Nice to see you riding a more reasonable bike on this BDR. I have your earlier sibling: 2003 640 Adventure which I ride here in the Sierra Nevada. Have plans to do as many BDRs as I can in the next couple of years. Why others ride a big 500-600 pound bike on these routes is beyond me. Your helmet-mounted camera doesn't do justice to the steepness of the climbs ... and those rocks can be testy. Well done, sir!
At 2:41, you are on Stage Road, the start of the northern half of the Vermont Puppy Dog trail. And I recognize the VPDT at 3:52. Good run. The NE-BDR does run a lot on the VPDT and the NH Hamster trail.
Nice I haven’t heard of those. I’ll have to look them up! Vermont has by far been my favorite place to ride. Can’t wait to go back. There were so many trails off the route that I wanted to check out but didn’t have time.
I wonder why folks don't tell the names of the roads they are riding. It would make it so much easier to locate the roads. GoPro and other wide angle cameras distort the roads so badly though I've ridden them (I live in Vermont and have done the NEBDR twice) I rarely recognize the roads they're on.
This was in July. I think it can be hit or miss in July with how wet it is. The route coordinators say September is the best time. I’ve done sections in October and it was great then. A bit cold at night lol.
Nope, this is the actual route. This video only shows a small portion of the route though. The rest of my videos do show the whole thing except for the easy gravel stuff. Section 4 of the NEBDR isn’t that difficult, especially if it’s dry, but there are definitely some tricky parts. I lucked out and had really dry conditions but it can be craaaazzzyy muddy which would make things 100x harder. I mean none of it is hard enduro but that’s not what it’s meant to be. On big ADV bikes I can definitely see why some people would struggle though.

What time of year was this? Looks like fun if not soupy!

Is this the alternate route? I feel like this does not deserve the recognition that it receives? Looks not that difficult.
