂 mines like a plane crash site. Good message about getting out. I just go into autopilot mode and go. I pack my stuff on Wednesday. Finish it with food and beer on the day I go. I’ve seen good reviews of the lanshan like. They offered me one but I turned it down as I’m not great at reviews so let the other channels show it. Plus I’ve nowhere to set it up for seam sealing. They look good though. Nice and roomy. A good summer option definitely 👍 good to see you back out again and look forward to your next adventure 👍 we can meet up maybe october time. Keep in touch. Atb
Thanks pal - it's not always this tidy - was making some effort on this one trying to be all Zen and Hygge! Definitely needs seam sealing and I think the standard Lanshan would be warmer - I will swap you it for the BL Soulo if you like ;-) I'm just about to watch the Wizards Sleeve and definitely up for a camp with the NE lads like! Will do pal. ATB
Great Video, glad you enjoyed the lanshan, I love mine 😊been out in torrential rain with no sign of a leak. I seam sealed mine with thinned down clear builders silicone (thinned with white spirit, applied with supplied syringe.
Nice vid as always, really impressed with the Lanshan mind, it does the job. Weather is definitely changing don't ya think, not be long before we get the winter kit out Chris, thanks for sharing mate 👍🍻
Love it Chris mate. 😎😎😎 You’re so right about the get up and go - it’s that first - shall I shan’t I stuff. I always try and kick myself out of bed earlier than I need to cos I always find early morning the best Great vid again, well done for getting out in those conditions. 👍👍👍👍👍
It's the mental barrier mate - leaving a warm home for the wilds, wet and windy - can be tough to overcome - but once you have, it is ALWAYS worth it. ATB and thanks for watching!
Oh Chris I feel cold looking at you unpack the sleeping tissue, sorry sleeping bag. Lovely seeing teddy 🐻 Shame about the weather being unseasonable. I like the changing of the seasons but would prefer summer to last a bit longer. The tent ⛺ seems rather inconspicuous. Thank you for the video 👍
Can't beat the sleeping tissue - I think it's designed to wick heat away from the body and transfer it to the atmosphere. I enjoy Summer-ish, but roll on Autumn and Winter now I say! Thank you for watching! :-)
@@MCMOutdoors . . Gosh Chris, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. That's kind of you. Will need too look at you video again, so I can give you a time stamp reference. Back with that information in a couple of minutes Chris. Thank you my friend.
@@MCMOutdoors . . Me again Chris. It's the lovely pastoral music you play when going outside the tent to catch the fading light around 14.40 Chris. Lovely music, beautifully well chosen my friend.
@@MCMOutdoors . . Thank you so much for taking the trouble to let me know Chris. That truly is very kind and thoughtful of you. I'm can very grateful. Goodnight Chris. Happy dreams
That sky looked beauty! The space in them tents look ace but im still not convinced to be honest. Look too....faffy..to put up, and i imagine theyre cold to, and dont look to secure if the winds picked up. Great video again though mate. Thumbs up👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Richard, it was stable enough in the winds to be fair. Jury is still out for me and I am looking forward to using it a few more times, especially when seam sealed. A cracking shelter for the warmer months I think. The standard version with 4 season inner may be a good option too. ATB
Another cracking, honest tent review. Looks bloody brilliant for 2 season use. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the Revolution Race kit and how it compares to the Lhotse/ Changabang.
Great vid again mate i went to the lakes last night . On the way up i wanted my tent already pitched when i got there lol but as u said its all worth it
Excellent video mate, had go take this one in as a two parter so returned this morning to finish it off, I like the sound of the kebab meal, and the lanshan did well.. they’re a bit faffy for me but I know lots of people really enjoy them and how light they are.. atb mate - Damian
Nice one mate, certainly not as easy to pitch as other tents I have, but nice and light, compact and obviously the trekking pole design saves a lot of weight. ATB
The trouble with your reviews, Chris, is that I seem to end up buying most of what you recommend and the wallet’s starting to take a battering. I’ve never really thought about the Lanshan as I have too many tents as it is. It does look good though and I might be tempted. Great video as always.
That was a top video Chris, and very mindful. I find them really peaceful and relaxing to watch. Great drone footage and music choice as well. You would make an excellent speaker/ambassador for mindfulness. Keep up the excellent work and the positive messages about looking after the great outdoors 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Joe - happy that I made the most of my time off work - was lovely (and mindful) to be out in nature again. Appreciate you watching and taking time out to comment as always - Chris
Question - why take a book, which will be relatively heavy who you could have same book on a tablet, where you could also have TH-cam, maps etc and comparatively lightweight and easy to pack...I know my brother prefers a 'real' book and has a library, as I use too - just a thought. The food did look filling and I like that it was air packed too, as you can see what you are getting.. The jacket looks great, loved the zipped chest pockets, so I will be interested in the review of that and also loved the moody, colourful skies at 14.44. What a superb sound that pop was when the cork eventually popped and well done on hitting 12K! Sounded rough at 03.00 mind and awful when you cannot sleep, so I bet you were happy when it got light, despite the conditions, cheers Alan
Thanks for watching mate, I reckon that paperback is lighter than my ipad 😂 another decent meal but not as nice as the Reindeer one. Conditions were bad yet again, be nice to get a good weather camp in soon! ATB pal
Great vid pal.. I was actually thinking of getting one of those for a wild camp up at Red Tarn but that has just put me right off. The compact size looks superb but you may as well sleep in a tissue comment.. 😂😂😂.. I ended up getting a oex 2 season thing and yet to test. Keep up the good work pal. Oh and your recommendation with vango tempest 200👍
Thanks for the video. When I first saw the Lanshan tents, I maybe just mentally categorised them as a "budget option" (compared to some!) but I'm increasingly seeing examples of them in use which prove them to be more than capable and far from just "budget". Funny thing about that Asda cheapo sleeping bag - if it were a quilt, same specs, it would probably be flying off the shelves and into camping packs! Or perhaps they already do one - no Asda on my doorstep, sadly.
Hi Barry - I think the Lanshan has been improved and 3F UL gear are upping their game. The camera didn't do the winds justice - they really picked up throughout the night and were very gusty - so for a trekking pole tent with no real structure, this coped admirably. Granted it needs seam sealing - but I knew that and took the risk - as I just wanted to try it out - however I will seal it and keep trying it - trouble is I love tents and have to keep trying the others too! The Lanshan "PRO" is single skin, whereas the standard has an inner - which can be 3 or 4 season. I also believe you can specify a 4 season inner for the PRO version. Thanks for watching. The La
@@MCMOutdoors Bears! We have bears in the states. Cooking and eating inside the tent or your campground will lure Bears to your site because of the scent of food. That's why we hang our food 100 plus feet from our camp site at night, and cook/eat 2 miles away before reaching your camp site. It sucks for us lol
The Lanshan Pro 2 Is such a good tent, I'd say nothing can touch it for 150 quid. I sold my two pro 2s to mates and they love them. I only sold them as the shape is pushing it for me at at 6.3 and the wind can blow the material on my feet and head . I may buy another though as the room they give and weight and quality of materials for the money I'd like to still have one. The big Agnes tents are superb though I replaced the Pro 2 with a Copper Spur for a three season option
I'm looking forward to trying it out more, especially after seam sealing. Never tried any Big Agnes tents, but I've heard good things about them - ATB mate, Chris
Hi Chris, nice video. Looking forward to your review of revolution race gear. Hearing some very mixed reviews on the kit, with some early durability issues arising. Visually similar to some Fjallraven’s, but have a feeling they will not be a fair comparison for durability and quality. LP growing on me after watching Haze use one on his epic Cape Wrath Trail series. All the best Chris. Cheers🍺
Cheers Si, I've not hear any bad reports to be fair - but keep an open mind as with most things. In terms of cost, they are certainly much more affordable than Fjallraven, which if I'm honest now - find their prices ridiculous. Thanks for watching mate - Chris
Hey Chris. 100% agree with you on the pricing. Love the brand, but becoming out of reach. That said, just picked up a Keb Touring Down Jacket for half the list price. Something I have been after for a couple of years. Chuffed is an understatement, as the jacket is epic.
Great video mate, I was on haystacks at the weekend in my lanshan 2 pro, string winds and relentless rain after a superb sunset, never let a drop in all night, if you really want to make a tidy job of seam sealing, follow the video on the tarptent website, you can hardly even tell mine has been done 👍
I'll definitely do mine mate. I did my Telemark 2.2LW recently but used the tube and applicator. Will definitely use the white spirit and different thin brush technique next time.
Sensational. Congratulations on the video and thanks for sharing with us. Do you recommend Lanshan? What is the weight of the tent? I'm thinking about buying Lanshan Pro 1. Success and good winds. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏕️🌄🏞️🇬🇧🇧🇷
I've no experience with the Vango Cairngorm mate - however off the bat, 4 season use including (I suspect) snow loading, I would recommend a tent with proper poles, ideally geodesic and designed for four season conditions - hope that helps, ATB - Chris
@@MCMOutdoors I don’t think there will be loads of snow loading in Scotland and even less in England. I’m worried more about staying warm but I’ve seen people do winter camping with tarp and bivy so I think it should be ok
Nice one Chris. I wish I could sit cross legged as comfortably as you but my flexibility is s**t. Getting fit for wild camping could be a good subject to cover in one of your videos. ATB
Thanks for the suggestion mate - I am weirdly flexible (I have no idea how given my diet and craft beer intake), but yes - that sounds like a decent topic! Thanks for watching pal and I will talk about that in the next one given that's the first suggestion I've received - ATB, Chris
@@MCMOutdoors You know pal, I hadn't even considered that. I was just saying how impressed I have been with my original lanshan with 4 season inner, so much so that I'd like to get the pro version 3 season for the warmer months. Really good value for money, lightweight, pack size etc... I then mentioned how it had withstood a really windy night on a clifftop at Stoer lighthouse on a recent road trip around the Highlands, inviting you to check my post on insta with my insta handle - thats where they probably stepped in and removed the comment.. Great video by the way, some good camera work on this one man, atb.
No worries mate, that explains it then! I think the 4 season inner would make a big difference. I was impressed by how it handled such bad winds - good bit of gear mate & thank you for watching.
Hey ,great video ! I recently bought The lanshan 2 pro , And I was really concerned about how it handles High winds… so thank you! Do you have any idea about the wind limit speed for this tent ?
Not sure on the max wind speed, it held up is some pretty wild conditions there and that was pitched at max height. Lower it and it becomes even stronger and lower profile, so in theory would shed more wind. ATB - Chris
The standard Lanshan 2 has the choice of either 3 or 4 season inner. Both detachable. The Lanshan 2 Pro has no removable inner, just a sewn in inner tent. Hope this helps.
Haven’t you read that book yet! Lol , I have it and it’s worth a second read for sure. Another good one is In The Ghost Country by Peter Hillary and John E. Elder
Hey Chris, Great video as always! I've used cheapo silicon ear plugs on windy camps for a while and once you get the hang of moulding them into your ear they leave it basically silent. I sleep like a baby with them in. All the best and congrats on the 12k 😊
Great tip! Thanks - also thanks for the congrats re hitting 12K - never imagined that. I always worry about oversleeping if I cannot hear my alarm, but this watch vibrates too so I may just try that tip on this seasons winter camps. ATB
Great Once Again Chris, you look Happier in this one, than of late. Keep up the good work that is shown in every Adventure that you take us along. Really enjoy the peaceful undertones that is shown in your videos, complimented by a great soundtrack, really does feel like we are there with u, well done once again Chris.👌
Thanks for the kind words - sometimes I think I shouldn't use music, I might try a few just with natures soundtrack and see how they perform. Thank you for watching - ATB, Chris
You probably won’t see this, but if you do, I just want to adress your pronounciation of the kebabgryte (you did mention that you probably pronounced it wrong 😎). It was in fact pretty good, only one thing missing. In Norway we pronounce the E at the end of a word. But we say it more like an eh. I guess the same way it is pronounced in the word effect, if that makes any sense. Not that you really asked.. 😅 Anyway, I’m going back to enjoy the rest of this video now 👍

real turmat is real food, haven't had one meal that would be better in a restaurant. can't say that about any other brand, usually expedition food is a last resort measure xD the only bad thing is the price. it really is like in a restaurant ;-)

So inspiring …. Thank you. Alan
Thanks for watching Alan
Another great video regardless of the weather 😉 A great inspiration and finally planning my first camp in September. Keep up the good work!
Awesome! Thank you for watching Matt - enjoy your first camp mate ! ATB, Chris
Love it Chris mate. 😎😎😎
You’re so right about the get up and go - it’s that first - shall I shan’t I stuff.
I always try and kick myself out of bed earlier than I need to cos I always find early morning the best
Great vid again, well done for getting out in those conditions.
👍👍👍👍👍
It's the mental barrier mate - leaving a warm home for the wilds, wet and windy - can be tough to overcome - but once you have, it is ALWAYS worth it. ATB and thanks for watching!
@@MCMOutdoors Always Every time - so much to see and experience 👍👍👍👍
Really enjoying your channel!
Glad to hear it mate - thank you
Another top vid ! Some decent weather needed 😊
Fingers crossed mate! Some lovely Autumnal and Winter camps hopefully incoming! ATB !
Can’t wait for Autumn and maybe try my first snow camp in the soulo
Yep, get it done mate !
Lovely video Chris. Thanks for sharing.
Loved the music too. Would love to know what it is . . Cheers Chris. Take care.
Hi Keith, thank you - which track?
@@MCMOutdoors . . Gosh Chris, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. That's kind of you.
Will need too look at you video again, so I can give you a time stamp reference.
Back with that information in a couple of minutes Chris. Thank you my friend.
@@MCMOutdoors . . Me again Chris. It's the lovely pastoral music you play when going outside the tent to catch the fading light around 14.40 Chris.
Lovely music, beautifully well chosen my friend.
Okay, it's called "Hidden Imagination" by Amaranth Cove 👍
Thanks Andy, stay tuned mate.
Great vid again mate i went to the lakes last night . On the way up i wanted my tent already pitched when i got there lol but as u said its all worth it
Good business idea there mate, pre pitching service! Thanks for watching mate.
Pleasure...
Haha! Sorry mate, I like to give people honest and informed reviews; in the hope of helping some people out. Looking forward to more testing 👍
Well I start a few years ago with doing it different. Before I buy something new I have to sell or giveaway something else. Helps a lot!
good vid mate. you are safer wild camping than on your local hi streets.
Cheers, thanks for watching mate.
Beer donated 👍
Thanks 👍
Thank you Phil, I hope you enjoyed the video mate.
Good stuff mate, glad to hear it's helped with your decision making!
The La
Ha! Good thing you live in the UK. Here in the states we can only dream of cook/eat inside the tent.
Hi mate, are you not allowed to do that?
@@MCMOutdoors Bears! We have bears in the states. Cooking and eating inside the tent or your campground will lure Bears to your site because of the scent of food. That's why we hang our food 100 plus feet from our camp site at night, and cook/eat 2 miles away before reaching your camp site. It sucks for us lol
USED my lanshan 2 for a 2 week trek , loved it bought an upgrade ultimid 2 witrh half insrt i am missing my lanshan
Good choice!
Bem legal esse acampamento, beautyful 👏.
Obrigado por assistir, a Lanshan é uma ótima barraca! Atenciosamente, Chris
You're looking trim & healthy my friend 👍👍 I'm renaming you hannibal, on account of the chianti 😂
Haha, trying to keep on top of the old exercise now mate. Thanks for watching 👍
Nabbed a bargain there mate! Nice one 😁👌
Well done for getting to 12K subs! Hard work and great content has got you to that number, bet the next 12K comes a lot quicker.
Thanks mate, been a fun journey!
Typical British summer bring on winter for some good weather 👍👍
Haha, it is mate - thanks for watching.
I also bought Taiji 2 on their website, excellent tent
Yes, great bit of kit!
Love the content mate, whats the trousers and jacket your wearing?
Thanks for watching pal. Trousers are Nordwand Pro and jacket is 'Silence Proshell" both by Revolution Race
Hi mate, this is 915 grams - not bad hey! Thanks for watching.
@@MCMOutdoors Wowww... not bad at all. Thank you so much Chris.
No problem mate 🏕️👌
Is that a revolution race jacket you've got on? How is there gear?
I'll be reviewing it soon mate - yes, it's a Silence Proshell jacket
Hi, which one would you choose for Cairngorms in winter lanshan or vango Cairngorm? I can’t decide which one to choose
Real Turmat... that proper Norwegian camping food.
Very nice food!
Hiya, I left a comment on here yesterday about my lanshan experience up in the highlands - but it seems to have dissapeared, any ideas why?
No idea mate, if it included a link it was probably removed by TH-cam as it assumes they are spam 👍
@@MCMOutdoors thank you for the content pal.
ATB - Chris
Good review. I've been eyeing this tent for a while.
Which model of rucksack were you using? I couldn't work out which Fjallraven one it was :)
Thank you - it is a Singi 48 - a superb pack from Fjallraven - heavy but extremely well made and robust. ATB
@@MCMOutdoors Cheers, I have a Kajka 85 that I got on a massive discount last year... but it's a bit big most of the time. This looked perfect :)
I'm confused! On Amazon the Lans hand 2 ProRehab is s [LD, as a 3 or 4 season tent! Where is your inner tent?
Darn spell checker! LansHan 2 Pro.is sold as 3 or 4 season tent
The standard Lanshan 2 has the choice of either 3 or 4 season inner. Both detachable. The Lanshan 2 Pro has no removable inner, just a sewn in inner tent. Hope this helps.
Great video. New sub here. 👍
Cheers, thanks for the sub 👍
Haven’t you read that book yet! Lol , I have it and it’s worth a second read for sure. Another good one is In The Ghost Country by Peter Hillary and John E. Elder
Haha, many times - I just keep reading it again periodically. Thanks for the extra book suggestion. ATB
Hey Chris,
Great video as always!
Vin rouge à la bouteille 😭😭😭 la France 🇫🇷 en deuil 😂
Not sure what that means, but thanks for watching 👍
You probably won’t see this, but if you do, I just want to adress your pronounciation of the kebabgryte (you did mention that you probably pronounced it wrong 😎). It was in fact pretty good, only one thing missing. In Norway we pronounce the E at the end of a word. But we say it more like an eh. I guess the same way it is pronounced in the word effect, if that makes any sense.
Not that you really asked.. 😅
Anyway, I’m going back to enjoy the rest of this video now 👍
Thanks for the pronunciation tips. ATB
I love the Thermarest Corus quilt. Only about 500 grams and keeps you toasted
Will have to check this out Anne-Marieke !
Chris, you can't beat watching a fella with a beard, dressed in rugged outdoor gear sporting a head torch sitting in the middle of a field swigging from a mini bottle of chianti PMSL
Classic content fella👌
Haha, it's how I roll! Thanks for watching Arron - ATB pal
Brilliant...like many your videos are definitely the inspiration that helps me get out there, that and the fact I need the United nations at my house with the dogs 🐕..going up to haystacks end of month and just watching this makes me ready to go all the best marra stay safe 👌 🏕
Cheers mate - I've watched the ensuing chaos on your Insta feed - the little one on the sofa was going for it yesterday! Make a great tent guard dog! ATB pal
When you are in a single skin tent in the wind you get a spray of water on your face every couple of minutes.....lol. 😂
Refreshing 😁
real turmat is real food, haven't had one meal that would be better in a restaurant. can't say that about any other brand, usually expedition food is a last resort measure xD
the only bad thing is the price. it really is like in a restaurant ;-)
Lovely meals, thanks for watching mate
