Jig Fishing Alaska for Halibut Cod and King Salmon (Kodiak, Alaska) S2 E1

What a fun day fishing #Kodiak for #halibut, #cod and #kingsalmon with two long time Kodiak residents and fisherman. I was fortunate enough to get invited to tag along with these two hilarious characters for a day of deep sea jigging and my stomach was sore from laughing all day. The main goal of the day was to catch enough pacific cod to fill the freezer for the coming winter. There is no limit on cod here and we bled and iced 20 in about 30 minutes of fishing! Next up was halibut, where the captain showed us how it's done within 2 minutes of his first drop of the day. We ended the trip up trolling for chinook or king salmon and we were lucky enough to bag a prized white king. Some kings have a snow white colored flesh like halibut and cod and are prized for their high fat and oil content.
