Alexandria Vinichenko yes, they are wonderful! The best bit! I am English and as a child would always look for the stem while my mum cooked. Still eat it 60 years on. 😊
That is exactly the way I cook cabbage. So glad to hear you say to put in the dark green leaves. That makes it a beautiful meal. I put mine over rice and sometimes over buttered noodles.
Great video. I've made a similar version. I took about 4-5 slices of bacon, chopped, cooked it in the pot with a medium yellow onion I had sliced into half rings. I also chopped the cabbage into smaller pieces. I put a big handful in a colander in the sink sprinkled it with salt and continued layering it like that. I weighed it down with a plate and a couple of cans. This sat for about 30 minutes till a good deal of the juice had run out, then I rinsed it real good. Then I put a layer in the pot, sprinkled some of the bacon and onion mixture around also had sliced a ring of Kilbasa and added that and kept making the layers until done. Sprinkled black pepper on top put on the lid and started to cook. Once the cabbage started to soften, I got the big spoon and started stirring. Once it was soft enough to my liking, it was time to eat. I sure didn't mean to run on so long but your recipe reminded me how good it was. I'm sure you can tell by all my additions I like fancy things. Watching you cook has gotten me so hungry now. As soon as the store opens tomorrow, I'm buying some cabbage. This was a great video. It felt like I was standing in your kitchen. Take care.
I grew up in Arkansas. I love fried cabbage. Sometimes I add some onion and hamburger meat and make it the main dish. Thank you so much. God Bless You.
YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT!!! I always use the dark green outer leaves in my cabbage recipes!!! The vitamins and flavor are THERE! Also, most grocery stores will let you take the discarded green leaves for free! Especially around Saint Patrick's Day when most folks strip off the green leaves. I also give them a few extra minutes to cook. -- I love this recipe too! I usually grate in some carrot and sliced onion too! - Wish you were MY Grandma !!! I Love You Too!!

Hell no we don't throw core away , munch on it sweet crunchy and delicious.
Back in Russia we eat those , it's ok we have teeth
Alexandria Vinichenko yes, they are wonderful! The best bit! I am English and as a child would always look for the stem while my mum cooked. Still eat it 60 years on. 😊
Yes core is great with a little salt... 😋
That is exactly the way I cook cabbage. So glad to hear you say to put in the dark green leaves. That makes it a beautiful meal. I put mine over rice and sometimes over buttered noodles.
Nice
Ahhh... thank you... love you too sweet sis! 💕

It’s our pleasure watching you Grandma Ray and we love you too ❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗
I love your comment so thanks
Mmmm Mmmm That looks SO good. I like that there's a little "crunch".. and some color there. Thanks for the great tips.
You ARE a Luv : ) 🙏
Thank you
Great video.
Take care.
That sounds so good. You enjoy yours tomorrow. Good job
I grew up in Arkansas. I love fried cabbage. Sometimes I add some onion and hamburger meat and make it the main dish. Thank you so much. God Bless You.
I lile
Looks delicious,I love fried cabbage,I like the idea of putting the dark green i the cabbage and not cooked to death,Good job Grand ma Ray.
Thanks Carol
Thanks
Thank You
Thumbs up grandma, thank you for sharing! God bless!
Thanks
YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT!!! I always use the dark green outer leaves in my cabbage recipes!!! The vitamins and flavor are THERE! Also, most grocery stores will let you take the discarded green leaves for free! Especially around Saint Patrick's Day when most folks strip off the green leaves. I also give them a few extra minutes to cook. -- I love this recipe too! I usually grate in some carrot and sliced onion too! - Wish you were MY Grandma !!! I Love You Too!!
